Dear Masters of Mercy, fellow practitioners of the Great Virtue, good evening everyone, Amitabha!
The topic we will continue to study tonight is: "How to Build the Confidence of Destiny to Become a Buddha".Many of our fellow practitioners went to Nanputuo (South Putuo Temple) to listen to a lecture last night. The theme of yesterday was: "The Way to Get Rid of Suffering Now". Yesterday’s lecture was extraordinary. The speakers were very happy and listened. People are also very happy. At the end, it seems that many people have said that they have been free from suffering and have happiness (hahaha). This is not impossible! Since our lecture is set as "The Method of Freedom from Suffering and Happy Now", it Naturally, this method can be achieved.
Some people learn Buddhism and learn nothing for a lifetime, but only create a lot of karma, so they think that learning Buddhism is very difficult. In fact, this is all wrong knowledge, because every one of us, ah, We don’t know how much of this kind of virtue we have planted in the past since the beginning of the robbery, even if we only look at this life.Look at some people... Master Huineng, the Sixth Patriarch, seems to be inconspicuous, but in this life people are preparing to become enlightened and be the Patriarch, and immeasurable calamity has accumulated profound good roots. Then we here look... Everyone looked much smarter than Master Huineng. He was a southern, very earthy person at the time, and people would look down upon him there.So as long as you meet good causes and conditions, if you listen to one or two sentences, you can get away from suffering and get happiness right now, and even in the moment you can fully realize it. So what we are here to listen to today is already getting away from suffering and happiness yesterday. Oh... these people, the blessings I came to listen to today are different!
Yesterday, I listened to myself, and today I started to listen to the general public. How do you say it? Come to the solemn dojo, it’s different, repair the big blessing.After the Buddha and Bodhisattva have achieved it, they will come again by multiplying vows. After multiplying vows, what do they do? It also shows various practices...preserving precepts and practicing blessings, this is done for all living beings, not that we are free from suffering and enjoy happiness. After that, after we have achieved it, we have nothing to do, and we are ready to sit there and worship others. What's the point? It's so boring, it doesn't matter if you become this kind of Buddha! Right? So don't be misled by some appearances... "Oh! , I became a Buddha...", like Christianity, I misunderstood... "Oh, you all worship idols in Buddhism, and you are all superstitious...", in fact, there are all expressions...there are deep expressions.So although it is possible for us to be liberated right now, it is possible to be free from suffering, and not to wait for rebirth, and it is possible to fully realize it, but what should we do after that? We should treat it as if we don’t understand anything, start again, and start from the basics. , You have to learn precepts and cultivate blessings. This principle is very deep. If you cling to your realm, then you are finished.
The truly enlightened person, the truly liberated person, he will be busier, why? Do it for all beings, show the Dharma!At the same time, I continue to accumulate merits and predestined conditions. I want to bond with sentient beings, cultivate blessings, and then practice. The practice of observing the precepts must be shown to others. This is to save sentient beings by example.So people who are truly enlightened will be more diligent, so where are we today... Therefore, we have probably talked about the subject of building confidence in the departed life. Some of our fellow practitioners should have heard it, but it should be continued for a long time. Kaoru, strengthen this faith, not only for ourselves, but also to save sentient beings. We have to show it to others.
(XNUMX) Practice methods and concepts must be correct before you can truly enter the Pure Land Dharma

Then we fellow practitioners all know that the condition of becoming a Buddha is very simple-"belief and do". Everyone knows that true belief and true aspiration are the key. If you have listened to my lectures, everyone knows that I am guided by goodness. Master Jingzong's second ancestor, Amitabha’s wish to come again... His pure land thoughts, I am the messenger of Amitabha, I will introduce... After introducing myself to my studies, I will share with you the results I have obtained, and also make it for everyone. witness.
Then the key to establishing rebirth through the teaching method of good guidance is to believe in true wishes, not practicing Kungfu, everyone has a concept, if anyone who has heard my lecture...it is very simple, so everyone can establish a rebirth in the present moment. Because you don’t need to practice Kung Fu anymore... No need. I have practiced for decades, and I recite Amitabha every day in order to slow down my delusions...slowly recite less.In fact, worries are bodhi. According to this doctrine, worries are bodhi. After your delusion is cut off and your bodhi is gone, then you will become an idiot. If you study Buddhism, you will become an idiot. No! Turn those bad thoughts into good ones, and then you will become a Buddha. After you become a Buddha, you have to use good thoughts to save sentient beings. You have no thoughts. It doesn’t look like a vegetative, that’s not. The realm that we need to attain by practicing Buddhism.
But with the traditional practice, you can't say it's wrong. You have to recite... If there is no delusion, it will have a state of meditation, which is also very good, and there is nothing wrong with it, but it is not the ultimate state.That’s very hard for me. You have been reading for decades, but in fact, I have tried all of them. I have closed the door several times. I closed the door and chanted Buddha from morning to night. The more I recited, the more angry I became. Would it be like this? In theory, it is not said in the scriptures that chanting Buddha can be very joyful, and then you can achieve subdued defilements. That's right, if you read it right.Like when we chanted the Buddha yesterday, everyone chanted very happily, didn’t they? Say it again: Nanwu Amitabha... (Taiwanese pronunciation), you see, while chanting while exercising, the pubic region is getting more and more beneficial, isn’t it? We use it very healthy. The mentality, the right mentality and methods, can really read happily.
But I used to have wrong ideas. I studied for XNUMX years, but I still didn’t know the teachings of the religions in the first XNUMX years. I studied the teachings of all religions, because I started to study the teachings...specially teach the scriptures. I have seen a lot of things and a lot of information, but by the time of twelve years, I still don’t know it, so reciting the Buddha is the mood of practicing Kungfu. I have been suppressing delusions. Can delusions be suppressed? That kind of practice is to practice meditation. Concentration...is relying on self-reliance. You have to raise your concentration to a certain level, and then Prajna wisdom comes forward. That is another kind of practice. It's not wrong, but our Pure Land practice is not like this. You have to be correct... If your practice concept is correct, you will begin to truly enter the Pure Land Gate.

So now we all know that the key condition for us to be able to live is true faith and wish, right? It doesn’t matter how much you recite the Buddha, but in fact, if you are really happy, you will try your best...you will like to recite the Buddha. Yesterday we too. Remind everyone, to train yourself to follow the Buddha's name, let yourself know the method of chanting the Buddha, the more you chant, the happier, and then develop this habit, to be addicted to reading... To be addicted to reading, what you want to do most throughout the day is The happiest thing about reciting Buddhism is reciting Buddhism.Then you will naturally not create karma of greed, hatred, ignorance, and live the same life as gods every day.
For our "faith and willingness" and "action", although there is no requirement, you don't have to recite the Buddha to what extent you want to die. You can have tens of thousands of sentences... No, it doesn't matter if you don't know how to recite, but you If you really didn’t read it, then you’re abnormal. Do you understand this? The conditions for becoming a Buddha do not stipulate that you have to recite the Buddha's name. There is no requirement for this kung fu of "action", only if you truly believe in the true wish. , Believe that these two conditions are the key.But then again, there are really people who really believe in aspirations. If you might not recite the Buddha, is it possible? Is there such a skinny one? No, right?
Well, if you really want to go, how can you even not want to call Amitabha's name? Impossible! So this "ok", although we don't talk about it or ask for it, it must be sufficient , So understand.So what we are going to talk about today is to further explore the conditions for rebirth. How can we truly be sure that we will be able to die in this life? We are really sure to build confidence in rebirth at the moment. Our focus is on true faith and wish. "Faith." We also talk a lot. I have CDs in circulation, and we talk a lot, especially among the forty-eight vows. You must have a deep understanding of the forty-eight vows, which vows, and the content of the forty-eight vows that Amitabha Buddha made for us. Then your faith Naturally, it will grow more and more, including what we talked about yesterday about how to recite the Buddha, what to do... all kinds of ways, through these channels, we can strengthen our confidence.So this is actually not too difficult. The real difficulty lies in whether one's wish is true or not, and why?
The karma of sentient beings is terrible. The "Blessed Life Sutra" says: "Buddha power is incredible, and the good roots of sentient beings are incredible." So I said that you are all likely to get away from suffering and have happiness at the moment, and it is possible to build confidence in rebirth at the moment. Because the roots of goodness are incredible! We may have offered to immeasurable Buddhas in the past and have immeasurable and deep roots of goodness. Therefore, the scripture says: "The good roots of all beings are incredible." There is also a sentence: "The karma of all beings is incredible." How powerful is this karma? Strong? It's as strong as Buddha, it's terrible.Therefore, the Buddha made XNUMX wishes to save us. He has completed his merits. Of course, he has the ability. Then why can't some sentient beings be saved?
It’s because the karma of sentient beings is incredible. If you speak of willingness, that wish is false. As long as you are willing to go, Buddha Amitabha must be able to take you to Buddhahood. There is also one reason why you can’t go. You are not willing to go. To go, it is actually fake.Therefore, we will study carefully. Among the two conditions of letter and wish, for us ordinary people, this wish is even more difficult, so we have to focus on this place. Everyone will take a good look at it, because I don’t know you. Let’s just ask about the scene. Those of our fellow practitioners who have really made a vow, please raise their hands... so many! There are more women, hey... the men are more leaky, so what are you doing? Come to worship Guanyin Yes, it’s not bad to blow on the air-conditioning... the solemn dojo.
But some people are embarrassed to say that it is more difficult for men to save, why...face, "Oh, I am a big man, want me to rely on the Buddha?", right? It's even harder!But there is a saying: "Big man can bend and stretch"... rely on it, what's so great, what can't be done? Because the Buddha is more perfect than us, we should rely on him, don’t feel embarrassed, men are like that. "Usually I am taking care of my family. I am the biggest at home. Now I want to rely on the Buddha. It's really leaky!" This is an obstacle, but if you don’t rely on the Buddha, you can’t be saved, because you have to sense... Relying on induction, not our chanting skills, or any precepts, He does not require you to maintain precepts, meditation, or your Prajna wisdom, He does not require any.
It depends on induction. Amitabha can only come when he hears that you really want to go, right? Without induction with him, how did he come? He can't kidnap you.Therefore, we must be truly willing to rely on the Buddha in our hearts, and ask Amitabha Buddha to save us and lead us to the world of bliss. Then we can be free from the pain of life and life forever. This is not a trivial matter. So don’t be polite, you’re welcome, you’re polite. You have no chance.You see that we still have young people. The young people have already made a wish... Stand up and show us the old Bodhisattvas (Applause encouragement)... Young people... Find a way to shave his hair, just shave him earlier. Can't run away, otherwise he will meet a beautiful girl another day, wow! It's miserable, you're entangled...for a lifetime, you won't have a chance when the child is born again.You see that people are still so young, and there are so many good roots! Older people must be more alert, it's too late, the impermanence comes...Really, don't think that I have done so many careers and so many things in my entire life. It is useless, there is no way to die, no way to escape from all kinds of suffering, so we must be able to bend and stretch, and be wise.

Okay, so many people raise their hands. Of course it’s good, because I must ask first, our main purpose here is to worship Guanyin Bodhisattva. Some people just ask Guanyin Bodhisattva to come to save life, and they don’t ask for death. It looks like today. Not bad. Many of us are old fellow practitioners. They are all like-minded.But this wish, what we are going to take you to explore now is whether your wish is true or not? A good discussion, is it true that you can die, it’s not true that everything is empty talk, then...yeah, I’m not for it. …Come… come to worship Buddha; I obviously made a vow, the problem is that you make a vow, ordinary people will deceive themselves and others, you don’t know that you are lying to yourself; so let’s study today to see if your vow is true.
If we young people, you have already made a vow to die, then I will tell you now: "Okay... tomorrow, you go to shave, do you want to go?" Ask this first, do you want? Give it back! Give it back! A few seconds passed, "Do you want?" "Yes"... it's dangerous!I nodded my head, it seemed like I was asking for a bag. I’m responsible for finding the monastery for you. (Haha...) Look.. I'm waiting in a nervous mood. Look...Look at this. I’ll tell you, life and death. Big thing! I have to be able to make a decision without any reason, "Oh...what about my family, what about my parents, what happened to me...", no! That is already trapping yourself in the world, you Don’t you know that everything in the world is illusion? It’s fake! Your parents are also fake, he is a combination of earth, water, fire and wind in front of you, know? Not yet.. Parents haven’t studied Buddhism yet, don’t scold them. Me, his parents also want me to help him save... This son, a son of the nine tribes who became a monk and ascended to heaven, it’s incredible!
Then why do you want to clam? It’s weird pinch (laughter)... It doesn’t look like you can lie, why do you want to clam? So you think it’s not easy, right? Then we old people don’t talk about being a monk, nor are old people You must be a monk. If you are a monk, you have to work hard and Buddhism will not find it inappropriate, because you have to learn a lot of things to be a monk. If you teach you... those who have made a vow, can you be a vegetarian? Is there any way? Already? It doesn’t count if you’re already a vegetarian. If you’re already a vegetarian, you won’t eat for lunch from tomorrow. Is there any way? (Yes...) Yes! Really? Also, it’s so good, alas, it scares me! I doubt it, because I’m too good to save me, but I will be afraid, because all beings will lie (laughter...), but it is also possible that time has come.

There are also some old fellow practitioners here. How did people persuade him to stop eating after lunch, because this time I started to stop eating at lunch time, and I was very happy. I encountered great good knowledge blessing me. I used to be afraid of stomach troubles again. I just ate a little oatmeal in the evening at Kaiyuan. For a long time, I suddenly met the blessings of our lawyer Guo Qing and monk Qing Gong. I immediately obediently obeyed, and started to eat no food for lunch... Twenty days till now, I am very happy!
Then they always see that I am very happy, and they follow my heart and do it without my persuasion, and everyone is very happy, naturally. If you say that for those who are not mature yet, it’s not after noon. It’s not easy to eat, you just smell that smell, oh...how it’s so fragrant, you don’t need to have dinner in the afternoon, the smell will float out at the time of afternoon tea, and you will start to eat, and your stomach will growl. , Especially in the first few days.
Later... My feeling this time is that after three or five days, my stomach no longer growls, because I go to bed very early, so you really have to stay without food after lunch, and you have to adjust your entire work and rest. It’s relatively smooth. It doesn’t matter if you go to bed at nine or ten. Don’t go beyond eleven. So the person just said should do it, don’t deceive, deceive Master to be guilty and go to hell! Go to hell, just kidding (haha...) Will go to hell.
But do you want to keep the five precepts? For those who have just made a vow, I ask the person who has made a vow. I don’t care about the others. Why? Because I want to test whether your aspiration is true or false, so I have already made a vow. People, do you want to hold the five precepts? Yes... what you already hold doesn’t count. If you really want it, I’m now helping you to check whether your wish is true or false. I’m reminding you to bless you, if you are like He is the same: "Oh?" Then you have to be careful if you wish, is it an escape mentality?
Because this world is really bitter. Every day you have to face some hardships at home, the pressure of going to work, and there are some nasty people, kinsmen and creditors who are bothering you by your side. Of course you will want me to die as soon as possible. That is a kind of escape. Psychology, so is it necessary to check it frequently like this? I’m telling you that you should continue to observe yourself when you go back. When you encounter any realm, do you still have the desire to be born? If you start to waver, then you have to be careful. .So where is the real difficulty?
The difficulty is this "will"...Will your heart not retreat! As long as you are willing to retreat, it means that you still have faith in the Buddha. This belief is sufficient, right? Then if you are willing to retreat, you will definitely recite the Buddha, even if you will. Keep the precepts and practice, why? You are not very interested in worldly things. Of course you want to put your heart into practice, how can you say... The most important thing for me now is to decide to live in the Paradise of Bliss, and then you are in life. You start to plan again... "How much money do I want to make, what big company I want to build, then what great business I want to do, what do I want to do..." Then, how many hearts do you have? How many hearts do you have ? One mind and two uses are impossible, one of them must be fake! Right? There is only one true mind, then where you want to put this mind, you can only put it in one place.That’s why the Patriarch tells us that you have to be able to get away from this world so that you can truly seek bliss, that is, you really want to go to the bliss world. If on the one hand you just think it’s good here, on the other hand, you think I want to go to the bliss world. , That is fake.Even when we just said: "The karma of sentient beings is incredible", the kind of real...you say you like both, but it is very likely that what you really like is the world of Sapo, the five desires and six dusts in the world, then how can you die? ? Absolutely impossible.So if you look at it carefully, it’s actually been my fifth year from 2010 to now. I have been to Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia every year for five consecutive years. I went to many dojos to introduce Master Shandao’s pure land thoughts. There are no people who are unhappy in listening. They are not exaggerated at all, and almost XNUMX% of them raise their hands and say, "I have faith in my death!" Why? It was really a simple thing.

If you truly believe in Amitabha, you believe in Amitabha’s forty-eight vows, and you are really willing to go, then you will...death right now. Our topic today is "How to build confidence in destiny", how to build it Of course there must be a method. The method is very simple. The question is whether you really believe in your wishes, so so many people raised their hands, and then I went back for the second and third time, yeah...how come fewer and fewer people raised their hands? That means that Confidence is not true.So it’s easy to misrecognize the news. If you misrecognize the news, what should you do if you can’t die? So this method is really simple. Ten thousand people will go there, but why it seems that there are not many people who want to become Buddhas and can truly die. There are not many people. Actually, it’s really easy, but the key is that you can’t die because our karma is too terrible! And most people don’t have the conditions to become a Buddha. What conditions do they need? Destiny must be sufficient. As mentioned in the Amitabha Sutra, this is our own condition. The condition for the introduction of Amitabha Buddha is faith and willingness, nothing else.
If we ourselves are not deep enough and insufficient, you will naturally not have true faith and eagerness. Your true faith and eagerness are false. Join in the excitement. Others take incense and follow others to worship. If others take incense, you follow others and you have confidence in me. I also have confidence. If you want to go, I will go too. I will tell you that you will know your realm as soon as you have a test.So we have to test ourselves every day. We have to ask ourselves. Now there is a temptation: "Yeah... if there is an object who wants to pursue you, how would you react?" "Is anyone chasing you now?" "No?" "You shouldn't chase people!" (Laughter...).So now I want to remind you of this karma. Really, you are dumbfounded when you see this person inexplicably. How come your mind is blank and you can't be the master? This is the unjust creditor owed to others in the past.We must first understand that there may be this phenomenon, because karma is incredible and should not be neglected! So every day we must remind ourselves to let go, let go, you must let go, and then put your heart on the practice, then you can be sure of this. True faith, faith is true.
Then don’t worry if you go to hold the five precepts. Our fellow practitioners said, "Oh! What if you break the precepts?" Yes, you can’t break the precepts. It’s true that if you break the precepts, you will go to hell. Nothing can be done without licentiousness, nonsense, and no drinking!" Even if our monks have been ordained for a long time, no one dares to say that every one is done very well. Only the Buddha can do it very well.So you see that there are some confession rituals in our precepts. Many times you don’t mean that you have received the precepts. You must guarantee that you will not commit them until you reach Consummation. If this is the case, no one can do it. It is necessary to break the precepts, so who will come to take the precepts, right? So many people still dare not go because they have this worry in their hearts, so I want to tell you not to be afraid! Taking precepts must be better than not taking precepts. There are too many benefits of taking precepts, Patriarch De If you really want to keep the precepts, no one will discourage and admire! Unless you are not really willing to keep the precepts, then someone is afraid that you will fall into hell and don’t know how to deal with it. Then they will say otherwise you don’t want to keep the precepts.So some people misunderstood our old monk Jingkong and said, "Yeah...the old monk does not encourage people to take the precepts." How could it be possible! He took precepts and became a monk himself, right? Misunderstanding his meaning is tantamount to slandering him, no.
There is no true practitioner who does not admire the merits of keeping the precepts. Don’t misunderstand yourself, and then just have a reason to say: "Ah, the old monk said that you don’t need to keep the precepts, you don’t need to take the precepts, and you can die if you don’t have them." This is not wrong. If you break the precept, you can die from the five evils and ten evils. The problem is that if you encounter this method now, if you make a sincere wish, you can't fail to work diligently, otherwise your sincere wish is not true. Why did it happen? Temporarily, some factors put it together. Originally there was no Buddha statue. Then we went to find the materials, one and the other turned it into a Buddha statue. We created it, but there was no such material. Open it, dissolve it, yes...return to the original, so people will not die? People will not die, so don't be afraid of death, people will not die, our Buddha nature will always exist.Now that we are confined by this body and this stinky skin, our Buddha-nature and spirituality cannot get out of this prison. We are now in jail. We are in jail. Our Buddha-nature is locked in this body. Then we are afraid of death. I want to live a few more years. It’s best to get rid of this prison as soon as possible, but don’t die too ugly. Once we get out of this prison, all our sufferings are almost gone. Like that ghost, all living beings of ghosts do not have a body. He has magical powers without a body. We all have magical powers. We don’t need to cultivate some magical powers. It will naturally appear, flying away from the sky, five of the six magical powers will appear, "Hexintong," "Fate," and "Supernatural Foot Skills" are all available, so naturally they will come forward, and they will be shut down. In this body, there are no magical powers, and you can’t use it! Go out early, right? The last "draining and exhausting" is wisdom. Your troubles must be purified and eliminated. Your "draining and exhausting." , When this trouble is exhausted, the "exhaustion and exhaustion" will appear.This depends on the blessing of the Buddha, let us open up wisdom, wisdom is opened up, all our troubles are eliminated, and our "leakage and completeness" are also completed.
So don’t cling to this body, throw it away quickly, make up for it, make money for it, and then do what it does for it... Karma is really stupid! This is called greed, anger, ignorance, ignorance, right? You made your prison stronger, put on makeup, and changed the color... Did the prison in Singapore color it again for that design? No? Didn’t do such a boring thing, we have to spend money We need to put on makeup and make it strong. These are all problems, because we don’t know the truth is like this, so we should get out of this prison as soon as possible, and we will be free. This is the truth. Ordinary people will not understand and think this is the truth. The body is me.
Therefore, the Buddha showed us the truth in the world, but he is no longer there. Our disciples of Buddhist monks have this responsibility to convey the teachings of the Buddha. If you hear about it, if you believe in the Buddha and the Master, you will not deceive you, even though you still don’t. I understand why, but I won’t lie to you. If you believe it, just do it, teach you to recite the Buddha, teach you to keep the precepts, and teach you to hurry up and put your heart in the world of bliss and not to be a person in this world.
