What I want to study with you tonight is the essence of "Buddha Says Amitabha Sutra".Our fellow practitioners who study the Pure Land Method should all know the six-character name of "Namo Amitabha" that we often call.This name seems very simple, so it is often ignored by other sects or people who have not studied Buddhism in general, but we are very clear that this name is the most outstanding among the eighty-four thousand methods taught by the Blessed One. The so-called Wan Dehong name, countless merits are all condensed in this name.So the "Buddha Says Amitabha Sutra" that we are going to study with fellow practitioners today is also the most important and most outstanding of all the sutras in the forty-nine years of Blessed One’s preaching and more than 22 meetings. A sutra.However, it is also ignored by ordinary people, especially beginner practitioners. When they first enter Buddhism, they often think that the "Heart Sutra" is the most profound sutra. The first sutra I learnt in my beginners is the "Heart Sutra". The Heart Sutra is the essence of the six hundred volumes of the Prajna Sutra. The Blessed One spent 49 years on the Prajna Sutra, but the Amitabha Sutra we are going to study today is all the sutras taught by the Blessed One in XNUMX years. The essence of all the sutras mentioned in the 49 years has the same meaning.

So how do we learn? If we want to learn the "Blessed Life Sutra", it is much easier, because it is very clear, from the practice of Amitabha Buddha to the accumulation of merits, to the cause and effect of complete accomplishment. It’s very clear, so it’s generally not difficult to sustain it.This sutra doesn’t say anything. It directly asks you to make aspirations and recite the Buddha. If you are not someone with very deep roots, he will not follow the teachings, and its content is too simple, without any ingenious theories or It's cause and effect, and it doesn't even talk about the special practice. 

So most people tend to ignore it, but have you noticed that in our jungle evening classes, the "Amitabha Sutra" must be recited every day, and even in the jungles of other sects, it should be recited at least every other day. But this sutra seems very simple. How can we get into it and truly learn this sutra to be used? There are special methods. If the practitioners are not minded, you have to memorize it for decades, or I can't find this way to get started, or I can't learn this sutra, and I can't get it to use.Because this sutra actually talks for a long time...Although it only has more than a thousand words, its content can be said to be like a "wordless heavenly book". Although you are very familiar with memorizing it, but ask what you are talking about in this content, probably Few people have spoken it out, so this sutra is the hardest to tell.

Of all the sutras, this sutra is the most difficult to tell! Because there is no content, how do you say it, you can only persuade you to believe, make aspirations, and recite the Buddha, then can you bow down and step down?But let’s take a look... Master Lianchi explained this sutra "Amitabha Sutra Shuchao", which has a lot of weight, and the reasoning is very wonderful; even if it is so wonderful, it is so wonderful that we can’t understand it at all, it’s not there yet. This sutra is thoroughly explained, so it's really too difficult to tell, and it's also too difficult to understand.then what should we do?How do we learn?It's very simple, just don't need to learn.You can graduate without studying, really!This is the real key. If you don't learn, don't be smart, you will get everything.

In this sutra, everyone should pay attention to this. There are three times of "this persuasion." The Blessed One asked Sariputra, Sariputra represents wisdom first, wisdom first-he is the one who crashed.Three of them asked Sariputra: "Why is the Buddha named Amitabha" and so on, and three times in total, he asked him three questions.After the question was over, the World-Honored One did not wait for him to answer and then answer again. What does this mean?Will the Blessed One be so boring?Asking a question and answering by yourself, it's so appetizing, it's impossible!What does this mean?The wise Sariputra, if you ask him, he can't answer.Therefore, this sutra is that the Buddha said without question, and no one has the means to enlighten it. It can be seen that this realm can not even be understood by people with the first wisdom of Sariputra.

So no one enlightened it. In other words, even waiting for enlightenment Bodhisattva could not fully imagine the realm, how can we learn it?If there is no way to learn, don't learn.What should I do if I don’t learn?There is a way, that is, "according to teachings" is the trick.You don't need to understand, you just need to be obedient and accept it.The practice of following teachings is also very simple, that is, you don’t need to do anything, and you don’t need to worry about it yourself. We just have to make a wish, truly believe and accept it, and it’s completely in line with the key beliefs, wishes, and deeds of this sutra.So the point is that we have to really make a wish, really believe, and then it's very simple to do it-we have always dedicated ourselves to it.In this way, we naturally do not cultivate, and we can naturally obtain the realm of Amitabha Buddha's fruit on the earth, and truly fully obtain the benefits of this sutra.

So what kind of mentality should we use to learn, completely respectful and accepting, and stop thinking when hearing any scripture. What does this mean?is it possible?right?Don't even have a second thought.After hearing the imperial decree, the emperor issues the imperial decree, is there room for the people to discuss it?No, you only have to accept it. If you want to get the benefits of this sutra, you only have to accept it. One hundred percent of the time, you must establish such a correct learning mentality before you can proceed to the next one.Otherwise, it's like a cup, if you put the lid on it, no water can get in.So it’s useless for you to listen to it for decades, you just memorize it very well, so it is in line with the saying in this sutra that "you must not be born in the other country by virtue of a few good roots and virtues", and you can really get the experience of this sutra. Rebirth in the Paradise of Elysium relies purely on good roots and virtues, and we must grasp this key point.

So how do we get ourselves into this sutra quickly? There is a shortcut, that is, we directly from Amitabha's heart, Amitabha's wish, we go to experience the relationship between Amitabha and us, we have a very familiar feeling of intimacy, we Naturally, it is easy to sense the intercourse.Therefore, among the forty-eight vows that we talked about before, from the previous "The Taoist Wish of No Evil" and "The Wish of No Evil", we can also experience the great compassion of Amitabha for us. heart.

What kind of mood is this? There is a passage in the "Nirvana Sutra" that we read again: "For example, if there is one person, and there are seven sons, it is the sickness of the seven sons. The heart of the parents is not unequal, but for the sick son, the heart is Overweight.The Tathagata is not unequal to all living beings, but to the sinner, the heart is biased, and to the freer, the Buddha is compassionate. This paragraph is for us, we are sinful, sinful and free, this kind of person is... He is an analogy: this parent has seven children, then among the seven children, the sick parent It is the unequal heart of his parents that cares about him most, but this is nature, and it will be so naturally, especially for the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. His compassion far exceeds the heart of his parents.

So for those of us who have serious sins and karma, He is very concerned about them and wants to be saved as soon as possible, so we don’t have to worry about our karma being so heavy, the more serious the karma, the more Buddha will come to save you, as long as you can believe it. , Ask Him for help.It is very difficult for many intellectuals to let go of this figure. They have to ask for help. They can't save their face, and they are also very arrogant. I don't think I don't need it at all. Rely on the Buddha? Believe it or not.So don’t think it’s simple. For those who don’t believe it, it’s hard to break through this point. It’s hard to admit that there’s nowhere to go and nothing to do. Only Amitabha can help him. It’s hard to get this face down.

Moreover, we must also understand that in the "Bei Hua Sutra", the sentient beings in the world of our samas were given away by fourteen Buddhas. The so-called heavy troubles of sentient beings are what the Buddha gives up.Specializing in evil karma, such as sentient beings, the world of Buddhas, is not tolerated.Such beings, cut off the roots of goodness, renounce good knowledge, and often harbor aversion, all wishing to fill the world of sāsama, all being rejected by the world of other buddhas, with heavy karma. 』

What other Buddhas could not do, He did not make a wish. If I could not come, I didn't want to come. This world of Sao Po is five turbid and evil worlds, but if you want to repay your grace, you have to come and repay Amitabha’s kindness.It is true that sentient beings are very difficult to save, but if we recruit students for Amitabha, there is no problem. No matter how difficult sentient beings are, Amitabha can save it.We only recruit students for Amitabha, so there is no problem.If you rely on the Buddha to directly save you, other Buddhas can't do it, so you don't come, why can't you come.And Amitabha Buddha not only made a vow for us, and he was not only waiting so anxiously to save us, but even his vows were actually fulfilled ten calamities ago.Our "Amitabha Sutra" also talks about it, so since the ten calamities have been around us every day, calling us, the kind of anxious mood, just like a parent, when the child goes out, he waits over there, and waits for the anxiety every day. heart of.

So when we found out one day, many of us would really cry and weep, sorrow and joy are mixed, the "sadness" is that we really let Amitabha take so much heart for us, we never knew it, we were fascinated! The "happy" is that we were so happy before, and finally we can be free.Otherwise, I always feel that this world is very pitiful, very lonely here, there is no one we can trust, and no one really cares for us. Even if our parents are closest to us, they themselves are very painful and troubled. What should I do?Very helpless!

But in fact, we actually have Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and Amitabha by his side, waiting for us like this, but we haven't noticed it, so once we discover that kind of happiness, we will really settle in our hearts every day.Then naturally there will be a kind of compassion to show compassion to other sentient beings.They are not as lucky as we are, and naturally you will not care about others.We have met such a good cause, and no one else has yet. This will naturally change a lot.

We have to look back every moment and every day, until we die, we have to think about the heart of Amitabha, think about the merits of the Buddha's name, think about it every day, every day, the induction will become stronger and stronger, and the more we will become with Him. I'm getting more and more familiar.Just like when we get along with the other half, or family, you have to pay attention to him every day, care about him and get to know him, then you will become more and more familiar with him, more and more tacit understanding, and deeper and deeper feelings.So turn to this other half of your concern about Amitabha and understand Amitabha, then you will soon be able to grasp the trick, how to interact with Amitabha Buddha, then you will feel it in your heart, and then you will have it in your heart. We can get all the merits that Amitabha Buddha has given us, and we will soon be able to benefit.

At the same time, after we feel it, we have to understand one thing, which is what we just talked about. We have no other way to go. Amitabha is our only support. He was hesitant at first, but when he made up his mind, he would not consider other things and move forward courageously.No matter how others tell you, "Oh, what do you want if this is not right, how do you fix it...otherwise it's not safe..." You don't listen to everything, and you go all the way to the end.

If our determination is issued and this wish is issued, there will be absolutely no interference. This is what the old monk said: "Even if Buddha Shakyamuni shows up and tells you, if you don’t practice this method, there is another method that is better. Don’t listen.” Anyway, I have to go to the Paradise of Bliss, I have to go to death, no matter what the situation, I’ll go all the way to the end, this is a true belief, but there is a reason for insufficiency? Amitabha was entangled by you. I can't run away, and I have to think of him too. He has made a vow, and if he doesn't come, he will go to him to settle the account.

There is the tone of the Patriarch’s Great Virtue, which means: "If you can't die, the broad and long tongues of the Buddhas in the ten directions will rot after sticking out, and you can't stick them back..." It's so poisonous!His mood means that if he believes in the Buddha's words XNUMX% like this, the Buddha cannot lie to him. If he lie to him, his tongue will rot. In such a mood, he will use his body and mind XNUMX% and take his whole life down. We made a bet, so how could our wish be unfulfilled? 

We may not be able to reach this realm at once, but we can move towards this realm. Your induction will become stronger and stronger, and your confidence will become stronger. It is very simple. Master Yinguang told us: "From the Chaozhi Twilight, from the twilight dynasty. A Buddha's name does not stop." That’s it, then you forget, it doesn’t matter when you are busy. Anyway, it’s not about practicing Kungfu, and I also want to remind fellow practitioners, it’s better. Make a wish every day so that you can remember that the only most important thing in the rest of our days is not our career, our children’s studies, or our future development, no! That all is illusion, only death The world of bliss is the most important and the most real, so I have to make a vow every day that Amitabha must come to pick me up and pick me up earlier. So we need to know why we usually recite the Buddha, some have been reciting for ten or twenty years, but still can’t recite the Dharma joy, because our method is wrong and the direction is wrong, because we are not close to the Buddha or to Amitabha; and On the one hand, we are all greedy for the world, especially for love and attachment, love comes and loves, just like the real thing, the stakes are clear when they are in the past, every single point, if we don’t agree, we will turn our faces, maybe for a little bit. The benefits will be reversed. It can happen to parents, relatives, and couples. This is a human being.Ordinary people are like this, and there is no need to be sad. Ordinary people are like this. So in particular, don't be greedy or obsessed with all kinds of love and material things in this world.Some women often come to me to tell me how her husband is...like, and then there was a woman in the Furong Jingzong Academy before. This woman was about XNUMX years old. Those fellow practitioners were very scared and had a headache when they saw her. She used to...then the vice chairman saw me to make arrangements and asked me to talk to her.

After she met with me, she really looked really weird and her personality was weird. Everyone was afraid of her. She said that she had taken sleeping pills and committed suicide before. In that coma, she saw Amitabha and Avalokitesvara. From the moment when she fell into the abyss of a realm, to rescue her, there was such a feeling that it was a thing of the past.So when she talked to me, the trouble at that time was... She said that her husband was going to divorce her. Then they had been married for ten years and had no children, and their parents did not understand her...in-laws.Looking at her personality, she is definitely not well-connected, and her interpersonal relationship is not good, and she can't solve it. She can't get along with fellow practitioners, and fellow Taoists can't get along either. Then we can imagine that her husband must be too. It was painful, so I had to divorce her.

Then I said, how about your decision?What do you think in your heart?She said that she didn’t want to leave, she is stubborn, and she still loves her husband very much, but her husband must divorce, and she still wants to have a baby, she can’t give birth for ten years, and still wants to have a baby... I just follow her Tell me: If your husband wants to leave, leave, and there are people who persuade people to get a divorce. I don't want to persuade you to listen carefully, but I said that if he insists on leaving, then you can't do it, then leave. Otherwise, why?Then if he doesn't leave his mind, then don't leave.Practitioners should be at ease, you should put your heart on the Dharma and leave everything to the Buddha and Bodhisattva to arrange.If you put your heart on the Fa today and your person changes, maybe your husband won't want to leave. If you want to leave, he won't let you go. This is only useful.If he really wants to get a divorce today, you will do everything possible, and you will not be able to keep his heart, then you are suffering over there all day, both suffering...So everyone must listen clearly. I am not trying to persuade others to divorce, I am telling Her own way of liberation.You can be at ease with the fate! We can't dominate the outside world. What can we do about the people around you?

If you really want to save him, then you can only change yourself, let him like you, and people will get a divorce. They definitely don't like you anymore, and that's the only way.It’s useless for you to cry all day and want to commit suicide, but I advise her, you still don’t want to have a baby in this direction, and don’t have to save your husband. You should put your heart on the Fa, and put yourself first. You’re physically and mentally sound, so in the process of your single-minded pursuit of the Tao, not only will you be free yourself, maybe your husband can also be saved by you. This is the real and complete solution.

Then she has a good relationship with me. Let me tell her that she can accept it. She came to ask for the five precepts that night. It’s very rare! Generally, we know that it’s very difficult for fellow practitioners to ask for the five precepts. Like the wish, the Five Precepts are just the basics of life, and they should have been received long ago. They should be received as soon as they enter Buddhism. The fellow practitioners over five years are all veterans...Old ginseng, they should receive the Bodhisattva Precepts. too slow!Twenty to thirty years ago, there is a president. I went to many places and practitioners finally asked to receive the five precepts. Many of them asked for acceptance, but the president did not ask for acceptance. So we made fun of him, made fun of him on the spot, and then after making fun To comfort me, I said: Let’s not look at people, don’t look down on them. Looking down on them is also a violation of the precepts. Each has its own causes.But we still look forward to it. The president will look back quickly and make a vow, because it won't work if you don't make fun. Everyone is kneeling there, and he is the only one standing there.

So in fact, this is just not knowing our current situation and still greedy for this world all day long. I don’t know that we are like the Three Realms Fire House mentioned in the Lotus Sutra. This house is on fire, and you are still inside. Doing things that don’t make sense.There is another one, why do we have no joy in chanting and practicing Buddha?The main thing is that we have not developed a sense of terror, and we don't know that our impermanence will fall, and in all likelihood, we will fall.These three factors are the three main obstacles that hinder us diligently and one-mindedly for survival.

For example, Hu Xiaolin belongs to this category. He really believes in cause and effect and knows that he is bound to fall. He is so scared that he can't practice without practicing. Fortunately, he didn't regret it before he appeared in the hell.He still has time, so he is very effective in practicing confession, because he believes in cause and effect, so he is very diligent in confession. Looking at it over a few years, he can not only transform himself, but also save others and prove it to everyone. This is very good. rare.Therefore, in this respect, we also give us a lesson. No matter how people Hu Xiaolin eats, drinks and has fun, he has many advantages over us. Then they know that they are bound to fall, what about us?The fall is more serious than him. People fall into eighteen levels of hell. We may have nineteen levels. Maybe we can't pretend to be. There are still twenty levels. There are too many sentient beings.

So we need to know that through these kinds of thinking and understanding, we naturally have this mind... the six faculties will come back, and we often put our mind on this Buddha sign, no matter when we are sad, when we are happy, or when a person feels Very lonely...Modern people are easily empty and have no support in their hearts, so they can't stay outside all day long, and then feel uneasy, often panic and panic, even worse when they are sick!Still being abandoned, broken in love, this being robbed... When all sorts of accidents happen, the whole person... Nowadays, many people commit suicide, but they cannot face all kinds of predicaments, and their resistance to pressure is getting worse and worse, so what? do?No one can be saved. If something really happens, sometimes even your family will run away. Your leaks are too big and people can’t help you again and again. What should I do?

Only Amitabha Buddha can help. This is true! So instead of waiting for rebirth, we will form a habit at any time before our eyes. It is right to rely on Amitabha Buddha. Even if we are very happy, no matter what the mood is, we will recite. With this Buddha sign, you can communicate with Amitabha, and you can rely on it to solve it.Then you will find different moods, the sound of the Buddha's name recites is different, sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly, sometimes it seems... You can experience it yourself. Everyone has different experiences and different moods, so read them out. This feeling is different.Then when you recite, you will naturally close the six faculties, and you will hear clearly. Different voices really express your different emotions, and you will naturally listen attentively. At that time, there is no delusion at all. You have to understand. It can be said that this paragraph has determined whether we can die or not. Most of the factors.

"There have been ten trillion Buddhas in the West.There is a world name called Bliss.There is a Buddha in its soil.Amitabha. "Do you believe it?"Believe it!Believe that your sutra is about to graduate, then we don’t need to say more, because time is limited, we also recorded a piece of "Amitabha Sutra Essentials" in Wanwan Town, Johor Bahru, but the content is not the same as what we talked about today. Please come and listen to it after you have circulated it. I won’t say much about this paragraph. As long as you believe it, I’ll talk about it. If you don’t believe it, I’ll talk a little bit, so that you can believe some content, just believe it.

Then let's look at the next paragraph: "Sariputta.If there are good men and good women.It is said that Amitabha.Hold the name. 』…Wait a moment we see the second line on page 19: “If one day.If two days.If three days.If four days.If five days.If six days.If seven days.Not chaotic.At the end of his life.Amitabha and all saints.Now it's before.It's the end of life.The heart is not upside down.Amitabha Buddha will be reborn in the land of bliss. This paragraph is very important. If we study hard, we can increase our confidence in our passing away. We will not be in a situation 2%, and we will surely pass away smoothly.

Here, if one day to if seven days, if you follow the teachings of other ancestors, this is to obtain evidence in extemporaneous periods; the origin of the seventh Buddha is based on this scripture.Then one of their practices is to treat this section of the Amitabha Sutra as practicing Kungfu on their own, and they have to prove unhappiness in seven days.Then their explanation, being undistracted, is thinking that there is no delusion, and the only one mind is only one sentence of Amitabha. We can't do this, and that is not the true and purest explanation. For the truly pure explanation, we can compare it with the "Xuan Zang translation."Our other translation has more than XNUMX words. Xuanzang's translation of this passage is not chaotic, and he translated it into a series of thoughts.As long as our minds are not chaotic, we are dedicated and not chaotic. It's good to recite the Buddha like this, and she will persuade others.That's nothing, she doesn't understand it, and she doesn't understand the truth when she's crazy, and she still uses the tone of cursing when she recites the Buddha's name.
