Dear Master Yamato’s mercy, and respectable fellow practitioners, good evening Amitabha, everyone!
Tonight is the seventh night that we are studying together here. It seems that the number of us who are about to become Buddhas is increasing. Through our studies yesterday, we have already understood that Amitabha has three special karma with us. That is: kinship, close relationship, and increased relationship.
Through this understanding, we can more deeply understand the feeling that we are getting closer and more familiar with Amitabha, and at the same time understand the way to interact with Amitabha. This medium is the six-character Hongming name, because Amitabha All of the bright merits of the Buddha are stored in this title, so yesterday through the study of the scriptures and the teachings of the master masters, we also know that only through the medium of the name of the heart can we be able to receive the light of the Buddha and receive the blessing of Amitabha.
This kind of direct induction is not available in chanting and mantras, and it is also the way Amitabha Buddha specially agreed with us. This situation is like our house has sockets everywhere, there are electricity and power, but we did not plug the sockets. We don’t use this electricity, we can’t sense it. The principle is the same.The light of Amitabha Buddha shines all over the ten directions, it does not exist all the time, and there is the light of Buddha everywhere.
But we don’t know how to receive, so now we understand that it turns out that only the name is the correct channel. At the same time, we also really understand that all the light of Amitabha is stored in this name, so we can have a deeper understanding of this name. Different experience means that it is alive, and it is not a general name. This can also increase our experience and confidence through some facts.
There is a pamphlet circulating in Taiwan. It is widely circulated. This is written by a layman. The man and his wife are both very young, only twenty-five years old. Both of them are devout Buddhist cultivators, and they belong to a Buddhist family. .Then one day his wife was reciting the Buddha in the sutra in the morning. This was their own scheduled lesson. Then when she was doing the sutra outside the house, she suddenly saw a round light on her head, just like we saw A circle of light is usually drawn on the back of the Buddha statue. She also has it on her body. She finds it very strange, but she also thinks that it may be related to the name.
Then, in order to prove it further, she deliberately didn't recite the Buddha name, and the Buddha name stopped. As a result, the circle light immediately disappeared. After a while, she continued to recite. When she continued to recite, the circle light appeared again, because it was so obvious. So they took the initiative to record this incident, and it circulated widely in Taiwan.
Then this evidence can also explain to us that it is true that this light is placed in the name, to see if we understand or not to ingest, if we only regard it as a cold object of a meditation condition, or Ordinary names, of course, we can’t be in touch with him; so next we have to learn how to recite this Buddha name, so that we can interact with Amitabha as soon as possible, and be able to receive the blessing of light. .

Why are we not easy to sense?It’s not easy to have Dharma joy when reciting Buddha?First of all, we have to eliminate some obstacles and find out the reasons. Then I sum up there are about four reasons. One is what we just talked about. We don't realize the vitality of this name!In the past, we all knew Wan Dehong's name. This is the representative of many merits, but this level is limited to the scope of knowing. We know things, but we can't feel it in our hearts.
So now through our study of the scriptures, we know that light is one with the name, and that light is wisdom and the life of Amitabha Buddha, so we can now feel more of the special place of this name. He has life's!Then the impression will be different. If the impression is different, the taste of reading will be different. We have to understand this carefully.
Secondly, although we have been reciting the Buddha for a long time, in fact we are not familiar with Amitabha. If you want to ask you, your family or your other half, what is his (her) personality?What are his (her) habits and characteristics?You can make it very clear, but if you ask about Amitabha, how is he different from other Buddhas?What are his characteristics?I'm afraid we can't even tell it. Old Xiu is the same. At most, he can recite the "Blessed Life Sutra" very well, and recite the "Forty-Eight Wishes" to others.
We really want to treat Amitabha Buddha as a person, because we are humans. It seems easier for us to understand a person. If we want to understand a Buddha and feel that it is above all, it is difficult to understand Him. Then we can regard Amitabha Buddha as A person, first try to correspond with him from a human perspective, and generate a sense of familiarity.So we can’t be happy when we recite the Buddha, and there is no way to interact with Buddha Amitabha. Through this Buddha name, we are not familiar with Buddha Amitabha in our hearts. This is what we have been emphasizing a few days ago that we have to find a way to have a relationship with Buddha Amitabha. Very familiar and intimacy.There are a lot of specific materials. Through the teaching methods of the Pure Land Three Classics and the teachings of the Patriarch's Great Virtue, the forty-eight vows issued by him, we can all experience it. The most important thing is to use our heart.
So the forty-eight vows we have recorded recently, especially guide fellow practitioners to truly understand Amitabha from the subtle points, so this part, especially the content that Amitabha himself proclaimed to us by the Blessed One, must be To read it familiarly, we don’t just listen to the scriptures once, or watch a movie. Oh, after watching it, we know, at least we have to watch it fifty or a hundred times. You’re very familiar with it, so you know how to use it. After you speak your language, then this sutra can be considered as learned.So we have to study the scriptures like this, we continue to practice every day, we can’t listen to... listen to it once, listen to it for a day, and then after several days, open it to listen to it, then you won’t be able to connect. Ah, listening to the scriptures must be revised every day, until you are very familiar with it until you learn, then you can change to another one or another homework, so that you can have a sense of familiarity in your heart every day, not just about the scriptures. It is to be able to follow the text to observe, following what is said in the text, to truly appreciate the content.

The third reason is that we are always greedy for this world. It is difficult for ordinary people to admit, saying: "Oh, this world is so miserable, I want to die soon." In fact, this is all self-deception!We ordinary people are like this. It is not enough to lie to others, but to lie to ourselves and not to admit it.You see, when we wake up in the morning, we start to plan what we want to do today...especially when we are going to spend money on holidays, go shopping, or go on vacation. That kind of mood is so happy, where can it be bitter?How would you want to go to Paradise.
No matter what, don’t talk about holidays. In your usual days, you’re planning where you’re going to eat well after get off work and what you’re going to do. You must have some ideas every day...what you want to do, but these things are the same. It has nothing to do with Amitabha, it has nothing to do with the Paradise of Bliss. Think about it for yourself?Then people ask you if you want to go to Paradise? "Yes, this world is so miserable... I want to go." Just talk about it. It's really like this. Nine out of ten are like this.So this is our biggest obstacle. We really have to admit this. We have greed for this world. The most important thing is the greed for the five desires. Especially the kind of lover women are so serious that they often have no way to die. The attachments can’t be taken off, and the world’s things and other substances can’t normally be let go. When you’re dying, you can’t let go. At that time, it’s okay to let go, but it’s hard to let go of the attachments in your heart. .
Not long ago, I was in a purgatory society in Malacca, Furong. I went to see the president’s wife. She came to tell me that there is a president’s mother who usually recites the Buddha very hard. She actually recites Amitabha before her death, but it is here. In the future, she still had a scorpion that she couldn't put down, so she asked Amitabha to wait for a while. Amitabha waited for her for more than five hours. What is she doing with this person?She was waiting for her granddaughter to take the plane back to see the last time. She didn’t want to go because she had chanted for so long, but in fact, this kind of inner attachment, a kind of human attachment is beyond her own imagination, she just has to. When she comes back, she will be willing to be willing, and Amitabha will not leave after he has come!So we can't underestimate our hearts. Sometimes when you have a thought, your attachment to little things will hinder your death. Later, Amitabha waited for more than five hours and then left. She did not die.
Why can you wait for more than five hours and leave?It’s because as long as we cling to the beginning of this cause, this cause may expand. She has been waiting and waiting until at the end she just won’t go. Her desire for life has been cut off. She has to wait for her granddaughter to come back to see the last time. No, that's why we ordinary people, this attachment force is terrible, the karma is incredible, and the karma of sentient beings is incredible, according to the Buddhist scriptures.Therefore, we usually have to be very careful about this part, and let it go as soon as possible, and let it go from the heart.

Women often come to talk to me and complain about her husband... Some women in Furong not long ago were very afraid of her. Even the president and vice presidents couldn’t do anything about it, about thirty or so. Years old, had committed suicide.Then I happened to go, and the vice chairman hurriedly seized this opportunity to ask me to enlighten her, because everyone was afraid to see her and wanted to help her. The trouble was too heavy, and the depression in my heart seemed to be quite serious.
Later, she came to see me, and she told me that she had been married for ten years, and her husband had recently divorced her. She had not had any children in these ten years, and her parents-in-law did not understand her, so the family has not been happy, maybe Recently, her husband could not bear it and insisted on divorcing her; she told me that she wanted to commit suicide, and I said, "What about your intentions? Do you want to divorce?" She said she didn't want to, and she still wanted to have a child. Child!I said, "You haven't been able to give birth for ten years. You still want to give birth now? Are you still obsessed? You are already in your thirties. This is an elderly woman, so obsessive."
She said that she had committed suicide once before, but that time when she was in a coma, she saw that she seemed to have fallen into an abyss and kept falling down. Then in the process of her coma, she saw Amitabha and Guanyin Bodhisattva go She was rescued. If it weren't for Amitabha and Guanyin Bodhisattva, she would have died long ago, and it was likely that she had fallen into three ways, and she would probably have gone to hell.In fact, the retribution is terrible, unimaginable terrible!Don't move this kind of thought.Fortunately, I didn’t die at that time, but after so long, there was no way to break through this barrier. Then I told her, "You have the ability to commit suicide, and you should have the ability to survive!", I said, "Now all When is the time? It’s more important to die as soon as possible. What's more, Amitabha will save you, be predestined with you, and be predestined with Buddhism.” She couldn’t think about it for a while.
I said, "If your husband wants to divorce you, you should divorce him, and then divorce, just to recite the Buddha well. Whether he wants to divorce or not, it’s all right. Follow the cause and conditions. Don’t have any thoughts on your own. The most important thing is to be able to achieve Dao Karma. When we are able, you have to come back on your wish, you have to give birth to a few children, you have to have another..., today your husband is going to divorce you, which shows that your karma is very serious. , I can’t stand you, right? You really don’t want your husband to divorce you. Then you should cheer up, practice hard, and let yourself become a loved one, your husband, you don’t want to leave him I’m willing, so you have to start from yourself, not begging outside. It’s useless if you ask. If he really wants to leave, you can’t help it. Even if you don’t sign, his heart is not on your body. If you don’t go home, what do you do? There is no way. Or, after all, you work hard and transform yourself first. Maybe you will be sure of your death. Then your husband will turn around for some reason. It’s all possible. A path that can truly be liberated.".
Later, after finishing the lecture at that time, at the end of the lecture, the three precepts of refuge were taught. She also took the initiative to ask for the five precepts. The whole person should have changed a lot. Suddenly, she wanted to open it. This is also blessed by the Buddha. Our clinging to this kind of attachment is often just a single thought, and it’s stuck there. You calm down and think about it... Go and get attached, what do you want to get attached to?What is there to be attached to that we can really possess?If you think about it carefully, the more you possess, it actually restrains you.
You are really going to have a baby, you are half your life, and then you have to take care of the baby for the rest of your life, to be a cow and a horse, and to take care of your grandchildren. It’s endless. You have so much energy and you won’t be in the Three Treasures. To be a volunteer?Cultivation of true blessings, pure blessings, there is no pressure in your heart, and no one will suffer for you. Everyone praises you: "Wow...this Bodhisattva with the intention", so all beings just can’t think about it, and find hardship for themselves. .Therefore, when we ask for everything, our greed for this heart will become weaker and weaker. It is not difficult to change the thoughts and directions. She looks different on the day, and her mind turns to the whole person. It's all different, Nian Nian wanted to commit suicide.In fact, it’s really not difficult. Ask for the blessings of the Buddha. As long as we can see that one of our biggest obstacles is our inner greed for the world, when we see this and find a way to turn our thoughts around, then we will be very happy when we recite the Buddha. , And soon be able to interact with Amitabha Buddha.

Let’s come to the fourth point, that is, most of us have no way to truly appreciate that our time is short, time is short and impermanent. Everyone is not deep in the sense of impermanence. Really impermanence comes. We ten Eight or nine will fall to three ways!Everyone does not have that kind of alertness, so we can't be scared and don't know how to hurry up. We often feel that time is really not enough. What we lack is not money, not any material. What we lack is time, we must hurry up. Time, otherwise, once we fall into the Three Ways, it is not that simple to get out and leave.
There used to be an Arahant entering Ding, and in Dingzhong, he saw the scene that he had fallen into hell in his past life. He was so scared that he was bleeding and sweating all over his body. He really had this kind of physiological reaction.Then you see, from morning till night, when are we not selfish when we start to think?And most of it is because of a lot of evil thoughts, and I didn't notice it carefully.Hu Xiaolin himself has a good academic degree, graduate student, and good eloquence. He used to spend his life in a silly life. He spent time and drink every day, so he didn't use his head well. Although he was very clever, he was often not sober.
I have been encountering the Pure Land Method, the old monk’s cause and condition, because he has good aptitude. When he encounters the condition, he immediately realizes that his karma is too heavy. He is afraid of death. He believes in the cause and effect that he learns Buddhism. It doesn’t necessarily mean that he wants to become a Buddha immediately, and learns to become a Buddha. This is not necessarily true. According to what he said, he was afraid, and he believed that he would definitely fall into the three paths to give birth to this kind of cloth. He dare not slack off if he is afraid, not only has to make a wish to survive and escape to the bliss, but he can't slack off because there is not much time.
This is for perceptive people to know. We generally don't have a deep understanding, so we will pass day by day. Most of the time is reincarnation karma!We don’t have our heart and mind thinking about reciting the Buddha. We don’t have any heart and mind thinking about how to deepen our faith and desire. On the contrary, we will become more and more greedy for some people and things in the world. This direction is going in the opposite direction, so we have to always do this. Raise this alert.Well, we know these reasons why we are unable to recite the Buddha, and we have to eliminate them in particular. This is what we usually have to do on our own, and we often have to remind ourselves.

So when we are chanting Buddha, we still don’t have a deep sense of it. How do we chant?First of all, we must be able to realize that we are indeed very heavy with karma. Many fellow practitioners can understand that there is a scripture in the "Pu Xian Xing Yuan Ping". Let us read it again: "Speaking to confess the karma, the Bodhisattva Thinking of me in the past endless calamities, from greed, hatred, ignorance, body, mouth, and thought, to do all evil karma, boundless. If this evil karma has a physical appearance, it will not be tolerated in the void world. I now know that I will purify the three karma, all At the very small moment of the Dharma realm, all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will sincerely repent and will not be remade afterwards. Persevere and purify all merits." We see this paragraph first.
From this passage, we can see that the karma created in our beginningless karma, if this evil karma has a physical aspect, it is impossible to tolerate in the Void Realm, and cannot hold it!Our karma, our evil karma is so huge, so when we first chanted the Buddha, we must use repentance to recite the Buddha. We still don’t have a deep sense of feeling, and we can’t give birth to Dharma happiness. That’s because our karma has returned. It hasn't disappeared, wisdom hasn't opened up, and it's not sensed, so it's best to recite the Buddha with a penitent heart.
If your karma hasn’t been eliminated, you won’t be able to practice Kungfu, and if we understand that our karma is profound, we must practice repentance every day, repent of the karma, know how to feel ashamed, and recite the name of the Buddha in a repentant mood, and recite one sentence after another. You don't have to use some tunes to set the chanting, you can just recite it directly: Amitabha, Amitabha... Or: Nammo Amitabha, four or six characters are fine.It seems to be telling Amitabha from the heart. This is called confession, telling Amitabha how many karma we have, but you don’t have to say the same thing, you can’t say the same thing, you can’t finish it, it’s endless. .
In your own mind, it seems that you are confessing to Amitabha Buddha, but in the form of recitation, you can just recite the Buddha's name. You can recite with this mood. If you are very attentive and sincere, you really want Confession, indeed, please calm down and think about it, the story of our life, we have been sorry for someone, what we did wrong, let’s think about it a little bit... you will find a lot of stories in three or five minutes, and then use this I am in the mood to confess to Amitabha...please repent.
Ask Amitabha Buddha to help us eliminate these karma and the bad ties with these people. Ask Amitabha Buddha to help us eliminate them. If you recite with this mood, you may cry for five or ten minutes, and you will be able to recite. You are very attentive. You don’t need to practice Kungfu to naturally generate concentration. This is something that we naturally devote ourselves to doing. Of course, we will concentrate. This kind of repentant mood comes to recite the Buddha, every day. You have to do it all, then when the karma is relatively eliminated and you become grateful, then of course you will... you can follow the mood at the time, different moods, and you can use that mood to recite the Buddha.

For example, a person often feels lonely, very disturbed, and lonely. Modern people are like this. A common problem is that they have no sustenance in their hearts and often feel very empty in their hearts. Therefore, women like to shop, buy things and eat and drink, and then men. I like to invest in my career, develop continuously, or socialize. I am always busy all day long. I don’t know what I’m doing. Everyone is busy. In fact, the busier the person, the more empty his heart is. Need to find a lot of things to sustenance, the person who is truly at peace of mind, wow...he is very leisurely, and that is very different at first glance.
People in the world are busy all day long, and time is never enough, but the troubles are never reduced. In fact, it is inner restlessness. So if we feel unpleasant in our hearts and can’t tell the reason, restless, we want to find something to do. At that time, you can recite the Buddha as soon as possible. Only the Buddha's name can soothe our hearts. When we recite Amitabha, we already know that as long as we recite him, he is in our hearts and by our side, and the light can shine on us immediately. Because we already understand this matter, so when we read, we know that it will have this effect.
If you say this for five or ten minutes, you will feel very strong, your heart will no longer be restless, you don't want to run out, you don't need to run out to find a spiritual sustenance or comfort, you don't need it at all.You will feel full and stable in your heart, and you will not feel lonely. Then you will communicate with Amitabha through this process of chanting, because we know that he is alive!Amitabha Buddha lives in this name. When we recite the Buddha, we are communicating with Him with our hearts. We are communicating with Him. We don’t just read it with our mouth. It has no taste at all. We have to imagine and understand this sentence. The name of Buddha is Amitabha, as if he was standing in front of us.
Then you communicate with Him, make friends with Him, and associate with Him. Why are you boring?Also ran out.People nowadays are very dangerous. If you go out and make friends, you will be cheated. It's very dangerous. It's safer to associate with the Buddha. That's true. The Buddha will definitely help us and love us.You can also use this...just like we were making boy and girl friends at the beginning of...when we were dating, we can imagine that during this first love, we would think of each other every day, and use this mood to recite...miss Amitabha. Regardless of whether you have time to sati, we must have a Buddha in our hearts.
That’s because you’re not familiar with Amitabha Buddha. If you think about him as if you are not accustomed to it all at once, you can use the transfer method to imagine that when you were in love in the past, you missed each other all the time and had a meal. After the chat, I went home. I was still thinking about it on the road. I didn't forget it. I had to think about it again before going to bed. The first thing I woke up, or when I thought about the person, I had to turn that mood around. Indeed, this is fine.
Like we are all used to it, before we used to make connections at home and abroad, many like this...For example, in Malaysia, we arranged...one or two months as soon as the arrangement was arranged, and each place had a three-day or five-day itinerary, and then I went to Singapore again, to Indonesia and then to the mainland, so I often wake up in the morning and think, "Hey? Which country am I in? Which region am I in?" I usually think about it this way, but in the end I don't think about it anymore, even letting go of this thought, no matter where it is, it is more important to think about Amitabha, so in the end, come together in the morning, and the first thought is still about Amitabha.
We want to miss Amitabha Buddha to such an extent that we always pay attention to it.
