Dear president, merciful, and respectable fellow practitioners, good evening everyone, Amitabha!
At the end of last week, I studied with you at the Jingzong Society of Dashanjiao, Northern Malaysia. At that time, I mentioned our Furong Jingzong Society there. What did you mention?Mentioned the attitude of our fellow practitioners from the Furong Jingzong Society attending the scriptures.
Among the dozen or so nearly XNUMX Malaysian dojos I have been acquainted with, people rank second. Who is the first? Of course, it’s Bukit Mertajam. Standing here, first admire them first, but this There is also a basis, they are really the first.
In this ceremony of inviting teachers, the people who invited teachers saw at least XNUMX to XNUMX people lined up in two rows, which reminded me that I started to talk about that kind of aura in Jushilin.I said that your place is one-size-smaller Hu Shilin.
And before the opening of the scriptures for the three prayers of the Buddha, the fellow practitioners had already sat full, everyone arrived early, and the atmosphere of the whole listening to the scriptures was very good.It has only been established there for more than four years. This may have a relatively strong mind for beginners, and the Buddha will be in front of him for a year of studying Buddhism.
But our fellow practitioners in Furong are also very good. I mentioned to them why Furong is the second place, because this is compared to other societies. After about half an hour after the beginning of the seminar, there are still people coming in one after another. But we On Furong’s side, it is divided into two stages. The first stage is before the three prayers to the Buddha. It is also true that about two-thirds of the practitioners are already there. After the three prayers, they walk to the podium and close their eyes. Let's meditate first, then wait until the eyes are open, wow! The back is full, and it’s nice to divide it into two batches.
The atmosphere in other places is much worse, so most of the other places I talked about are mostly old societies. They really have studied Buddhism for three years, and the Buddha has turned into a cloud of smoke, so can I get the benefits of listening to the Dharma? From these details It can be seen.So our fellow practitioners here are very blessed, because we are usually very diligent in chanting.This society once recited more than a dozen books, XNUMX books, and finished it in two days, reciting XNUMX books of "Blessed Life Sutra". It is such a blessing power! It can keep everyone's spirits unrelenting.
Otherwise, you see that our fellow practitioners here in Malaysia have such a great blessing, and there are often masters who talk about it, so if you see more masters and listen to more, people will think it’s not surprising. It’s easy to lose that kind of respect and don’t understand. Cherish.Unless you really keep the rhythm of working hard, you can really have fun from the process.In this case, of course, the Dao industry is growing.Not everyone will retreat as they learn, that is, they usually don’t work diligently, even when they are beginning to learn, their heart is not very true, and they will retreat in all likelihood.
So now, because the final school will be busy with some things in the dojo from this year onwards, and in the future, I will be able to establish dharma with you. It may be two to three days in other places, so we will also arrange a three-day course this time. .Three days, in fact, we have already benefited a lot for our fellow practitioners, because everybody can maintain regular diligence and hard work, so occasionally there will be a master to cheer everyone up. In fact, this is enough for everyone to discuss together...

(XNUMX) Everyone has a share in the top grades of the pure land of the rebirth
Then this time we are going to study the "Guanjing Shangpin Shangsheng Chapter", which continues before us, the last time we came to study, we came here to form a relationship, we talked about the forty-eight vows, and talked about the thoughts of Master Shandao. At that time, there were many Fellow practitioners, after hearing this, they all have faith in the death.
Now a few months later, we will do a questionnaire survey on the spot. Those who are confident in their lives, please raise their hands.You are welcome, ah! They are all coming back! I raised my hand last time, I have forgotten it, I remember that I came to Malaysia last year for many societies. Everyone had no confidence on the first day. I heard the last day!Raised hands in nine out of ten.
The foundation has been laid at that time, and at least the confidence in the rebirth has been improved. This time we continue to study this "Upper Grade Shangsheng Chapter", the main purpose is to enhance our confidence in the quality of our rebirth, don’t think about...Oh, if I can lower the grade To be born as Amitabha, this concept needs to be adjusted. As long as our concept is correct, our practice can really accomplish what we want. If you have a small amount of confidence in yourself and insufficient confidence in the Dharma, then you will get little reward. This concept also requires everyone to conduct a discussion.
Then I hope that during these three days of lectures, we can help every one of our fellow practitioners, not only to have confidence in dying, but also to be able to achieve high-grade rebirth. Don’t hear your ideals. Oh, I can’t even think about it. If this goal is not achieved... When we talk this time, the lecture will not make much sense. We only need to listen to it if we can get the results!Just want to learn!This principle is the same as the teachings of the Three Tibetans and the Twelve Books of the World Honored One, and the content of every sutra he speaks can definitely benefit all beings in the world of Saha, so he will speak.
The key is whether we know how to absorb, understand, and learn in the right way.So first of all, everyone hope, oh, after these three days, I will be top-grade ascendant. First, remove the obstacles. If you want to...Oh, I want to hear about getting married, you may wait until you start to feel that you can get top-grade ascent. At the time of interest, this lecture is about to end.Back then, I’m afraid I can’t remember what I heard.
So starting from the first day of ours, we have to prick up our ears, and we have to be big-hearted to get the most benefit.This cause is very hard to come by, because I don’t want to talk about this scripture, because the last time, last year, I mainly studied the "Forty-eight Vows of the Immeasurable Life Sutra", so if the forty-eight vows can be understood and mastered, in fact, you will have confidence in your death. , Then this faith in rebirth is actually enough, and it doesn’t matter if you learn other things or not.
So the next trip, like mine for the next month, until next year, I will teach you the precepts.After we have faith in our rebirth, we will start to lay the foundation from the precepts, and we will continue to lay a solid foundation from this root. Therefore, I did not consider talking about this "Shangpin Shangsheng Chapter".
Why? It is a kind of deeper and better improvement in the theory and method of our Pure Land teachings. If you listen to this teaching method, people who have no foundation in our Pure Land teaching method may think it is more...because of the theoretical nature. There are a lot of things, not necessarily understandable.But I will try my best to make it plain and plain so that everyone can understand it, but because it is a study of theory and methods, everyone should listen carefully and understand it better.But fortunately, some of our old bodhisattvas have good concepts about this. Our fellow practitioners here have laid a solid foundation.So our study this time should be in line with everyone's foundation.

(XNUMX) Letting go of all destiny is the real major practitioner
So last week when I was in Bukit Mertajam’s fortune, a fellow practitioner happened to send me a text message from Singapore. He told me the old monk’s death memorial ceremony at the Korean curator on March XNUMXth. He had Announce a verse, then he called after sending the text message, his tone was very nervous, he told me that I should hurry up, if there is anything to tell the old monk, hurry up! Time is running out! I said is it so serious?
Just look at the verse recently announced by the old monk. After I watched it at the time, I really felt it! At the end of last year...every year old monk came to Singapore routinely, so I also attended these welcome parties and welcome banquets. .Then everyone was spreading it... It was for a while that the old monk said that the old monk would die after the end of the new year.
So the fellow practitioners were very nervous at that time, and it seemed that the end of the world was about to come. Many fellow practitioners were very excited, but when I heard the news, I thought it was impossible. The old monk would not leave so fast. I was leaving in the next year. What a joke, I didn't have any thoughts at all. He really was at the welcome party. At the welcome banquet, the old monk said that he would not leave. He hasn't finished speaking yet.
But this time, fellow practitioners passed this verse to me, and I feel it! It doesn't mean that I am leaving soon.But his mood is in this verse.Suddenly, this feeling made me look at it very formally, so I also brought it up here, and let fellow practitioners share: "I was wasted for eighty-five years, and the future is running out. Sixty years of studying Buddhism, five performances Thirteen. Promoting wisdom and fate, Hua Yan and Dharma. The Great Scriptures Interpretation of the Romance, to provide for those who are predestined. The world is born in the world, see through the Dharma, and let go. Reject from the predestined people, and exclusively recite Amitabha. Survive in a pure land, everything becomes a Buddha Shangqi Jian Yucheng, I am a true lotus friend. Jingkong Jinbai." Did the fellow practitioners feel that when they heard this verse?
Are we the old monk true lotus friends? Especially the first half of the verse is to explain the current situation of the old monk. He is eighty-five years old this year. Then he studied the time of Buddhism and his main points of teaching "Hua Yan" and "Fa Hua" , "Da Jing Jie Yan Yi".This representative "Hua Yan" and "Fa Hua" represent all the Mahayana classics. The old monk has taught almost all the Mahayana classics throughout his life.Finally, I return to "The Great Classics Jie Yanyi" and use the Mahayana method to support the destined.
This is the first half, and the second half makes me feel that he "is out of the world, see through and let go." On the one hand, he persuades us to let go of all destiny as soon as possible. On the other hand, it is also his own state of mind.This is my feeling. Of course, it’s clearer to ask him personally, but when I saw it, I felt that when the old monk thought of writing this verse, there might be some fate that made him feel it, so the world came out of the world. He needs to be able to see through and let go, and both can see through and let go. Therefore, "decline to be connected with the people, and chant exclusively Amitabha, and live in a pure land."

(Part XNUMX) Letting go of all destiny is the real great spiritual practitioner
It may be a state of mind here! We often do, and I often have this idea myself.Oops, the world is really five turbid and evil! Although we can see all the realms, we can all view the sky, and we can talk about this sky view, so even in adversity! We will not have too much trouble.
But it is true that what we see in terms of things, whether it is the human heart or the environment, almost always makes us feel very disappointed! So this kind of mood often arises, and I really want to let it go! Then Don't be connected with the crowd, and concentrate on chanting Amitabha! We see through this, let go, see all the laws in this world, see through, because we feel disappointed, nothing is worthy of nostalgia! Nothing is true, it is all false.
But fortunately, we chanting Buddhas have a reliance in our hearts. If we don’t nostal and cling to a delusion, our hearts still have something to rely on.Then we can devote ourselves to chanting Amitabha, and we can live in a pure land. We still have a way of liberation. This is really a blessing in misfortune.But if this part of the state of mind is to be able to describe it, it is difficult to tell. I have a bit of experience.
In this state of mind, everyone has the opportunity to read this verse. What kind of state of mind is this? If you can see through this world, how can you see through it?If you are now indulged in a very restless state of five desires and six dusts, you cannot see through it, you have been persistent! You always feel that there is something to pursue, and there is something you can pursue, and you cannot see through it.
You certainly can’t see through it. If you can see through, you have already seen the five evil worlds in this world clearly, and there is a state of mind that you have to see through and let go. What kind of state of mind is this? It’s definitely not beautiful! But it’s also very clear. , The state of enlightenment! Then it is the second half to truly get the happiness of liberation! Then we must really concentrate on the Amitabha and live in a pure land, so that we can get a complete pure state.
You have not left yet, even if you are liberated internally, theoretically, and things are not yet complete, everyone's situation is not just the old monk, let alone we are not as liberated as the old monk! Our directors are all suffering, It's not complete.So this is our current situation. If we really take a very serious attitude to take this reminder from the old monk.
Are we really old monk lotus friends, oh.. real lotus buddies! See our mind behavior is different from the old monk, our mood is different from the old monk? If so, then we can be regarded as the old monk's method! The method may not necessarily follow the old monk. By my side, as long as we become a monk at home, as long as our mind and behavior are the same as the teacher, we are all methods of teaching the Fa, so after seeing this passage, oh, I have a lot of special feelings!!

(XNUMX of XNUMX) The real great spiritual practitioner is to let go of all destiny
After the last few days, I will go to Muar. I have a chance to record. I want to record a disc, and then I will also submit it to the old monk to read. It also means that we will be a student’s study report. On the one hand, I also hope that the elderly can feel that, in fact, many of our fellow practitioners not only hope that the old monk can live for a long time, but also hope that his elderly can be a little relieved about his propaganda, a result of enlightenment.Although we have deep karma and are not very effective in learning, in fact, many fellow practitioners are trying their best to improve themselves and hope that the results of learning can be used for the elderly.
So the most important thing is that we are genuine, and through the blessings of these teachers, we can get a great improvement and change in our hearts and behaviors, not just just listen.Look at this verse, if you keep reading it five times ten times, the experience is different and you will be very moved.Especially if you look at our old monk, he is willing to talk about Buddha for XNUMX years and teach about XNUMX times. We look at it easily.
Sixty years have not arrived yet! And there are such results, this is all bloody, all along the way, there are blood and tears, it is not that simple, because my own learning process is also different from the old The monk is a bit similar.In our old monk's life, you see that there are many people who admire general and slander. It is inevitable in this world. There is no eminent monk, who has not been slandered, why things are so popular in this world.
After I graduated, I also often formed Dharma bonds with everyone, and I also participated in school. I am not a flower in the greenhouse, and I dare not even think about it! I try to exercise as much as possible, so it is true that the longer I study, the more I can experience his old man. This kind of learning process really makes us respect.
I feel that the old monk is really great, a kind of inner heart... In addition to being able to face so many waves without being overthrown, he can face so many storms and waves without being overthrown, so at the same time he has to develop bodhichitta. You see how difficult it is for sentient beings to teach now. Don’t say that he wants to pay back to sentient beings. It’s not bad if he doesn’t bite you back. I have troubles all my life. Oh, it’s all the fault of the teacher. He didn’t teach me well. There will be people like this. There are so many! So sentient beings, who dares to save sentient beings?
We don't dare to devote ourselves to saving sentient beings, sentient beings are terrible, and we have no patience, there is no way! The sentient beings are not deliberate, the troubles are too heavy, and we are helpless with karma! We know this very well.But in fact, do we really teach sentient beings?It's not easy. The old monk persisted for so long, and the adversity faced by us is beyond our imagination.We can only experience this a little bit, so we really feel more and more that the compassion of the old monk is also great.

(XNUMX) Dedicated to benefit all beings
So in order to see this verse in detail, I would like to have a more action to express a spirit of diligence. At the beginning of this year, we also bought a piece of land in the Furong area. The mountain is on the mountain. With six acres of land, I really want to retreat and recite the Buddha.This idea came up almost at the end of last year, and sometimes I mentioned it to fellow practitioners in the society.
Coupled with the verse of the old monk, such an announcement, this determination is even stronger.Last year, I also mentioned that the old monk was leaving on December 2012, 12. He called us fellow practitioners and set the date on the day we foresee, and started to calculate from that time. Oh, these two Countdown to the year.
How I have been there for the past two years? Of course, the real behavior must be forbidden to recite the Buddha. This is the most diligent and most consummate one.It's the easiest for a family member to do it, but try to move in this direction as much as possible. This is a way of real diligence. Then after having this chanting and planning, this fate, this fate will soon appear.
So at the beginning of this year, we were interested. We bought this piece of land in Furong, and it is now under construction. Then it shouldn't take long for half a year and we can start to apply it locally.In principle, we are usually forbidden to recite the Buddha, and we are really desperate, letting go of everything, and waiting for Amitabha to come and lead us.
On ordinary holidays, because we have to take care of those beginners who have not yet matured their roots, we will also have this pilgrimage to the mountain, three steps and one worship. Those who have not yet learned enough to say that the karma is more serious, and we have to follow everyone. Visiting the mountain to worship the Buddha to eliminate karma, this is occasional, originally on a holiday, so if there is a cause, we will follow us to worship the Buddha in three steps and pray to the mountain.
Well, this place, this fellow practitioner, and the cause of our place in Malaysia, let’s also briefly explain that we are also fellow practitioners in Malaysia. Last year, because we heard and listened to the teachings of the Master Shandao several times, it was born into the rebirth. Confidence, then we will make further efforts to benefit more people.
People who are already truly confident can't just chant Buddha in their lives, so they motivated, and we can provide such an environment to help everyone have an environment where they can truly diligently work hard and let go of all destiny, this diligent work hard. , Then he hopes to be led by me, because he is only associated with me.

(XNUMX) Loaded Tathagata Family Business
But for the time being, I will take up this burden first, because it turns out that I am unwilling to take on the work of the leader, the leader of the dojo.I was too busy to give lectures, but after a period of observation, I found that he really wanted to do this, and we shouldn’t stop others from cultivating good fortune and benefiting the public.
So I’ll write it down first, but I’m still observing it, because I hope that it can be truly led by a monk and the most outstanding, because according to the Buddha’s ordination teachings, the Buddhist sangha should be led by the bhikkhu. Exceptionally, if there is no bhikkhu, then bhikshuni, if there is no bhikkhu, bhikkhuni, then there will be bodhisattva ordination lay figures to receive the crowd.
For the sake of overall consideration and overall solemnity, we want this Buddhism, this monk group to be able to live and lead forever. The Sangha group represents the Buddha's living and spreading the Dharma, so this considers the whole solemnity! I don't have this idea, then The first ideal person I thought of was Dr. Zhong Maosen.If there is a destiny in the future, we can invite him to serve as our host, that’s great!
But don’t think that he is a layman. I went to Hong Kong to visit the old monk in October last year. I also met him at the time. Because we knew each other 10 years ago and had some fate. Then I saw his hair cut. It was very short, cut to two points, I was shocked, and I said: You are going to be a monk! I just said casually, but he nodded his head unexpectedly, then if the cause is mature, alas, he will be out in the future. Home is Bhikkhu, Master Bhikkhu after receiving the ordination.
Well, if he came here for a reason, then the fellow practitioners in our Furong area would be even more blessed, and they can get close.There is a teacher Cai in Kuala Lumpur, and there is also a Dr. Chung in Furong. Wow, you see that your blessings are great! But this is an idea, and it is not always possible for the cause or fate to happen, but after we think about this idea, it is everything. There are Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to arrange.

(XNUMX) Kaiding ancient and modern "Guanjing Si Tie Shu"
Then what we have to study in these three days is "Guanjing Shangpin Shangsheng Chapter". We will learn the verses of this chapter to Consummation in these three days, and there is not much text.Then fellow practitioners may be relatively unfamiliar with this content. Old monks have talked about it in the past, but because the old monks mainly promote the "Blessed Life Sutra", then if you have not heard the contents of this "Guan Sutra", don’t do it. I feel like, is it different there? To be able to understand that this sutra helps us improve, if the content is similar, then there is nothing to improve.
Everyone should understand this mentality. What's more, what we have to learn is based on the four posts of Master Shandao. It is not based on my meaning. I dare not have any meaning. The four posts explain this "Guan Jing"--" "The Contents of the Buddhist Scriptures of Immortality", there are many viewpoints in this four-post narration, which are quite different from those of other ancestors who explained the Pure Land theory and practice, so after listening to everyone, if they feel like what we have heard in the past, It's a bit different, so don't say that I made a mistake, it is the meaning of Master Shandao.
Then his book is called "Kai Ding Gu Jin". Gu Dade treats it as a classic and respectfully learns it. That is to say, he wants to clarify that other patriarchs explain the Pure Land Sutra theory. If there are mistakes or insatisfactions, correct them.That's why it is called Kaiding, Kaiding is Kaizheng, Kaiding is a conclusion, a decisive conclusion, and a standard answer.So the purpose of his writing this memorial is like this, so of course there will be some opinions that are different from other patriarchs.

(XNUMX) The true core practice of "Guan Jing"
What we have heard in the past, the old monk sometimes said according to different annotations, such as according to the different sects of Tiantai Sect, Huayan Sect, and Weishi. There are different teachings. The old monk also follows the great virtues of the patriarch. As far as writing is concerned, it is not his own intention. It is stated and not written, so everyone should listen to the Fa objectively. Only in this way can you increase your wisdom.
For example, listen to...why the more you listen to the more contradictory places, after we really learn it, we will know the Three Sutras of Pure Land: "The Sutra of Infinite Life", "Amitabha Sutra" and "The Sutra of Infinite Life". The core theory is exactly the same.In fact, there is no contradiction in itself. If you don't learn well, then you just look at the superficial words, which are really different.
For example, we think the "Blessed Life Sutra" is the easiest. It has always been bodhicitta and has always been dedicated to meditation. Then it is difficult to practice the "Guan Sutra". Actually, it is not. You can do it if you want to. The sixteen views can be practiced. But it is not the true core practice of "Guan Jing". The true core practice of "Guan Jing" is also to recite the Buddha, and it is also "rehearsing the Buddha with a name." Then this is the most complete and clearest thing that Master Shandao said, and the ancestors of other sects did not. To so fine.
So in fact, "Guan Jing" has two purposes. One is to cultivate the samādhi of Buddhism and the other is to cultivate the samādhi of Buddhism. Both of these are possible. After seeing the holy realm, there was a monk in the realm to assist him and instruct him to teach him the profound knowledge.Of course, we think he is Amitabha who came again. Therefore, later generations regarded this sutra as taught by Amitabha himself, and only regarded it as a guide for the ancient and the modern! Respect as the sutra! Therefore, in every scripture, even in the "Four Tie Shu" of Master Shandao, every word of us is treated as an imperial edict. With this kind of learning mentality, we will soon be able to gain the benefits of learning.Why do some fellow practitioners have been in Buddhism for decades, and the more they cultivate, the worse their habits become? It's that his attitude has not been established.This is the realm of a saint, where we can comment! As long as we have a mind to comment, we cannot really accept this Dharma, so if we don’t have the conviction in our hearts, and truly follow the teachings, how can you get benefits? So learn No benefit will be gained for a long time.
How does Master Yinguang comment on Master Shandao’s Four Tie Shu? Here we will give you a piece of content to learn: "Monk Shan Dao’s "Four Tie Shu", only wants the three roots of Puli, so it is more to make an appointment.Taizong's "Guan Jing Shu Miao Zong Chao", the truth is extremely mellow, and the middle and lower roots can not benefit; therefore, if the three roots of the "Si Tie Shu" are universal, it is also beneficial. 』This is mentioned in the Zengguang Wenchao Juan I.

Fortunately, his ministers tried their best to stop him and said, "Since ancient times, there have been people who wanted to usurp the throne and kill their fathers, but they have never seen anyone want to kill themselves. One of the foundations for reciting the Buddha with a name is to first teach you how to cultivate the three blessings. But it is indeed the foundation, because this part is also the Buddha. The key is still in the scriptures of "Shangpin Shangsheng Zhang", the standard three hearts, and this three hearts is exactly the same as the eighteenth vow, the eighteenth vows of the "Blessed Life Sutra" believing and doing the same, and the purpose of the three sutras is the same.Sincere heart is sincere, deep heart is conviction and faith.Going back to send a vow, in the "Guan Jing" part, he emphasized that we must believe in the same, but he emphasized that this sincerity is to be true to believe and to wish.This is true as long as there is a sincere heart.
