Yesterday we talked about the method for the real and rapid implementation of Liuhejing, which is to start from the heart, through the induction and communication with Amitabha, and truly receive the blessings of the Buddha, you can transform your body and mind at the moment. In this way, not only Liuhe Jingzi can naturally enter into it, and even if we want to become a Buddha in this life, we can confidently decide at the moment.

Today we are going to start learning the main meaning of the Sutra of Boundless Life. The so-called main meaning is the core meaning hidden in the text, that is, the implication.If we study the scriptures only focusing on the words, there is often no way to appreciate the Buddha's mind. How can we easily appreciate the Buddha's mind? Through the study of the scriptures, there is only one key point to truly grasp the Buddha's true feelings, and that is Start with respect.

Master Yin Guang said: "One point is sincere respect and one point is benefit; very sincere respect is very benefit." This respect is very important.No matter which sutra or method we study, as long as we are truly respectful, no matter how bad our roots are, we will definitely be able to enlighten ourselves.On the contrary, if we have an incorrect mindset for learning, even if we have a very familiar grasp of the scriptures, we won't get any benefit from learning, so we should talk to fellow practitioners about the mindset for learning before learning.

In the time of the Buddha, there was a koan. When the Blessed One was alive, he usually went outside to beg alms on the day of the day, but sometimes there were laymen who came to the sangha or asked the mage to come to the house to make offerings.Once the Blessed One led all his disciples to the palace to make offerings, the Sangha only left a novice monk who had just become a monk. He was very old, probably in his seventies.So that day, there happened to be a female layman who wanted to ask a mage to come to the house to make an offering, but unfortunately, the only teacher left in the Sangha was the teacher and father, who seemed to be very practiced because of her old age.The female layman was also very respectful and insisted on asking the master to come home to make a confession.So this teacher-father pushed half-and-half. He couldn't push and he had to keep all sentient beings. So he was very anxious along the way and thought, "It's miserable! After the meal is finished, I still have to teach others what I just shaved. I don't understand, what should I do later?" I was very nervous along the way, but until the meal was over, the female layman knelt and folded her hands very respectfully and asked the mage to teach.At this time, there is no other way but to face it. As for the monks, of course, you can't lie. At this time, I have to tell him frankly: "I will tell you directly! I have no law to tell you."If ordinary people hear this, a reaction is like "Ah! You are so old, and after a long period of cultivation, you can't teach me the law? The cultivation is too bad, right!" This is a reaction of ordinary people of us.But this female layman was very respectful. In her eyes, the Three Treasures, no matter how long they have been ordained, and no matter how long they have been ordained, are a role model for her to learn, because they believe that as long as they can truly become ordained, they are all the deep roots of goodwill in the world. Beings have better roots and are very respectful to the Three Jewels, so when she heard this, she immediately thought of the scriptures on the Diamond Sutra: "It cannot be said." The Diamond Sutra just says "Everything is like "Dream bubble", "Diamond Sutra" also says "If the Blessed One has something to say, then it is slandering the Buddha." Because her respectful heart made him listen very attentively at the moment, but he just heard the sentence "I can't say" and he immediately entered into it. The realm of the Diamond Sutra.This kind of situation is mainly because she has sufficient causes for accepting the Fa, especially her mentality of Fa-study without the slightest doubt. A doubt is that karma is before the appearance, which blocks your enlightenment.She didn’t have the slightest suspicion. In addition, she usually read the Diamond Sutra a little bit, but the Diamond Sutra is not so easy to understand. So as long as we have a sincere and respectful mentality of seeking the Dharma at any time, we will be in a certain way. Suddenly fell into the situation.

This koan shows that whether we can get the meaning of the law depends entirely on our attitude toward the law. Indeed, this old novice has no law at all, and he just didn't understand anything.This is the koan recorded in this Hinayana sutra. The four agars often record the Buddha's saving sentient beings at that time. It is very humane, and many points are worthy of our reference.

Our senior is very busy and has four monasteries to take care of. So although he can give lectures, he doesn’t have time to do so. Talk to us juniors.

At that time, there were more than 300 people who participated in the Seventh Buddha, and everyone was very diligent and hardworking. Then I think the cause of the Fa-study of fellow practitioners is so enthusiastic, I have to persuade them, because at that time the main meaning of the Amitabha Sutra was completely locked in a lifetime. The establishment of the confidence that can be reborn, and the establishment of this confidence right now, are all locked in the core education of faith, willingness, and deeds.So because there are only seven days in time, and I don’t know when to go next time, I especially encourage them to seize the opportunity as soon as possible, and relatives and friends must persuade them to come and listen.Maybe beginners, because what we are talking about is aimed at those who have already made a vow to help fellow practitioners build confidence. New learners may sometimes not understand it. This is inevitable.But even if I don’t understand, I planted a seed, which is a diamond seed, and it will definitely become a Buddha in the future.So after listening to many practitioners, many of the practitioners in Mainland China have good roots and are honest. After going back immediately, many people, this family and friends informed them that there was a sudden increase in the number of elderly and children with their families, and they all came to worship Buddha as they pleased. Seven, some people come to listen to the scriptures on a special trip, one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. There are especially many people when listening to the scripture.

One of them came to Wuhan by air from Qinghai for six hours. A surnamed Du, Du Lao Shi, XNUMX years old, so eager to seek the law.His hometown is in Xiaogan, Wuhan. The place where we teach the scriptures, but there is no one in his hometown. Some distant relatives have no place to live. He came back by plane and then stayed in the hotel. After listening to the scriptures, he flew back.It's rare for people to seek the Fa like this!In fact, in mainland China, there are not many opportunities to hear the scriptures and the Fa, but there are many Fa conferences.So they cherish it very much, and because of such sincerity, after I got to know, I also introduced some of our fellow Singaporeans. Not long ago, I was in Johor Bahru, Million Town Jingzong Society, and Skudai Jingzong Society for ten consecutive days, and there were ten consecutive days of lectures in these two places.A fellow practitioner had heard it when I came six months ago.At that time, I heard that this fellow practitioner was an old cultivator. He was a very young cultivator for more than XNUMX years. He was educated in English. He was the boss of a company, young and promising, very educated, and very Gentleman. Old Xiu, once participated in Zen and practiced mantras.However, later, I specialized in Pure Land, focusing on Yuantongzhang, focusing on the practice, and he was a person with very good roots.However, he did feel weak after studying for more than XNUMX years.So when he came here half a year ago, he was able to get into this realm immediately, so this trip came again.When he saw the poster himself, he drove from his home to Skudai, reporting every day for more than an hour, and then to Million Town, reporting every day, no shortage for ten consecutive days.

The cause of the Million Town was also very special. It can be said that the audience's enthusiasm was unprecedented. There are many practitioners in Million Town, because now in many places, the atmosphere of listening to the scriptures and the Fa is really getting more and more sluggish.Everyone likes the hustle and bustle of the Fa conference, and it's hard to listen to it and build up a little confidence. After a while, the confidence doesn't know where it went.It's because you don't enter deeply, the Dhamma doesn't enter deeply, and there is no way to cultivate for a long time. This is a common phenomenon.But the situation this time is really different. It can be said that it is unprecedented. Even some old repairs in the finance of Million Town come to listen every day, not one day is absent, and they have never listened to them in the past.So there was a very special situation that time. There were twenty or thirty people sitting on Dongdan’s side of the male group. There were five days for the female group. One of them was special. The day before, it happened to be in the forty-eight vows. The country has no women's wishes. I don’t want to talk about it. I want to make it clear when I talk about it. It is really unbearable to talk about women’s habits. A little closer to this, I am a woman myself, but let me tell the truth!Women’s habits, we can see the eighty-four feminine forms. Those who have passed away in the next generation must "have bodhichitta and always pay attention to it."To develop bodhicitta, the explanation of the Patriarch Tanluan is: "Wish to be the heart of the Buddha, and be willing to save the people to become the heart of the Buddha." This explanation is very clear. If you follow the standard of the Taoist method, it is "to seek the way of the Buddha, and to transform all living beings."Then it is more straightforward to return to the Pure Land Method. What is the purpose of "going up to Buddhism"? We all thought there was only one, right?Then we practiced for a long time, but it was not effective. It turns out that we did not grasp the purest method of cultivation before. It is one of the three methods, but it is more difficult and not easy to achieve. Our Pure Land Method is used by thousands of people. .

The first category of these three categories belongs to, "Hui Yuanliu", that is, Master Huiyuan, our first ancestor, he relied on his own self-reliance, and they practiced their own views. He followed the "Bangzhou Sanmai Sutra", and they practiced "viewing". Missing Buddha", one hundred and twenty-three people form a lotus society, among them there are eighteen sages. They are all martial arts, and they can really enter the world of bliss.They relied on their own strength to study and then go back. There is another kind of "Hui Ri Ci Stun Liu". This master is also relatively unfamiliar, but his thoughts, in fact, most of our practice are related to him, because at that time he was in a relationship, Zen was very popular. Therefore, in order to guide these Zen practitioners, miscellaneous practitioners, and other miscellaneous practitioners to return to the Pure Land, you directly persuade them to recite Buddhism and they refuse to do so. Therefore, he advocates self-reliance, on the one hand, you can rely on yourself. On the one hand, you have to rely on a little Buddha power, relying on the Buddha to ask for the Buddha to attract, then it becomes the two powers of oneself, and there are different subtle differences.

Then the most obvious other kind of "Good Diversion" is completely dependent on the power of Buddha.This is what we are going to lead you to learn now. This is the purest pure land cultivation method, and it is also the simplest. It can truly accomplish thousands of people.Master Shandao is Amitabha Buddha who will come again. He is our second ancestor of Jingzong.We didn’t have enough karma in the past, and there was no way to learn deeply under the guidance of Master Shandao, but in fact, the old monks mentioned it, but they didn’t talk about it in detail, but now the karma is sufficient, and I personally learn a lot in this respect. He advocated a method of promotion.The patriarch's great virtues to save sentient beings, or to study on his own, all have his own time and fate.In terms of thinking, the inheritance from Nagarjuna Bodhisattva is XNUMX% purely based on the power of Buddha, and it is called the "special method." It goes up to Master Yinguang, and he also subjugates this special method XNUMX% by relying on the power of Buddha.

Master Yinguang called Master Shandao a monk and a pro-teacher, so the real Pure Land Dharma Line, the Thinking Dharma Line, the Patriarch Tanluan and the Zen Master Daochuo play a very important role.Master Dao Chuo is Master Shan Dao’s master. This is inherited. Master Shan Dao went to be close to Master Dao Chuo for ten years. He retreats at the age of XNUMX. Therefore, we are now going to study the "Sutra of Immeasurable Life", which is also based on the thoughts of Master Shandao. Master Shandao's main work is "Sutra of Guanjing Si Tie Shu". In other words, he is based on the "Sutra of Buddhism of Immeasurable Life", but because of him If the mentality that the master passed to him is to truly understand and integrate the pure land theory and practice, you must read the "Three Classics" together. There is no contradiction in the "Three Classics". We now think that the "Three Classics" have contradictions and the cultivation methods are different. In fact, there is no contradiction. Only Master Shandao can see that this is the mental method passed on to him by his master.Therefore, he is talking about "Guanjing Si Tie Shu", which seems to be explaining "Guan Jing", but it is actually a fusion of the "Three Classics".

So today we study "The Essentials of the Infinite Life Sutra", and learning according to the thought of good guidance also integrates the "Three Sutras". In other words, we have learned all of the "Sutras of the Infinite Life Sutra", "Amitabha Sutra" and "Guan Sutra" today. The three sutras are all pure land sutras, and the goal is to regenerate into a Buddha. There are related works on the inheritance of this Dharma line. Then, Master Huiyi’s explanation for the development of bodhicitta is "faith and wish and hold the name", and "believe and hold the name" is to "send the bodhicitta". This is the same as the purpose of the "Amitabha Sutra", as long as we "really believe and wish" , That is "to develop the Bodhicitta, and always pay attention to it." Therefore, the purpose is the same. The purpose of the "Amitabha Sutra" and the "Blessed Life Sutra" are the same, but the words are different.

Our sincere beliefs and desires are not true, so the truth is the same. If we really see it through and let it go, how do we judge it?Did the fellow practitioners observe whether they saw through and let them go? Many laymen said they did! "I've watched too much in this world, and it's almost like this. It's meaningless. Compared to Survival Paradise, I have seen it through." Is it really clear?If you ask you to become a monk and ask you to donate all your property, can you do it?It counts if you can do it, not if you can't.

I want to do this and I want to do it, wow, that gap is too big, thinking is the same thing, because of troubles, I feel that this world is very miserable and boring.I think everyone thinks, and there are even many people who want to commit suicide. Those questionnaires said that nine out of ten people had thoughts of suicide.It's true that this world is very bitter, everyone has everyone's suffering, but when it is suffering, is it true that the troubles are now seen through?not necessarily.The real seeing through is that you can really let go, and you can let go of all the cravings of those five desires completely. This is called real seeing through.Why can you let it go, because you really understand that everything you really see through is illusory, and everything is bitter, and the essence is bitter.

Today he told you, oops!He likes you so much, he will change his heart another day, right?Today, eating this food, big fish, big meat, abalone and shark fin, is delicious, but it won't be delicious the next day.All happiness will change, but the essence is bitter, not true.If this thing is really seen through, when you are facing these various desires and six dusts, you will not be attached to it, will not be turned by the realm, be by this realm, and be a slave of this realm.In order to eat well and use it well, in order to control the people around you, you have spent your entire life, constantly making money and racking your brains to master these.In fact, people who really see through know that they can't grasp it, everything is illusion, everything is suffering, at this time you can really let go.So if you don't let it go, have you really seen it through and saw it so thoroughly? No, you still can't bear it, you still think it's not so bitter, and occasionally you still have a bit of fun and want to taste it.

Those who are able to become a monk, who can truly become a family, are to resign from love, to truly give up the five desires and six things, make up their minds and live a light life, and learn more strict precepts. This is Kung Fu!Otherwise, go and see how difficult it is to make this decision. It is not easy.So once you do it, then you really let go. Although you haven't become a Buddha yet, you already have time to let go of this part, so you really did it!Therefore, it is not possible to underestimate a beginner who is a monk, his Taoism, his state of letting go, and further to be able to live a light life. Generally, beginners should be able to live in the Sangha, or even live. In the deep mountain Alanruo, Alanruo is a clean place, exercise well for five years and ten years, try not to touch too many people in these red dust, otherwise this habit will be difficult to transform.

The same applies to practice at home. If you can't leave home, then you should try your best to put down some of the world's social entertainment, and really put it down here.Those bad habits of socializing are all talked and cut off. This is called letting go, not making you run away from home irresponsibly.First, let go of the non-attachment completely from the heart, and then come back, try to eliminate what can be eliminated, don't distract yourself, try to do your responsibilities as much as possible, and put a Buddha's name in your heart completely.Then you are practicing in the place of pure Alan Ruo. Our mind is peaceful and pure. You must work hard like this. You will be able to transform your body and mind in five years and ten years. Some habits, maladies and temperament will be transformed. If you are in the Sangha Will be faster.Therefore, among the lay men, we men who become monks can return to the secular seven times, so everyone can devote themselves to short-term monks. It doesn't matter if you are not used to living in the secular world. Exercise!The atmosphere in the Sangha is different. It’s really good to learn some rules and precepts. There will be a completely different level of experience. It can also help us improve our respect for the Three Jewels, because if you have really experienced it, you will mention it. Respectfully, I also know how to practice. It is really not easy for us to practice at home, and there are many obstacles.So why are many veterans who have been studying and entering Buddhism for XNUMX or XNUMX years? It seems that their habitual faults have not changed at all, and their temperament has not been better, just because the previous roots have not been well done. 

To learn the precepts for five years and ten years, try to live a light life as much as possible, just like the old monk said: "You can't read newspapers, you can watch TV, and you can't listen to the radio for the first five years." That's the intention!If you really want to let go, you have to let it go first. It’s not that you’ve been in Buddhism for several years and haven’t even asked for the Five Precepts, and then your living habits haven’t changed. You still watch movies or go shopping and socialize a lot. Then you study. It will not be possible to convert for a long time.If it is said that the blessing of Buddha can be transformed, it is affirmative. The problem is that you are busy with this. Then how can Buddha bless you, so you must calm your body and mind.

The old monk said that it takes nine years to cultivate talents in Australia.He also called Dr. Zhong to become a monk during his lectures.I went to Hong Kong in October this year and talked with Dr. Chung. I had a relationship ten years ago. The relationship was good. During the chat, I suddenly saw that his hair was cut very short that day. I asked, "You are Don’t you want to become a monk?” He nodded to me. I didn’t know that the old monk had taken the initiative to persuade him to become a monk when he was preaching. That's how he told him to live in a place without moving for ten years.

This is a basic skill no matter whether you are a monk or a monk at home. This skill must be done. Don't say that you want to save sentient beings in this realm when you start running around. It's not that simple!How to save sentient beings if you have not yet transformed your body and mind, you must first transform yourself before you can enter the crowd after you have studied to a certain level. However, it is better to live in the Paradise of Bliss for our roots. Kung fu, try to live as simple as possible.

The key to this is the three grains of rebirth.How to arouse true faith and aspirations?After the true faith and desire arise, you will naturally like to recite Buddha, and you will naturally like what we just talked about to eliminate all social entertainment, and even those who are not tired from the family will naturally want to become a monk, and live in a clean place and practice diligently. Learning, this is the key starting point. We can start from the core of true faith and sincere hope, and naturally, everything else can follow.

We are now surviving, and we have already made a wish to survive, and the moment we make a wish is to die. Oh, this is difficult to adapt to, and even we are living.This is the truth, it’s hard for us to understand, but if we listen to it, the master says, "Enlightenment is the most difficult, belief is the easiest, but you can go straight down." You just need to believe it, then we are now complete. This is a pure land. The Dharma is really a very inconceivable and ingenious place. It truly surpasses other methods and is the method with the highest realm.We generally think that Zen is the highest, the Prajna Sutra is the highest, and the Huayan Sutra is the highest. How can it be so simple, it is usually the first cause and the consequence, right?

After enlightenment, there are still three great almsgivings to cultivate, and slowly cultivate to become a Buddha.But our method is not. When we are chanting, we see the Buddha and become a Buddha. How can it be so wonderful and incredible?There is only this method!So our Pure Land School is called Lianzong. Why is it called Lianzong? When the lotus flower blooms, this lotus seed has grown at the same time. At the same time, the theory of our Pure Land School is very ingenious, and it is completely the realm of Buddha fruit land.So even the waiting for enlightenment Bodhisattva can't figure it out, and the Guanyin Bodhisattva can't figure it out. It's cause and effect. At the same time, we are cultivating the cause, right?The retribution is already here, and when we recite the Buddha now is when we become a Buddha, it's so incredible!So the achievement of this method is really the fastest. If you cultivate the cause right now, the immediate result will be there, but we can't feel it, and we don't know the correct cause of cultivation.In fact, there is a cause. When we recite the Buddha, there is a cause and an effect at the same time. It's just that we don't feel this extraordinary benefit. In fact, all cause and effect exist.So we can’t neglect this method. This method is the easiest to learn, the highest realm, and the quickest achievement.

Through our understanding of the heart and desire of Buddha Amitabha, we have become familiar with him, and after the induction, we can actually enter this realm, and we can enter without knowing it. We are always present at any time!We often appear in the realm of the Three Evil Ways, so it is exactly what it is for us.From this vow and the sequence of his vows, we can realize that Amitabha is the most caring for us, and his relationship with us is closer than his relationship with the Bodhisattva.What He made for the Bodhisattva was to make five vows by the way and put them at the end.

This method is especially aimed at us, because the great compassion of the Buddha Amitabha is superior to the Buddhas in the ten directions. He knows that we are the most suffering and have no ability to escape on our own. The sentient beings in the world of sannyas are taught in the "Song of Tragedy". It was placed by four thousand Buddhas, and many Buddhas gave up on us. Therefore, the great compassion of Amitabha is really superior to the Buddhas in the ten directions.For us, the fourteen Buddhas abandon us from coming to the world of Saha, but Amitabha does not abandon us. Our world is really strong and difficult beings.The compassion of the Buddha is equal, but the skill of saving sentient beings is different.In other words, only this special method set up by Buddha Amitabha can save us, especially sentient beings who are in the end of the Dharma. He really paid too much for us, but we never noticed, didn't care, didn't care, didn't care about anything but ourselves, of course we couldn't feel the blessing.So many people when they really look back and really feel that Amitabha has done this kind of work to us, they really cry and feel that they are really unfilial, just like unfilial children, never paying attention to their parents. To us is forever paying without regrets. This is the relationship between Amitabha and us.So first of all, we must know how to turn around and start to understand Amitabha Buddha with our heart. Only in this way can we become more and more familiar with Him, and truly sense the Dao friendship. As long as we can sense a point, we can get a point of confidence and gain.
