Today, we are very fateful. We are about to start at the Chinese Temple in Lingyan Mountain, Canada. We will learn our major Pure Land Method together. As you saw in the announcement, we will have a total of nine lectures on Saturday. Topic.But ah! Because of the impermanence of the world, these two days! Only two days ago I decided to change the content of this Saturday lecture to "Amitabha's Forty-Eigh Vows".
The cause is due to the abbot, Master Zhaoxu. He once mentioned to me that for our third Buddha three in October, we are polite to invite this Taiwanese Buddhist monk who is pure and virtuous to come to the Dharma and take everyone to recite the Buddha for three days. The third Buddha, there is also a dharma meeting for preaching.Then our abbot thought of these three days, because I heard that attorney Guo Qing delivered this forty-eight vows. The "forty-eight vows" is very exciting. I really want to ask him to speak, but because the three days are very short, and everyone has to study the Buddha diligently. , So I thought, otherwise, my disciple would take the initiative first, because at the beginning of this year, I also formally followed Lawyer Guoqing to learn the commandments.
So this trip, in addition to seizing this opportunity to get close to the lawyer, the main thing is to be more interested. When the master needs our disciples to do it, we will try our best, so I'm here to play forward.So the "Forty-Eigh Vows" for us, the Pure Land Method, the Buddhist chanting person, is a very important core. The key to rebirth lies in the "Forty-Eigh Vows", so this part also requires us to continue to learn.
So everyone has the handout? This handout, for today’s handout, we just read a few of the scriptures "Forty-Eighth Great Wishes", so next time we will have some supplementary handouts, this is us When we were giving a lecture in the library on Wednesday, we had a suggestion from fellow practitioners of the Dharma, because some of our fellow practitioners here are mostly overseas Chinese, as well as from Vietnam and from Vietnam, as well as fellow practitioners from mainland China. They may be more Chinese. The ability may be a bit hard, is there anyone here who can’t understand Chinese?Can't understand Mandarin?Do you understand? (The public answer: "I don’t understand.") Don’t understand? If I don’t understand, I can’t distinguish, try my best! Try to speak slowly, and then I try to speak plainly. This task of mine is not to take you all over and over again. Our goal is to build up everyone's confidence in the death of this game. This sentence is very fascinating.
Let me ask the question again. Our fellow practitioners here have already made a wish to pray for Buddha's death. For more than XNUMX years, XNUMX years? XNUMX years?How about ten years? Ten years are more common, and there are also twenty years. Five years? Five years?Please raise your hand if you haven't made a wish, really?fake?Everyone has made a vow, (the fellow practitioner replied: "I haven't made a vow yet."), if you haven’t made a vow yet, are you here to join in today? I think everyone recites the Buddha very well in the morning. Believe it today! , It’s easy to get enlightenment when listening to the scriptures in the afternoon.
In fact, don’t doubt, I’m not exaggerating what I just said. Our monks don’t lie!Whether we can recite the Buddha, whether we can die, whether this confidence can be built, is actually the same as Zen enlightenment, just in an instant.It's not like, "Oh! Old cultivators are more powerful!" You see that many of our elders have been cultivating for more than 2001 years or XNUMX years. Are you sure about your death? (A fellow practitioner replied: "Yes.") Oh! Then you are very special, no, you have no confidence in nine out of ten, because this is what I have seen with my own eyes.From this training class, Master Zhaoxu and I are classmates, and we are the fifth, the fifth class in Singapore.Well, after graduation, we graduated in XNUMX, and I have often made connections with fellow initiates at home and abroad, especially in Southeast Asia.
I have taken questionnaires along the way, and the older I am, the less confident I am. How could this happen?Ah! How could it be like this?This really makes sense.Because of myself, I have studied the Pure Land Method for nearly XNUMX years. In the first twelve years, I have been studying Buddhism year after year without confidence. The deeper I teach, the more doubts I have, the more I really don’t understand. In fact, there will be no problems with the people. The more you study, the more you learn, the less you know!Why are there more and more problems?It must be more and more before it gets through.I turned it around in the twelfth year. It was just a moment, but it was just a moment, just like what Zen said. This moment of epiphany also requires the roots of many generations of goodness, and the practice of many generations, so our Pure Land Method depends on The good roots and merits of many generations, so as long as the causes and conditions are sufficient in this life today, the matter of your becoming a Buddha can be determined in an instant.

(XNUMX) The conditions for rebirth depend on the maturity of the root cause
Then if some of us here are beginners, and you meet this cause and condition today, then you can truly rejoice, even if you listen to one, you don’t have to hear nine, we will be Consummated as a whole, and after hearing one, you will be able to rebirth. This confidence in the decision is not surprising at all, so there is no doubt.Even if you have never heard of Dharma, why?Because our method does not rely on our own strength, but on the blessing of the Buddha, what we do is, as long as our years of good roots and virtues are sufficient and mature, you will be able to complete us in an instant when the cause and condition are present. Conditions of death.
The conditions for rebirth are very simple. The "Amitabha Sutra" says that as long as "believe and do what you want," the Pure Land Sutra states clearly. Then the "Amitabha Sutra" says that "you must not live in another country with little good roots, merit, and destiny." "It doesn't talk about any conditions, it only relies on good roots, merit, and predestined conditions.When this condition is met, you really initiate "faith, aspiration, and deeds." Is it easy to recite the Buddha! "Faith" and "aspiration" are up to you to decide, right?It’s not about how smart you are or how good you are to keep the precepts. Anyone who breaks the precepts can be reborn. The three evil ways, the five evils and ten evils can be reborn. This is described in the "Guan Jing", so there is nothing for us. Conditions, as long as you want.But what kind of people can be willing?People who really have good roots, merits, and destiny.These few sentences are the most important core. If you can understand, you can decide right now and you can graduate.
Whether you can regenerate into a Buddha does not depend on this external force, but whether you are willing to accept it and take it straight down, just because, why? This matter is entirely dependent on Amitabha’s will power, and he has become a Buddha ten kalpas ago, then if you If the roots of goodness are not deep enough, you won’t believe it, and you won’t want to die, right?On the contrary, if part of your own good roots is sufficient, you are willing to accept it, and the conditions for "faith, wish, and deed" are sufficient, and you can feel the relationship right now. You can decide now that you will definitely be able to die in this life. Why?Buddhas do not deceive, and all the Buddhas in the ten directions have proved it.
There is another question, is your wish true?If your good roots are not enough, then you will still be greedy for the five desires and six dusts of this world, then your wish is false and there is no way to die.So it's all up to you, do you understand that? So we must be able to grasp the key points of our studies. It's useless for you to work hard on your own.For those who have really worked hard to recite Buddhism, if you want to keep your mind free all day long, without any delusion, it is absolutely impossible, absolutely impossible, and you will have more and less confidence in your thoughts.
It's not that we don't want to be diligent in chanting the Buddha, but it's not, because chanting the Buddha is a felony of life and death for eight billion kalpas! Help us eliminate karma.And if you really have people who believe in your wishes, there is no one who dislikes chanting Buddha. This is a natural reaction.But the point we need to correct now is, what kind of mentality do we use to recite Buddha?If your concept is wrong, you read it, while you are reading it, while you read it, thinking, "Oh! Why do I still have delusions? Ouch! Why do I have more delusions?" Then do you worry more and more, The more you think, the less pure you are, right?So I see a lot of old cultivators. Because these concepts are not well mastered, people who practice harder and harder the longer they have cultivated, the more troubles they have, the less sure they will be in their rebirth.why?Because he felt that he tried all the methods and tried all he could, but he still didn’t have the ability. Then he began to doubt the method, and that doubt would be over, and he would retreat, and some would be retreated to the end. Modify other methods.So this can be regarded as dependent on karma.
Why do we have studied for so long and haven’t been able to encounter this? When we hear this key point, it is also that the cause and condition have not yet come. Our own roots and merits have not yet met. When the conditions are met, it is actually very simple. .So I want to remind everyone here, but you have to bear it straight. If you come here today to study together, come here to listen to a class, you must be ready at any time, and you can build confidence in rebirth at any time now. Don’t be polite, because this is Buddhism blessing is not my power, and the master is not so powerful, but it is not because of us sentient beings! Why are they called sentient beings?It's just worrying!Unclean.
This ability of sentient beings is limited, only Buddha power is absolutely pure, there are absolutely no variables, there are no variables.I don’t say, "Oh, you can die today. That person, the other day Amitabha has overslept and forgot to pick him up..." There will be no situation. Only by relying on the power of Buddha can XNUMX% stability be possible, and the decision can be made right now. With confidence, our Pure Land Method can decide to graduate. The key is to rely solely on the power of the Buddha.So don’t be embarrassed: "Oh, I can’t do it! How about me...". It has nothing to do with you. What we have to do is whether you can feel it. This kind of induction depends on the heart, relying on the heart, in my heart It's a feeling, I believe it!This kind of confidence is only known to me, and it is difficult for me to describe it.Just like when we men and women fall in love at first sight, I saw, "Oh! This is what I want, and I will make it for the rest of my life." This is a feeling, but only I know it, that kind of moment, this kind of feeling. Can arise.
Then what we want to grasp, we want to pursue is this thing, not to pursue a thoughtlessness, that is impossible, I promise you.If you really don't have any thoughts, you may be almost half a vegetative, but vegetatives will also, and you may have a lot of thoughts.This true saint! The Great Bodhisattva is not without thoughts, so please don't make a mistake.The stone has no thoughts. Although the flowers and trees have spirituality, their awareness is very weak. Then they are better than us! Right?Concentration is better than us.So this is for everyone to reverse some of this concept and adjust the mentality. Then we must stand up our spirits every minute and every second, and pick up the greatest spirit to feel the blessings of Buddha power. In fact, the light of Buddha is always paying attention to it. It’s just because we haven’t established this good mentality, so we won’t be able to receive it, and we won’t be able to receive it after decades of chanting, so everyone must take good care of this cause and condition.
I personally established my confidence in rebirth seven or eight years ago, so in the past few years we have circulated CDs overseas very widely, and many people have been able to build confidence in rebirth.Then I came to share with you, to share the benefits that I have gained. This is not my kung fu. I am also an ordinary person with karma. I am the same as everyone, but because we rely on the power of Buddha, we have truly gained the benefits of this method. , So of course we have this obligation to share with you.Therefore, I also have a class on Facebook called "The Pure Land Sect of Taoism No. XNUMX Guanglun Class", so my nickname is "Amitabha's Messenger". (XNUMX) Worship the Buddha and eliminate karma, the easier it will be to correspond with the Buddha
So today our course here is from XNUMX:XNUMX to XNUMX:XNUMX, then I will give an hour and a half of lectures, and then there will be half an hour after that I will take everyone to pray. That pray is the tune of the jungle. (The mage asks: "Did we record the CD? Have we copied it? Have you?") We are rushing to copy some CDs these days.So this, this tune was recorded by myself, it’s a jungle tune.If we go to the precepts and receive precepts, we will have a prayer for a period of time. That is to use the jungle tone. Then this is also the teaching of worship and repentance, and there is also such a teaching.
Praying for repentance is to help us eliminate karma. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who worshipped in the jungle are Shakyamuni Buddha. Many Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have the name of worship.I specially recorded it, and only the name "Nanwu Amitabha", then this name is "Nanwu-kile, the loving father, Amitabha." Compassion is the compassionate kindness, and the father is the father of the father. When you worship, you just call it like this. I will take you to worship together.That part is to help everyone eliminate the karma first, and the karma is not eliminated! Your feelings are not easy to arise, so we complement each other and pay equal attention to the solution.
You must cry when you pray. You can only pass if you cry. The worse you cry, the higher your score.Then you are welcome, we will turn off the lights later.I’m in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. I took the Buddha Seven! One hundred, exactly one hundred and eight, hey! It’s strange. Everywhere I go, I’m very successful. The number of people is just right, and it’s a little crowded. Male The women all cried in a row. This is the blessing of Buddhism. You must grasp this cause, because this is a kind of blessing of the whole Three Jewels. When you are here, the atmosphere of worshipping at home is different.
Then during this process of yours, if you can really respond to each prayer, that karma is really a felony of life and death of Nian Nian XNUMX Yi Jie! You must grasp this cause and condition, and experience the process of eliminating karma.How about going to worship?What kind of mood do you use in the process of commendation, and what mood do you use to worship?Of course, if you understand the teachings better, or if you are particularly familiar with Amitabha, then you will be more sensitive when you worship.If there are none, it is also driven by the good roots of our past life and our overall atmosphere. The purpose is to help us eliminate karma.
Then there is also a yoga worshipping Buddha. Let’s record a CD to connect with you first. You should go back and watch it first, because yoga worshipping Buddha is a bit more complicated, and the method of worshipping is a bit more complicated.There was no arrangement at first because our abbot, Master Zhaoxu, told me that our fellow practitioners, because of the overseas Chinese in Canada, most of them have good and big rewards, and then they all come here to provide for the elderly. , Come here.So the people here are very long-lived, most of them are very long-lived, and then they also pay attention to health preservation, so I suggested whether I can take you to do some health-preserving co-cultivation, I thought of yoga and worshiping Buddha.
Then this yoga Buddha worship has been advocated for several years. It is based on Western medicine, Chinese medicine, and my personal experience of learning yoga before, and after combining it, we have customized a set of Buddha worship methods.During this process of worshipping the Buddha, you can achieve the effect of practicing yoga. It can cure diseases and maintain health. This is a bit more complicated. So please go back to the CD first, and then you need to listen to the explanation. In fact, the movement is also very fast to learn. , But you have to listen to the explanation first, and then you will know the effect of what you do. Then when your mind is very clear, the effect of the power injection of your mind will be better, and you will not feel it if you silly worship. The power of the mind is very important.

We pray first to eliminate the karma first, and then we have the destiny to take everyone to health together.But if you really want longevity and health, you still have to go to the world of bliss. That is true immeasurable life! There is no real longevity in this world, no.
Everyone knows Qin Shihuang! Qin Shihuang asked for the elixir of life, wow! Who can compare the time, money, and manpower he spent?In the end, he lived, did he live to be a hundred years old? So he really asked for immortality to go to the Paradise of Bliss. If there is fate in this world, then leave, don’t be nostalgic. Don’t take care of it too much for your body. , The most important thing is whether you can die! Where will you go if you don’t give birth?It's hard to say that if you don't get angry at all, you will have to go to Santu in all likelihood.We see cats now! Dogs! Are you willing to be? People in this life! After the rewards are used up, you will be cats in your next life! Dogs! That's not strange, it's easy.

The Blessed One said that the unfamiliar beings now can still be humans in their next life, and they can still be humans, not that they will be a hero in twenty years, no!Just like there is a metaphor, like the dust on the nails, you can't get as much soil as the earth on the human body.In other words, there are so many fellow practitioners on our side who can get a person. There may be only one, two, or none at all. Oh, it's just such a ratio. Don't think it's that simple.
Especially those of us who have great rewards now have to be more careful. Our fellow practitioners can immigrate here, and most of them are well rewarded.So everyone thinks that in the future it won't be too bad, and it seems that we are also good people, and we will come to practice together, and occasionally do good deeds, and we should not degenerate in the next life. If we think this way, it will be too dangerous. The "Ksitigarbha Sutra" states that "all sentient beings have thoughts, and all are sins and karma. "We sentient beings, what are sentient beings? The three poisons and troubles are the body! Right?I am greedy, anger, and ignorant every day, and I think I’m very good, terrible, without this kind of alertness, suddenly impermanence comes, and you’re too late, and that one fell to the third place. It’s really long live long live, really It's like this, so don't take it lightly.
Okay, then we had a questionnaire just now. It seems that almost half of the fellow practitioners said they all made a wish to die, or are the majority? More? I will do the questionnaire again to make sure, because then I will know what to do next. You learn.I just mentioned that those who have really made a vow to ask for rebirth, let me give it one more time, whether it is a beginner or an old cultivator who really wants to die, don’t you? There are really a lot of people who really want to die!Real or fake? (A fellow practitioner replied: "Really.") Really? (The fellow practitioners replied: "Really.") Really? Okay, I have to take a test now. What is true? There is a test for true or false.
Amitabha, this is great!I just said that the sound is very uncomfortable!It's very hard, and the speaker finds it very hard.Okay, let's take a test first. What is true, because we ordinary people will deceive ourselves and others. I'm not saying that you are deliberately telling lies.Most of the fellow practitioners who come to recite the Buddha are very kind and know the cause and effect. Especially in the Three Treasures, it is impossible to deceive Master. But sometimes you do not know whether you deceive yourself or yourself.So I used a very simple method to take the test. You said you really want to die, right?
Okay, if we are leaving now, would you like to go? (Public answer: "Go.") Hey! The more you speak, the louder you are. Don't make this lie!If this is the case, it is true.Hey, you have to always ask for it, don't want to say that the atmosphere is so good now, you don't talk about it and you don't give face! No.You should always ask yourself, what you think today and tomorrow will be the same. Anytime or if you suddenly won a lottery today, wow! You won a million, was your mind still the same at that time? (Fellow practitioners Answer: "Yes.") Just leave.
I have an old Bodhisattva who is very cute. She was very excited. When I came down, she immediately said, "Master, I want to go with you now." I said that I can't go by myself, and I have to wait for Amitabha to come.It means that we have to be ready at any time, not to say, oops! One day Amitabha suddenly appeared, and sometimes we suddenly encounter accidents, it is difficult to tell!right?You have an accident and you faint. For example, you have a car accident, and then you faint, but our consciousness is still active!Anyway, in any situation, if you suddenly see Amitabha, if you have another thought: "Oh! My property has not been allocated." This is the most important thing for ordinary people. At least I have to allocate it before I leave. !right?This is one.
There is ah! Some karma is heavier: "Oh! My grandson has not grown up, my daughter hasn't married yet, what, what..." This idea, eh, when it’s really critical, in your heart The most important thing, it emerges.So if you say now, I believe it for the time being. It’s good if you really say you just leave. You have to have this kind of thought. Then your wish to rebirth is true. If not, you have to remind yourself every day. You have to ask yourself if this thought is still there?
If you really have already made a vow and passed away, the person whose vow is true will actually not retreat or retreat. This is what the Scripture says, and the great virtues of the Patriarch told us very clearly that our method is to be born. Don’t retreat, don’t retreat, don’t wait until the Paradise of Elysium is not regressed. After the Elysium is reborn, it will be the three non-refundable, and the three will not retreat. But now when our good roots and merits are sufficient, we truly believe that we want to live forever. , Yes, you can not retreat right now.So if you retreat someday, it means that your wish is not true, and you have no temptation now!right?And you are very bitter now: "Oh! It's better to leave now...Oh! Our daughter-in-law troubles me all day long. Oops! How about me! There are a lot of creditors who fail in business, so it's best to run quickly. ..".
Your current situation is not good, of course you would want to leave as soon as possible, but this is not the case!When you are all going well, a few people will not want to say, "Oh! I'll just enjoy this blessing before going." Nine out of ten cities, unless your wish is true.Then this wish is true. There are two kinds of people who are true. One is that the good roots of the world are too deep, and he doesn’t understand the truth, but he is naturally tired of this world, seeking bliss, and being connected with Amitabha. It's very deep. You can't kill this kind of person if you don't go.The other is that he really understands this truth, so the upper roots and the lower fools can be saved, and they can die. The kind of middle roots, the ones who don't go up and can't go, can't go.

The Shanggen person is quite enlightened, which is equivalent to a little enlightened. At least he understands the principles of this pure land method. If he truly knows the superiority of the world of bliss, he will naturally not miss this world! Even if that world is now blessed. All know, ah!False, all are illusions, they are all moments of impermanence arising and passing away. Don't be deceived by this illusion. Of course, this kind of person will never miss this world.In fact, this world is just like what the Blessed One said, it's like we live in a cesspit. No, the creditor didn’t come, just for a couple of days.You still have a bit of good fortune to play in the Five Desires and Six Dusts, you will feel as if you have a little bit of fun and feel that this world is pretty good.In fact, that is an illusion, because you don’t understand the truth. Are you willing to be a king in the cesspool? Will you be a rich elder? It doesn't make sense!So, those who really understand this truth, do young people want to die?Should the child let him die?Ah, this is a test: "Oh! My grandson is only a few years old, what are you kidding him to tell him to die!" The young man said, "Oh! I have a great future. My career has not yet developed. How many ideals do I have? How many ambitions do I have..." So young people usually don’t come to recite the Buddha, and they don’t want to ask for death. In fact, they don’t see the truth clearly, and in fact, people who have passed away! The truth behind this death is also very deep.
Rebirth is the first rebirth and liberation in your heart. You can also be a Buddha right now and become a person who will come again! So people who seek rebirth are not negative! They don’t ask you to die right away!No, in fact, there is no conflict with us in our career and in the world to make great ambitions, but the question is what kind of great things you want to do. If you do, your ambition is to do five desires and six desires. Dust things, it's better not to create karma.So I always advise young people to become monks, those who are not married, and those with relatively minor karma, to make the effort to become monks and do great things that truly benefit all sentient beings.
I'm not saying alas!The person who recites the Buddha immediately seeks to die and leave immediately. If you want to, you can't go. You can't go if you haven't finished the things that should be done in this world.In fact, the level of rebirth is still very deep. The physical body rebirths, there is inner rebirth, and each level is different. If you have the opportunity, you will talk about it slowly and learn slowly.Therefore, young people should also make a vow, especially our Blessed One, you see, he shows to us, how old is he to make his debut and become a monk?It is also said that 19 years old and 29 years old, that is, when you are young, you will have physical strength when you are young. Only when you are young, you will have the wisdom and intelligence to cultivate, even since childhood! If you really love your children and grandchildren, you must try your best to achieve their spiritual practice, single-mindedly. To do this great event of birth, this is truly a real merit, which can be taken away in the future.
Then all of us in this world you want to be a doctor, be a president, what do you want to be, what..., unless your heart is like a big bodhisattva, completely selfless and benefiting all living beings, then you can, you just It shows that there are many big bodhisattvas in all walks of life in the family.If not, you are doing it for yourself, then you are creating reincarnation karma. It is better not to do it, it is better to be a monk. At least you will not fall, you will not fall in the Three Treasures, absolutely not. Depravity, no matter how poorly you cultivate, you won’t degenerate, because the Three Jewels will bless you, and you will have this fate.
It’s hard to tell if you are in all walks of life in the world. It can be said that nine out of ten are becoming more and more degenerate, because we can’t do two things with one heart!If you love this, you can't love that. If you love both, it might be a problem.It’s like saying that the great patriarch told us that if we want to rebirth in the world of bliss, we must first be disgusted with this world of sannyasin, disgusting in our hearts, but disgusting in our hearts does not mean escaping. It is okay to follow the sentient beings and live by the fate. You must only ask for a place in your heart and seek bliss. In this case, everything will be fine! The truth is also very deep.
In terms of our Pure Land Method, this theory is the deepest among all sects and seems to be the simplest, but in fact it is completely the realm of the Buddha’s Dharma, so if we have to learn from the truth, we will wait until we understand it before we publish it. Think about it! No matter how the world is, we also see a lot of great and successful people. In the end, what is the end of the game? Just look at it and you will know! Why do you have to keep busy again, right? But if you really get out of this relief The way, you enter Buddhism, no matter how bad you are, no matter how bad your roots are, you can't fall, and then in this, you can slowly cultivate good roots, and that's okay.
Here is one, we beings have different roots, and here is a lecture, let’s see what kind of roots we are.Upper root, middle root, lower root. "The sergeant hears the truth, and he knows what he hears." This is the upper root.After just listening for a long time, you will think, wow! Our method is very wonderful, it is really hard to believe, but although it is hard to believe, but you will find it very magical, very wonderful, you will not think negative, you will not deny it. Although it does not understand it, it will feel corresponding and acceptable. This kind of person is the root person.
Of course, if you practice on your own from the perspective of other sects, then you have to be enlightened. Then you have to be like the sixth ancestor Hui Neng. When you hear: "The mind should be born without a place to live," you will immediately become enlightened.But it’s our method! In fact, it’s almost impossible for you to really understand this truth. This is the realm of the Buddha, but you immediately believe it when you hear it. If you don’t understand it, you are willing to believe it, and you are willing to listen to the Buddha and seek survival in the world of bliss. , I’m willing to believe that we just said that the world of Sao Po is like a dung pit, there is nothing worthy of nostalgia, you hear a sentence and you believe it, this is the root person, not that you want to get a doctorate, if you are a chairman, a big entrepreneur, This is not the case. These people tend to have heavier karma and harder to believe.
"Medium-liu has a pure heart, and it is very important to think about it." This is a person of medium-rooted nature. There are more and more people of this kind, but there is still a salvation.Just when you are busy, you look like young people like us. Usually everyone is very busy at work, right? But most of the people who can come here to work hard still have considerable good roots, but the good roots are not as good as just said. As soon as I heard it, I was convinced to make a vow as soon as I heard it.
You truly believe that you must devote yourself to making a vow, even becoming a monk.But if you haven’t done so, and you’re still planning your future and chasing it in the world’s five desires and six dusts, then the upper-rooted person has no part! It may be the middle-rooted person, which means that you just do it when you are busy. If you forget, you will put this Fa aside, but when your mind is pure, for example, you will still go to the dojo to practice together to get your mind.As for such a person, his mind will calm down. At this time, he will realize that cultivation is very important. Of course, he will not be completely lost in the five desires and six dusts, but this kind of person! The benefits are also very limited, because they have been drawing, becoming a worldly person, and a spiritual practitioner, but there is not much progress in the end.This one belongs to the middle roots, and this kind of people is the most.
Then there is "the servant is stupid and dull, but laughs." Hearing this method, I didn't believe it, and there were many such people.Because our Pure Land Method is an unbelievable method, if you try to persuade others to practice, come to practice together, you will know, what will many people give you?A very skeptical eye, and even think of you as foolish and witless: "If people say you believe it, I didn't see where the world of bliss is. I believe it is the same as it really is." Some people are engaged in science and knowledge. The guys also said that you can show me the evidence! Right?He laughed at you instead of believing it.For the Pure Land Method, this kind of person is a person from the bottom to the bottom.
This kind of person is the most intellectual.Doctors, masters, these are very accomplished people in the world, because he is too devoted, of course he has achieved a lot! In the pursuit of the five desires, he has achieved a lot, then he will be both physically and mentally. Corresponding to this five desires and six dusts, so he can't respond to this kind of way out of the world, what he can't see, and what's on the door, and he doesn't believe it.Then why can we old bodhisattvas believe?You have been cultivating for a long time in your past life. He may not have much culture in this life, but it is because we are here to receive the rewards. There is no way. But in the past life, you have already cultivated a very deep root of virtue, so you will believe it.Then we can know how my own roots are.
So if you come to listen to the scriptures and don't understand it, or even if you doze off, it doesn't matter, it's all meritorious and blessed.Don’t doubt whether it’s such a bad root. If you don’t understand it, as long as you can believe it and truly wish to recite the Buddha, what the master tells you, you just do one sentence when you say it, then you are the root person. It doesn't matter if you don't understand it, you will understand if you do it a few times.If you come to study in this way, you will easily develop confidence. Don’t compare with others. Some people talk a lot of truths, but if you tell him to recite Buddhism, he doesn’t recite, and the habits are very serious, most of them For the time it takes to pursue the things of the world, then this belongs to the lower roots, and it is incomparable to you.Often you are reciting the Buddha in the Buddhist hall, making your mind, doing volunteer work. They are incomparable to you. We are the ones who really want to become Buddhas and the roots.

How did this world of bliss come from? How did it come, do you know? It was Amitabha who made the wish!Sending this "forty-eight great vows", his "forty-eight great vows", the "Amitabha Sutra" says: "Since Amitabha became a Buddha, it has been ten kalpas today. "In the "Blessed Life Sutra" it also said: "I build a wish for the world to be supreme."If Si is not satisfied, he swears not to wait. ".

In other words, the "forty-eight great vows" before ten calamities and the "forty-eight great vows" we are going to learn this time are all fulfilled. Amitabha became a Buddha ten calamities ago.Therefore, as long as we practice according to this "Forty-eight Great Vow", we can be the object saved by Amitabha Buddha. In this life, we call the name of Amitabha Buddha, and if our faith is sufficient, we can go to the world of bliss and become a Buddha. This is our pure land practice. The core of learning.
Then you say: "I didn't see Amitabha, and I didn't see the world of bliss..." This is because many intellectuals can't turn around, so we can't talk about it.Think about it, Buddha Shakyamuni is a prince. He can inherit the throne. He does not inherit. His family is wealthy. He does not want to be a monk and practice asceticism. Even in China, how many patriarchs have had such a noble sentiment for thousands of years. People, don’t want all the glory and wealth; even the Buddhas of the ten directions mentioned in the scriptures come to prove to you to persuade us to go to the world of bliss. Can't you believe it?There are many things that can't be proved, for sure.So it is said: "Faith is the source of Taoism and virtue."
Sometimes we say: "I only believe it when I see it." Our eyes are very limited. If we really want to see the truth, we have to look at it with our heart.So let’s think about it, so many great virtues, so many patriarchal great virtues, come to persuade us, why they lie to us, there is no need to lie to us, he left everything by himself, practised asceticism, left everything, and preached these principles everywhere, for What is it?He has nothing to do when he is full?Is he not going to enjoy the blessing?right?It must be that he got the benefit, and then he also believes in cause and effect! It is impossible for him to do something meaningless.
We have to infer in this way. If we infer it in this way, our true faith can arise and gradually arise for those who have good roots.Some people! Now the karma is getting heavier and heavier because he grew up! He is often deceived by others, and when he grows up he goes to the mall, wow!Everyone tells lies, so this root of doubt is getting heavier and deeper, and it’s hard to believe it. The root of belief is hard to develop, so we have to cultivate it. Otherwise, the root of belief has not arisen. If you enter the Pure Land Method, it will be useless for you to recite the Buddha for a long time.

It is said that they are mainly for the vows made by the sentient beings in the three evil ways.The initiates are familiar with the "Forty-Eighth Great Vow", most of them.I would like to ask you who have really felt the feeling in your heart after reading this vow?Please raise your hand.Not much!It's really not much, why?Everyone wants to say that the three evil ways have nothing to do with me, right?I am not a sentient being from the Three Evil Ways. Usually it has nothing to do with us. We don't pay much attention to it. I used to be like this myself. I read it for a long time! The scriptures are very familiar! But I don't feel it.So how do we learn this "forty-eight vows", it doesn't matter if we are familiar with it, we have to feel every vow, and feel why Amitabha Buddha made this vow.
First of all, we must understand, does this wish really have nothing to do with us?Actually it is not. This passage is actually the same as what it said to us.why?Does greed make you feel evil? Right! What about hatred? Hell.Infatuation, what about infatuation?Animal Road.So do we have greed, hatred and delusion?There is greed, anger, ignorance and ignorance every day, always present.We are in the Ten Dharma Realms every day, and we change every day, you don’t know it!We are often unaware of it.When you have a mind that benefits sentient beings with one thought, you are a bodhisattva, and that one thought at the moment.When you are greedy, you are now beings of evil spirits.Oh! Go and observe carefully, that's it.So is this talking about us?Too.If our three poisons are very heavy, we are the objects mentioned in this paragraph.
So, have you noticed why the "Forty-eight Great Vows", actually the first paragraph of the "Forty-eight Great Vows" of Buddha Amitabha was first issued for the most suffering sentient beings of the three evil realms.Then the last five vows are issued for the Bodhisattva. The Great Bodhisattva has the lightest karma, and the three evil ways of sentient beings have the heaviest karma, right? So from this arrangement, do you understand the heart of Amitabha? We should learn to follow He feels, we want to understand him! What kind of person is Amitabha Buddha?What is his personality, what is he thinking?Only in this way will we truly understand what He means and will correspond to Him.His first post shows that Amitabha is more concerned about and anxious for us, the more suffering sentient beings, the more he must save first, right?So the vow made by the Great Bodhisattva is at the end.
The order of this scripture has its meaning, and we need to see some clues from it before we can have enlightenment.So since Amitabha is the most urgent and the first to save us sinful sentient beings, then I would like to ask, if your karma is very serious, do you think you can die?Is there a way?No?Then you are not enlightened yet.Let me give another example. If you have five children today, you gave birth to all five children, right?Of course it hurts! But if one of you is sick and dying today, what will happen to you? Is your heart very anxious, right?Are you going to save him first?Yes.
Buddha Amitabha has this kind of heart, so Buddha Amitabha must save us first, and then the heavier our karma, the heavier your own karma, don't worry, Amitabha will save you first, so you have to be more confident, right?That's right! Because our method was originally issued for ordinary people, right?If you are the root nature of the master, then there is no need. You go to Zen and you are enlightened yourself. You don't have to wait for Amitabha to save! Right?The Special Method of Pure Land Method is a special method for these sentient beings that we can't practice, so please don't be polite, you have to take it straight, as we just talked about.
This was originally a special way for us to leave, so we don’t have to worry about our own heavy karma and there is no way to die.The heavier the karma, the Buddha must be saved first.Does that understand? (Audience: "Then you have to have a little more karma.").No, no.This is a joke, no, because this has different causes and effects, I believe you will not do it, right?Because you are going to create karma again, before Amitabha Buddha comes, you will be rewarded first, and then Amitabha will be truly Amitabha.Because it's too late! Right?Go if you have the guts! It's okay, it's arrogant, so you can't just laugh out of it.

We are all stupid not knowing, we don't feel it.After chanting for a long time, I don’t know what I’m chanting, I don’t know how to use my heart, and then I feel boring when I recite and I don’t want to chant.
If you are very close to this distance of Amitabha, you really feel that he is so anxious all the time.Do you see why the Buddha statue is only Amitabha standing?Generally the Buddha is sitting, only the Bodhisattva is standing.Because the Bodhisattva is an uninvited friend, he is always standing. What does he show?He goes to help sentient beings at any time, but Buddhas are all sitting, orthodox speaking.Because the Buddha is a representative, it is an expression of "only learning by hearing, but not teaching." He represents the teacher, and the teacher is the most noble one, so you have to sit there and wait for students to come and ask. This is such an expression.But only Amitabha is standing. Do you know why?This has a lot of meaning! We don't understand anything and we didn't notice it.
Amitabha stood there, holding the statue that he had already received at any time, right?represents what?It means that he has no day or night, and he has no rest.He does not bear the suffering of any sentient beings, nor will he miss any sentient beings. He is there at any time waiting to attract sentient beings. Amitabha is living like this! Then we sentient beings, and what we just said is like, He Seeing us is like a sick child. He is so anxious. You can see that even if the child is sick, you can't sleep at night, right?Amitabha Buddha was like this before, and we don't understand the truth of this fact and we are playing all day long.
As the Buddha said, the "Lharma Sutra" talks about the Three Realms Fire House. We were having fun inside, and the house outside was on fire. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were very nervous when they watched it! We are all their children! Nervous, we all don't even know it stupidly, we are still having fun in the house.We go to experience their feelings carefully, and you will be ashamed! Very moved and very grateful.When you have this feeling in your heart, you can recite this Buddha name, and it will be different.
I’m just talking about goose bumps, and my pores are erect, often, often, because this is the truth, our eyes can’t see it, our heart can feel it, and we can truly believe this fact. The phenomenon.How can you believe it?Bit by bit! From the process of our study, the good roots of our past lives, the scriptures explain to us and so on....So we have to know how to learn this forty-eight, not to learn the truth of its words, that is useless, and that is just used as a foundation, as a foundation.But really you have to experience the relationship between Amitabha Buddha and us, what is his state of mind, and what is our situation. Then this will produce a real interaction and a real feeling! We chant this Buddha name very much. Meaningful and real.
Then at this time, you will truly put your life into it! Your whole life, you will have a big change, your work and rest, your goals, etc..., there will be a big one. Transformation, and even you will be reborn, you will be reborn.In fact, if we recite Buddhism for a long time, and you don’t believe it, just don’t recite, you just have fun, right?Otherwise, you waste time and get nothing. If you create a lot of karma, you will still be enlightened, because your retribution will come, and you will not be able to do it without enlightenment, right?Then you have been thinking this way for so long without feeling at all. It is really a waste of time. Of course, you can also plant a little good root, but it's a pity.In this way, treat it as if you are doing one thing, and then if you are doing it as one thing, it is impossible for your life to remain unchanged. How to change it?You will like to recite Buddha, and then you will be obedient. What is obedient?Keep the precepts.

It depends on the degree of your faith, the depth of your Taoism, and the magnitude of your transformation. Some people are now.
Like before, we had an old Master Xingyun in Taiwan who had already passed away. When he passed away, wow! Those who maintain strict precepts and don't look at the women, the women don't look at it.
Once I went to fight the Seventh Buddha. After he was finished, his good roots matured, so the old Master Xianyun actively asked him to stay and become a monk. He went to fight the Seventh and asked him to stay and become a monk after the fight.He is a big entrepreneur. Generally speaking, this is rarely the case. Alas, his family has a wealth of money. If he doesn't go back for a day, the company's operation will be problematic.As a result, this person really has good roots! Old Master Zhenyun didn't misunderstand the wrong person, and he immediately agreed.Then, what about his property?What about the company?Big entrepreneur! He made a phone call and went back to his supervisor and said, "My company doesn't need it, I will give it to you." This is what happened! Then his general manager was shocked: "Hey, what's the matter?" To understand, he knew that he was going to be a monk, but he couldn't persuade him. He said, "Otherwise, it's okay. I will help you take care of the company first. If you want to come back and take over, I will pay you back."This staff member is also very loyal and very good. He said, "No, I won't come back again." Wow! That determination is real.Later, he had a great achievement! He also practiced asceticism when he entered the mountain, and he devoted himself to the Buddha.
Of course, none of these things in the world can be compared with the Paradise of Bliss! Nothing is more urgent and more important than doing the Tao with one heart.Especially these things should be told to young people. It is too late for the old people. You can't do it if you don't recite the Buddha. There will be no way to go anytime.So young man! I'm still at a crossroads now, thinking about what I am doing now. The biggest career is to become a monk. This is true, and it is not what a general can do! This is a real man! Able to do great careers, to be a master of man, and to educate man and man.Everyone respects us. As long as you show a monkhood, no matter how bad your cultivation is, people will respect you. You are a member of the Three Jewels! Why?We merged with the Three Treasures, and we also donated ourselves, so the blessing of the Three Treasures is also our blessing, how big it is! It is true that the blessing is the greatest, and the blessing of the monks is the greatest.Because the Buddha's blessing is our blessing, it is one! We donated ourselves, we have nothing, but in fact we have everything.
So what do you say about status? In this world, who is, what kind of status is comparable to that of a monk. Everyone will pray when they see you, right?The current presidents don’t throw you away, because they have poor political performance and will immediately pull you down.The former emperor still had a bit of majesty, but now there is none! The teachers in the school are also despised by others, and the students ignore you, right?When he graduates, he will find someone to beat you up, all of them, right?Usually repaired by you.Oh now! It's terrible!Therefore, the teacher has no status, unlike the Confucian era, there is the so-called respect for the teacher.It seems that all walks of life, you see a doctor, doctors used to be an industry that everyone respects, because he saves people.Now people say that doctors love to make money, and they only love money to become a doctor. Be attached to me.I want to compare with others, I'm better than others, I'm more beautiful than others, etc...Then you say it is like the Blessed One, how does the Shakya Blessed advise us to practice? "Oh! Don't cling to these, let go, let's not care about this body so much, illusion. Oh! Wait..." Do you persuade us to let go, right? May I ask you to let it go? ?Can't let go, right? This is a habit, no way, karma is incredible.
If you want to let it go, you can't let it go. This is the truth, we are the Dharma-ending beings.Therefore, Blessed One Shakya said that we can only recite the Buddha, and can only rely on Amitabha Buddha to save us.
