Just now, a layman here told me that we have a VIP named Uncle Miao. He is gone now, and there is a dog who will come to listen to the scriptures, but... it doesn’t matter, because I use a microphone when I’m on the scene, oh yes There, I fell asleep, ha... I fell asleep. This vajra seed is still planted, this ah! This dog may have been the abbot of the temple in the past, hey! Don’t underestimate it, it can receive the Three Jewels in the temple today. It’s really not an ordinary blessing and karma, it’s just a difference in one thought, and it’s possible to cultivate better than us.
Why does a difference of thought fall into the animal realm? Its blessings are better than ours. Why does it fall into an animal? We can still be human? It is because it is attached to the temple it builds. Does it watch the door, right? Watchdog, right? Watching the dog’s traits, and then also very loyal, the dog’s traits, good traits, loyalty, better than humans! Right? So you look at any of our events. It can make us alert. This is also our teacher. He teaches us that we must not have a difference in thought. When you have cultivated very diligently throughout your life, suddenly you say, "Wow! You see this is my achievement, this monastery From scratch, it’s all my painstaking effort.” The more you become more attached, the more attached, so is there any way to get rid of suffering and get happiness? There is no way. What you cultivate is the missing blessing.
Then the topic we are going to talk about today: the way to get away from suffering and get happiness now.We have talked about emptiness and emptiness. If you are attached to the Dharma and all things that have forms, you will not be able to completely get away from suffering and get happiness. You will get some tangible things, then these tangible things. Things may be blessings, but if there are leaks, they are not pure, so the consequences of the next life are likely to be in the animal world.So what are the real benefits we want to gain from studying Buddhism? Free from suffering and happiness! It's not how many sentient beings I want to save, how much blessing I want to cultivate, this is the key!
So in our lecture today, we can talk about our topic: the method of getting rid of suffering and happiness. This topic can be said to be the most complete and practical teaching method for us to study Buddhism. We practiced for a long time, XNUMX dharma. Isn't it just to get away from suffering and have fun?Or do you want to be a mage?Or do you want to be an abbot?Or are you going to be a rich elder, a great protector...? These, just look at these people first, do they have troubles?Yes... The troubles are very heavy, and the heavier your responsibility is. If you do not practice the emptiness of the Dharma, then you will be attached to all these aspects. If there is leakage in the cultivation, there will be troubles, and there will be the blessing of troubles. Retribution: The greater this kind of blessing, the more pain, pressure, and responsibilities that follow, and even you will have gains and losses, and the more serious your attachments, at that time, you will be farther and farther away from happiness.So we can’t go in the wrong direction when we study Buddhism, and...if we master this very awkward goal, we can really get a lot of benefits right now. There are many worldly laws! There are many teaching methods of Confucianism, Taoism, and Christianity. In fact, they are all very good, and they can give us a lot of benefits, but it’s this kind of joy, and even it can give you a temporary relief from suffering, like Christianity believes in me to have eternal life, the moment you believe in it, in fact, follow our faith in the Pure Land Method. There is a little similarity. It can quickly make your mind calm and have a dependence, but... the real happiness, the ultimate happiness is only in the Buddha.
why?It talks about emptiness to the most thorough point. You can only get into emptiness. From emptiness to existence, from emptiness, you reappear all things. You play magical powers, you cultivate blessings, and you do all kinds of careers. , At that time, there is no leakage of worries, pure... No, there is no leakage of blessings, it is pure, without worries, that happiness is true pleasure.
So we shouldn’t think that practicing Buddhism means doing a lot of merits, cultivating a lot of blessings, and pursuing tangible things. Then you are wrong.Of course you will have rewards. The more you do, the more you cultivate the cause, there will be results, and there will be blessings, but there will be greater troubles that follow, and even clinging to the difference between thoughts. Then you are stupid. It is very dangerous to go to the animal road to enjoy the blessing.
That’s because today’s topic is very important, well...then the time is very limited and only one and a half hours, so let’s not talk too much about it.Let us directly feel for everyone, how to get away from suffering in the present moment.
We just provide some methods. Of course, each person has a different approach, because each person likes different things, and he can feel happy. But there is a principle here. There is a principle: as long as we are Being able to live in your favorite all the time, do what you like best, including practice, don’t think that practice is very hard! It’s hard to practice, unbearable and tolerable, like a monk saying, wow! Practice, especially It seems to be a very difficult thing to be a monk or not to practice. In fact, it is not. Everyone has different roots and natures. When we study Buddhism, we practice peacefully, not ascetic practices.
So the general principle I’m talking about is how you can get away from suffering and get happiness. Now, it doesn’t take a long time, and it’s easy. Everyone can get it. You try to do what you like to do all the time. But there is a prerequisite, it must be healthy and positive, and you can't do something to kill and commit adultery.I like to do it now to kill thieves and adultery, alas! Drinking! It’s very enjoyable, but very exciting! It’s not wrong, but it’s not really happy, it’s anesthetizing yourself, so there will be sequelae, so there’s no way to bring it. Come true happiness, so this sentence of yours is very important, it is the general principle, you are always in every moment, you do what you like most, and it can correspond to your personality, your roots, and your abilities. Only if you like it, the premise is that it is healthy. No matter if this good method is a big or a small matter, even a little volunteer work, you can do a very inconspicuous job or thing, as long as you like it. Just do it, the merits are the same, and there is no difference between the big and small things, you can feel the feeling of happiness.
Many of us now do things that we like to do every day. Most of them are not. They have no choice but to do nothing. This concept is also wrong. As a last resort, it is also imagined by ourselves. No one can control your destiny. only myself.Now the goal is to buy a house, so I have to work XNUMX hours, and I feel like it is a last resort, and then wait until I have been desperate for one or two decades, why the house price has risen again, and the house is still unaffordable, so I have to continue. Fight again, another one or twenty years later, ah! In the same situation, you will never reach your goal, you have been living your whole life, living in every moment, living in a state where you have no choice. So you are destined to be dark in your world.Life is...not in color, but in darkness. Whose decision is that, your own choice, your own conceptual problems, so this general principle is very important.
You ask yourself, what can make you the happiest? Even if you are a chairman now, you are under a lot of pressure, because this is not what you want, you are born a very indifferent person, in order to take over the family business there is no way, you Now hurry up and find someone to help you pick it up. It’s really nothing great, tens of millions to put it down, then it’s nothing. We have too many wealthy monks. We don’t want wealthy wealth. Let it go right now. If you like to be indifferent to you Just do it, it can make a big difference.Why did you study Buddhism for a lifetime? Because you haven't practiced it! No matter how much you listen to the scriptures, you dare not change, so why dare not to change? In fact, you can't find the direction of practice, and you have not mastered the method. Now, if we say that we are free from suffering and happiness, that is exactly what everyone needs and hopes for, but you have not mastered the method, and of course there is no progress.

There is enough vulgar (Taiwanese), because the Fujian dialect gives us the impression, because I am a Taiwanese, then we have southerners in Taiwan who speak Taiwanese and Hokkien, northerners are more fashionable, and people living in large cities in Taipei speak Mandarin speaks Chinese, so we usually use Chinese to sing the Buddha's name and chant the Buddha's name. I also accidentally said it once. Now Taiwan is very popular in Taiwan because it has too many benefits.
Our acquired Buddha One, the Buddha One in the Falun Society, will also introduce to you in detail the special tune. Now I will briefly mention it, mainly to let you feel the atmosphere, but it is very simple to get happiness, especially the Buddha title. That is especially Taiwanese. Why do you want to introduce this method to everyone, because everyone needs to use it. This is not inconsistent with your other tunes. When do you like to use what tune, it doesn’t matter if you want to use a popular soundtrack today, just leave it to you. Like what you think you like to do very happy, you can do it, and don't hurt others as the principle. If you grasp this principle and think about the present, you can get away from suffering and have happiness instead of waiting until you die.
Then why is this Buddha name worth introducing? Because it can help you to recite for a long time without getting tired, so those of us who can really recite the Buddha can really feel the fun in reciting the Buddha, chanting it (Taiwanese), ah Does any of you do not understand Taiwanese Hokkien, some people listen... (Taiwanese), do any of you do not understand Hokkien, a few...wow, a lot of people, it’s okay, so you can speak Chinese, or wait for me It will be knotted, and I can't speak Taiwanese well.
Because of this level, we certainly hope to be like the big...this big Bodhisattva. At midnight or midnight, midnight and midnight is the Buddha's name, but basically we can’t do it. We dream at night. Some are messy, but during the day we can control and decide whether we want to recite or not. As long as you have time, you can recite. So basically we recite the Buddha and expect us to recite for longer and longer. That's for sure.But the time of recitation is getting longer and longer, our physical body is getting older and worse, and our physical strength is getting worse and worse. This karma is not so easy to eliminate. Logically speaking, if you really have the correct method of practice, you will become healthier and healthier. , Longer and longer life, more and more... This disease is less and less, but most of us have no way to feel this kind of induction, so if we adopt this way of thinking, it will make us a little easier.And it's here... Look at this sound. What we just said is all based, but later we checked some information and found out, oh!So who is the master?Who is the guest?That is a foreign language!The real language of our Han people is Taiwanese, Hokkien, so you...We, the parents of Taiwan for nearly a decade or two, as long as they have a little level, and those who value education will let children learn Taiwanese, and then learn these poems. , If we understand this actual situation, after the concept is corrected, you see it is really completely different, the world is very different, the most high-level thing has been...the most vulgar thing (Taiwanese) that has been misidentified by us; then we After turning around now, of course, we feel different when we read. I used to go to the Seventh Buddha. I spent seven days fighting there. Go inside, Amitabha... Amitabha... After you read it, you are out of breath, so I have to lie down for seven days when I go back.Often, I’m afraid of playing the Seventh Buddha, and I don’t have any joy at all. Because I think that I can die in this way. I have no choice but to recite and participate. However, the way you recite this is different from the constant recitation. Every sentence you say is different. Among them are all to help you cheer up. We are generally angry. The more you talk, you will become discouraged and lose your energy (Taiwanese). Essence, energy, and spirit are very important. If you eat black food, you have to replenish your energy for a long time. There is no way to hold that breath, so we don't need money to recite the Buddha, and we can directly recite it anytime and anywhere. Wow, an unprecedented sensation, even the responsible guardian. They often have Fa conferences there, and occasionally they will also invite masters to give lectures mainly on Fa conferences. The person in charge said that he has never participated in so many Buddha one, Buddha three, and Buddha seven that he has never been so happy in the Dharma, and his destiny is sufficient. , I don’t know how to do it. Every time I go there are a lot of people and a lot of listeners. Then the Buddha cultivates together.Usually they tell me that they usually have three Buddhas. In terms of Buddha three, people are okay on the first day, but three to fifty are considered too many. Two or three people are left on the second day. Volunteers can’t leave and only that is left. A few, on the third day, they will come back and go back. They attach great importance to that merit, so they will come back. This is usually the case. Those three, four, three, four, five.. Forty or fifty people are too many. It sits at about six. There were more than a dozen people. As a result, when I went to sit this time, there were no seats for more than seventy people, and the seats were full. The time, the right place, the people, and the fate were just right.Because it is said that Indonesians will not go out as long as it rains, but fortunately, there are still a lot of people when it rains before. I don’t know this. Anyway, the cause is sufficient.
That’s the first time I’ve taken Buddha One this time. I have held Buddha One in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia for XNUMX days this time, and I will also be filming. This time I’ll be in Malaysia. Yesterday...the day before yesterday was For the first time, I didn't expect it to be so outstanding.
Because I was a monk and studied Buddhism for eighteen years, I started teaching with the old monk Jingkong. After graduation, I spread the Dharma everywhere and visited some good knowledge, relying on some good knowledge to learn, but I have never stopped the deacon who taught the Dharma. , I have always only taught the Fa, and know nothing. To put it simply, I have always been specializing in the Pure Land. I can’t say anything. In fact, there is a bit of humility. We monks know everything. If you don’t, you don’t. Fortunately, I’m very popular there because I have to know everything, for example, because I have to learn all five homework, for example, where we have learned this before, we have no choice but to learn. We recite the Buddha. Oh, reciting the Buddha's "Blessed Life Sutra" is just fine. Each has different causes and conditions. Indeed, if you want to die, these are enough.But to be a monk, there are standards for being a monk. Then I went to the jungle to study, and I had to learn everything, and I had no time to use it. Because we still had to spread the Dharma everywhere, there was no opportunity to use it, so I didn’t even think about it. Fortunately, this self-directed dharma meeting is a Buddha chanting, and it is related to our usual major.
I remember one time because I had never participated in any pujas, and once in a large female dojo in Taiwan, of course I had to go to the dojo, of course, I had to order one day, that morning class...she was actually very kind to me. Everyone is very polite to go there, because if she treats me badly, Master, she doesn’t dare to offend me casually one day after she gets on stage. No, this is a joke. Of course she treats me well, then. I also know the rules very well. Although I took up the space, they said that you are welcome, you don’t need to do morning classes and it’s convenient for you, but I will follow the rules myself, and I know how, they don’t have to read all the books when they see it. They are in awe, and she treats you with respect.But once it was early... after the morning class, they didn’t know what puja that day, and I didn’t know what to worship, and I didn’t know what to do. I’m not very familiar with this aspect. Then I would follow along and rejoice, because it was only in the afternoon. I have to leave. I have to leave after lunch. My precepts are not very low. I usually put me in the first position. Wow, it seems that they have some rules. I can’t figure it out in this direction. , Then where to go is very leaky and embarrassing, so you are like this, you have been a monk for so long, right? It looks like you are standing in the front, and then the layman looks at you from the back. You should do It was pretty good, but I didn’t understand it. I walked in black and white. People have already returned to the Buddha’s place. I’m still walking, because every place is sometimes different. When I return to the place and how? A little bit different, they said very rigorously about the Dharma: I'm sorry, the master didn't remind you.I said: It’s okay if you laugh at me, it’s okay, but we must understand everything, and we must be able to cooperate anytime, anywhere.
There are still times when the order is longer or to participate in the study. Although it is not our major, we have to follow the crowd. The basic five lessons are the same.
