Last night I saw an old bodhisattva in our audience. It was a bodhisattva whom I became acquainted with when I came to the Mahalari Pure Sect Society last month to study with everyone.He couldn't understand Chinese, but he took the initiative to listen, which moved me very much.So here, please, please allow me a little time to speak a few words in Hokkien for this old bodhisattva, and also simply use Hokkien to explain to everyone that I and this old Bodhisattva’s A cause and fate.
This old Bodhisattva met when I came to Muar Mahalari Pure Sect Society last month and came here to study with everyone.Then this old Bodhisattva knows how to educate her children and grandchildren. There are almost XNUMX people in her family, and XNUMX or XNUMX people are learning to practice together. So her children and grandchildren are almost full in the past, which can be said to be a special trip. Open a class for them to practice time together.Then her children and grandchildren can devote themselves to cultivating together, of course they all have good roots.
However, this old Bodhisattva misunderstood the Buddha name "Namo Amitabha".So although she respected the Three Treasures very much, and was very happy that these children and grandchildren came to the Buddhist hall to practice together, but she herself did not dare to recite the name of the Buddha.This kind of fear is truly fear from the bottom of my heart.Because the old Bodhisattva has always believed that the phrase "Nammo Amitabha"... is a dead person... Someone in the family is about to die, and there is a dead person in the family... This feeling, the impression that this is very unlucky.
If you hear this or recite the Buddha's name, you will think of things in this area, as if the family is going to ask for it, and it's almost going to be a funeral.It feels like wishing that it is best to avoid it as much as possible.I heard that there are many old Bodhisattvas who have this kind of misunderstanding. Fortunately, all these descendants are very obedient and filial, so when I came to Muar this time, they were very respectful and respectful.Please take this opportunity to explain to this old Bodhisattva. I did not expect to say that this old Bodhisattva has such good roots that he would not dare to recite it in ordinary times. In the end, I only spoke a few words to her, and she was completely capable of it. Understand, it can be transformed.
I told her what he meant by "Nanwu Amitabha Buddha". "Nanwu" means refuge-relying on Amitabha Buddha. The meaning of "Amitabha Buddha" is: immeasurable light, immeasurable wisdom, and immeasurable lifespan.We take refuge in this Buddha who has infinite wisdom and an infinite life span. This is very auspicious! It can make our home safe, and everything will be auspicious.So I persuaded her, I said that when you see a person, you should clap your hands to him... and say to him: "Namo Amitabha" Blessing! Don't take it as this phrase specifically praised by the deceased. I told her about the Buddha name at the time... I also asked her to read it to me at the scene. I deliberately told her to read it immediately so that she could turn her heart around immediately. This on-site training was very effective.
Because for a long time, if you have an impression of misunderstanding, it is sometimes difficult to reverse it on your own.The best thing is that when we understand the meaning, we immediately practice and do it right away. In this case... our merits... the experience is very deep right now.So it should be for this reason, so after the old Bodhisattva listened to it, coupled with her good roots, I didn't expect to say that the effect was so good.It didn't take long for me to go back and after another day or two, I came back to learn here again and I wanted to make offerings to the monk and the master.Moreover, she told her sons-in-laws and grandchildren, some who have not studied Buddhism and haven’t taken refuge, and asked them to join forces. This is very powerful, and it will save sentient beings immediately, you see! Not only can I accept it with joy, but also immediately. The fastest way to take advantage of this extraordinary benefit is to influence our relatives and friends first.The good things are of course to be shared with everyone, and then a few days later, on the last day, many people will take refuge.There are also people who receive the Five Precepts, so this old Bodhisattva herself, her good roots and her intentions are also worth learning.

(XNUMX) The correct learning attitude is to do it immediately after listening
Therefore, our Pure Land Method, to be able to really benefit, is to be like this old Bodhisattva, and be able to accept it after hearing it.And immediately self-interested and altruistic, this is the real listening to the truth, not that I feel good after listening to it, I feel at ease after listening, and forget it after listening to it.In a few days, not only won't benefit, but also all kinds of suspicions will come out. So it's not easy to believe in our method. It must have deep roots of goodness and do it immediately after listening to it.If you do it right away, your experience will be very deep. Just like her, she has already misunderstood this Buddha name very deeply. Normally, she wouldn't dare to recite it, and she could turn it around right away.Because if you do it right away, if you have this condition, turn around and do it right away. From the bottom of your heart, you can receive the blessing of Amitabha.This power is all present in the world, so we have to do it right away after listening to it, and you will feel it.
That is to say, we are here in Muar, and this old Bodhisattva is here today. I am really very interested. I don’t understand Chinese and I still have the solemn dojo here.This is the real benefit of getting the Fa, and the intention to benefit the public to come to the solemn dojo. If you have the heart, you will really do something. It's not like talking with your mouth. If that's the case...it means not having it. What a pity! I will not benefit myself much in the future. I will stop here for the time being in Hokkien, because I am not fluent in speaking. Although I am a Taiwanese, but like our generation... I am considered young. I look young. Compared with our generation Speak Fujian dialect less frequently.So today is especially to encourage the mind and behavior of this old bodhisattva. She is setting a good example for us, a model, and let us learn from it.
We reciting Buddhism are to do our best in this way. If we have the predestined relationship, we will rejoice the merits and do it immediately after listening to it. This is an honest person.So we can see that she has got a lot of benefits. After more than a month, I didn't expect to say that she would come to listen.If she can recite the Buddha often at home, she would be very Amitabha and behaved! I didn't expect to say that she would come to the solemn dojo if she didn't understand, so I was very touched when I saw it yesterday! Give her some encouragement.Ok! There is one more situation I would like to mention here, because I think that when we recite Buddhism, we really want to be in our lives, we must be able to get immediate results, and the benefits and changes will be very fast. First of all, we must also learn from Start learning your own commandments.
Although we reciting the Buddha’s emphasis is: [Faithful and willing], but Master Yinguang said: "One point of sincerity and respect will get one point, and very sincere respect will be very profitable!" So where does this sincere respect be implemented? Precepts-keeping precepts means observing the rules.There are so many rules, where do we start? The most important thing is to learn from what we are practicing together.The basic rules must be met, why? Because whether it is listening to the scriptures or reciting the Buddha, this is all to help us and get the benefits of the Dharma.Then we can implement a very critical stage in our life.So at this stage, if you don’t have the right attitude to learn, that is, if you don’t have a true respect, then you will listen to the scriptures and the Dharma every day, and go to the Buddha and practice together every day, and the benefits will be very limited!

(XNUMX) Respect for listening to the scriptures and the Fa
So there are many rules and regulations. Where do I start? Let me cite our current example. This is also a common phenomenon that I have seen in several cleansing societies in Malaysia over the past month or so.I don’t know if it’s because the climate in Nanyang is so good that we have developed our...very leisurely and lazy lifestyle.I found out that before each lecture, the practitioners actually listened to the lecture very seriously and enjoyed studying the Fa.But there is always a phenomenon that... It’s too late! Have you noticed? Sometimes we start speaking at eight o’clock, and we’re all seated one after another. It may be half past eight. Fortunately, we rush back and forth before the end. of.Anyway, it is also a cheer. If it is like this... Actually, this respectful heart may be overlooked by us, but we really did not achieve it.Unless we are really busy and can't keep up, that is definitely excusable. You are so busy and willing to come and study specially, then this spirit is especially worthy of praise!
But if it’s not, we are very leisurely like this, walking slowly as if going to a movie. This kind of mood to listen to the Fa, in fact, is not equal to the rhythm of receiving the Fa benefits...the kind that can correspond to the Fa...the mood of the mood is not equal .Five minutes...ten minutes, for example, let's talk at XNUMX:XNUMX, preferably at XNUMX:XNUMX.It’s best to sit down in advance or at the slowest twenty-five minutes before listening to the Fa. Cultivate your emotions first, and do well... The state of letting this Fa reach your heart is to sit and recite the Buddha's name silently.
In the past, the Patriarch’s Great Virtue even preached the scriptures, or when the Blessed One was preaching...usually, he had to enter concentration before the lecture.That's because we are talking about it now, because we can't get into samādhi, so we just save this set.But what is its spirit? It must be in concentration, whether it is the speaker or the listener, first let the mind dwell in a very stable state.People who speak at this time are easy to have enlightenment and inspiration.The content that I didn't expect to talk about in the first place suddenly appeared, and people who listened to it were especially easy to enlighten.If you have made preparations beforehand, and settled down your mental and physical mentality of listening to the Fa; then, in this way, you will definitely be different in terms of obtaining the benefits of the Fa.It’s actually not difficult to do. We usually ignore it and don’t pay attention. We usually learn it, and it seems that there is no special requirement.
I only noticed one place, there is a society, it has a special written on the bulletin board: Lectures start at XNUMX o'clock, then please be seated forty-five minutes before! Because on the one hand, let yourself calm down first; on the other hand, We should be there when we open the scriptures and salute in front of us, and say the master Shakyamuni Buddha three times, we should be there, right? This is the Buddha! We all respect the Buddha, the Dharma and the monk! The Buddha doesn’t care about him, just come in and listen. Fa? Then get close to this monk's treasure? It seems that there is a bit of regret and incompleteness! Right?
Moreover, "Buddha" we must be the most respectful. Although it is inconvenient for us to sit in a position to worship, we must also give birth to respectful worship in our hearts, and then chant through this opening verse. This process, this solemn atmosphere, allows us to develop a respect for the Fa! Strike the heart... Strike a form of respect from the heart! The blessing power at that time was great, different! If you don’t believe me, try it again. Think about it. Don't do wrong demonstrations again.Come early, and then calm your mind down...including the whole... The opening part of the scriptures in front of you, you should feel attentively...It's really different.
This opening verse is from Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty, this generation of empress, her own Buddhist accomplishment is very high, this verse is written by her: Hundreds of thousands of catastrophes! Since it is hundreds of thousands of catastrophes, I can withstand what I have seen and heard. , I wish to understand the true meaning of the Tathagata! She has this kind of heart... But, take your time and walk slowly, sometimes you don't hear it before, then it is not like willing to understand the true meaning of the Tathagata.Wait a minute, maybe you made a mistake. I didn’t hear the first one, but the latter is interpreted in the text. Isn’t that very miserable? So this is a respect. We want to show up in our behavior. Isn’t this perfect? There is a head and a tail... No Is it an auspicious thing?

(XNUMX) Observing the rules in life is keeping the precepts
That... So in everything we do, we must also develop this habit, try to have the beginning and the end as much as possible, big and small things, this is observing the rules, that is, keeping the precepts.We have a lot of opportunities in our lives to train, big and small things... We all use this kind of respect and a perfect mentality to complete it from beginning to end! No matter whether I do well or not, I will do my best. It is completed, this is respectful heart!
Respect is not about seeing the mage coming, and seeing what kind of special situation, and then immediately raising this alert, then there is no way to change your habit, and there is no way to become your inner temperament.It should be this kind of respectful attitude in everything from morning to night in the middle of two or six o'clock, then you unknowingly develop your righteous habits.Your temperament will soon transform, and it really looks like-a good man, a good woman! To practice like this, this is a way of doing things.
Our practice is not just to recite the Buddha, this is the fundamental foundation of being a human being.That’s because we usually ignore it and don’t pay attention to starting from here, so take this opportunity to remind everyone here! We can hear a little and we will do a little, and slowly we will find that we actually know a lot. , I really know the rules, so if you have the opportunity, you can guide some later studies. We really look like seniors!
Don’t learn for one or twenty years, and don’t even understand the basic rules! Even if we are very compassionate and want to persuade others to study, but they seem to have a bad foundation, then there is no way to build confidence in you. .Of course, this is aimed at the disciples we have already converted to enter Buddhism.I don’t know anything about beginners.... Of course, we have to be particularly tolerant of him, and then slowly guide him to learn. In fact, this is also the most basic etiquette. I hope everyone can pay attention here!
Like the ancient patriarch of the great virtue, the second ancestor of Zen, this is the most representative-Hui Ke.He used to ask for the Dharma and the ancestor of Bodhidharma, because his heart was restless, and he had studied and cultivated for a long time. Before he went to see Bodhidharma, Hui Ke was a master of the scriptures. He was also very close to the Dharma. He was also very clever and learned. well.But because he hasn't fully enlightened him, he just understands the teachings, but he hasn't gotten into his realm yet, so his heart is restless, and he always feels that he hasn't gotten real benefits and no sense of relief.So after arriving at Dharma, he went to seek Dharma, hoping that Dharma could help him and give him a way of peace of mind.
In fact, when we practice Buddhism, we just want to be at ease, so how did he ask for it? When he went, Bodhidharma ignored him. Bodhidharma had been meditating in the Houshan cave and facing the wall for nine years.So he is a person who really wants to work hard. He doesn't interrupt or care about people casually. It's not that he sees people and is embarrassed not to say hello to you. Then he will stop talking when he wants to participate. There is no way to participate in enlightenment.
A true practitioner, he doesn't like being interrupted by others, just like when we recite Buddhism, it is easy for him to make a movie.It seemed very embarrassing to meet the people in the world who didn't say hello to the people in the world.However, practitioners can actually not deliberately care about these etiquettes.But you have to let people understand that you are working hard and don't be misunderstood. In this case, he can actually ignore Hui Ke, which is normal.However, in order for Hui Ke to ask for the Fa, he would rather wait outside.
Keep waiting... keep waiting... even in the snowy weather, the snow has been... he waited for a long time, until the snow had accumulated to his knees so high, Bodhidharma deliberately ignored him, to test his sincerity! In the end there was no way, he... Bodhidharma remained as if he did not move, the Patriarch is the Patriarch! In the end Hui Ke cut off his arm with a knife. This is called the broken arm to seek the law... this gongan.
What does this tell us? To truly demand liberation, you must truly have respect and sincerity! It is to have this kind of willingness to sacrifice one's life, but also to complete the wholeheartedly to complete this thing, it does not matter that you can pay all the price, this It's really respectful. Of course, we don't need to do this now. We need to understand that our current human nature is really far behind the previous people.

(XNUMX) All things in life must be fulfilled with respect and consummation
Master Yin Guang said: "One point is sincere respect and one point is benefited, and very sincere respect is very benefit!" So why we have been studying for so long and always feel unable to do so. In life, there is no way for even some small things in general. To hold back the troubles, there is no way to solve them, use cleverness to solve them! The reason is that we have problems in our attitude towards learning, so even if you listen to a lot of Dharma, that Dharma does not reach your heart! Into your heart! Of course you did not receive the blessing power! The same is true even when we recite the Buddha! So these days, we have to study with our heart. How can we recite this Buddha's name? How can we use our heart to experience this Buddha's name The merit?
So first of all, when we listen to the Fa, we must first have this respectful heart. Where can the respectful heart be implemented? I just gave an example: Please be seated on time! As much as possible! It is really too late to traffic jams, of course, you have to be careful when driving. , Then we try our best to arrange the time to go out early. From here, we can gradually grasp how to show our respect? The little things in life are the same, and the trivial things in life are also required. To implement respect is to make things complete from start to finish, and then try to do it well, don't just do it casually.
Then this is enough for you to be busy. For many things in life, you must use this mentality to train yourself, develop good habits, and develop good living habits and attitudes.In this way, we can quickly transform our temperament, so no matter what you are studying or listening to the Fa, you will feel that you can easily absorb it and get benefits easily.
Yesterday, I probably talked to fellow practitioners about the causes and conditions of our initiation of this Fa conference, and I also made a self-introduction, so since I want to talk it is an explanation to the public. Talk about Consummation.
So we will continue to give you a report in the next part, so this part also particularly involves me in studying the Fa. This part also mentions the process of my understanding and transformation of our Pure Land Faculty. Come out through this self-introduction part and share it with everyone.
Yesterday, I was talking about that after we received two full ordinations at Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island, Hong Kong, for three years in a row, I still made my mind to go back to Po Lin Monastery and settle down in summer, continue to learn the precepts, learn the precepts, then other I also made dharma fate with everyone at home and abroad during the same period of time. I went to the mainland and also in XNUMX... In XNUMX, I also returned to the Singapore Pure Sect Society. I also worked hard for more than a year. I have also participated in many places at home and abroad, so I have formed a connection with fellow practitioners.
During those few years, I found that...every time I was promoted to lecture, the lecture became tasteless. How could it be like this? This is a very serious problem. At first, we devoted ourselves to teaching lectures, and then...after graduation, of course we were very happy. Hi, it's the same as everyone...thanks to many bodhisattvas who also took the initiative to accomplish our repetition.Even if he didn't speak well...coming to doze off, he was very interested in coming to the solemn dojo.
So after that period of retelling, we are also very grateful for the achievements of the public, and of course we are very motivated and work hard to communicate with you.
But after a few years of this, I found that the more I talked, the more it tasteless, why did it tasteless? I saw fellow initiates dozing off and then became listless. Although I listened very carefully, but... I always I feel ashamed to the public, and there is no way to give real benefits to the practitioners.Always let everyone make us, the teachers are the teachers, and the students are the students. We must always maintain this humble attitude towards learning.Of course it should be, but... I always hope that the audience can also benefit.

(XNUMX) Karma of participating in studies at home and abroad
But it is true... Based on the experience of the past few years, it is indeed not only me, but also other classmates. What we see seems to be able to bring you great joy and great benefits... I’m afraid it’s not easy. Probably only our old monks can do it.Then I thought it seemed like...it should be a breakthrough, but I don’t know where the problem lies? Later, I went to study everywhere, hoping to get some enlightenment from the Confucian classics first, because I studied for a few years, and it was completely impossible. He specializes in the Pure Land Dharma, and has no contact with the teachings of other sects.
That.. Our old monk, when explaining the Pure Land Method, he actually quoted the names of various sects, such as the "Huayan Sutra" rooftops, consciousness, precepts, etc... He mentioned them all.So I thought... it’s better to take this opportunity to learn from the old monk’s mention of these other denominations, and really understand it; then maybe it can help us in forming bonds with the masses. It can increase some benefits... can really be produced, and you can speak happily, and people who listen to it can also get real benefits.
So after three years of living in this place, I returned to Singapore for more than a year. After that, I went to study everywhere. When I returned to Taiwan, I went to a Buddhist academy. Then this Buddhist academy is Taiwan... and it is very famous. A Buddhist college for women.Master Zhaohui, the head of the dean, is very good. She is the eldest sister among our bhikkhunis, and a strong woman! Taiwan's academic circles are very developed, so I went to this place to study.
After that, I went one step further and went to the research institute, Taipei Yuanheng Research Institute. The equipment of that research institute is also top-notch and international.The class we have in class uses the international-level conference hall, which is really hardware equipment, and the teachers are the best.We hired professors from research institutes in Fo Guang Shan, or Hua Fan University, etc.... professors from these government-registered universities or research institutes to teach us.Therefore, during my time in the school, my destiny was indeed very good, which broadened my horizons, so I really learned the core principles of other sects.
However, after studying for a few years, I came to a conclusion: We have all heard people say that the Pure Land Method is the first and the highest level.But when we listen to it like this, even if you really agree with what our teacher said, you can’t realize it... Then when I go to the school, I really learn the doctrines of other sects, the core doctrines, it’s really true. The thing is that Viet Cun has a higher respect for our Pure Land Method... and it is indeed true to the teachings of our Pure Land Method. This practice is the most complete and highest state.
However, although we understand, is there any way we ourselves can get the decisive... to achieve this state of consummation.It's still not good in our pure land method, and it's still not good after participating in it for a long time.I thought... After we can understand the names and signs that the old monk said, we may be able to achieve breakthroughs in our chanting of Buddhism. From my personal experience... there is still no way!

(XNUMX) Encountering the cause and condition of good guidance thought
Then one day there was a miracle... the blessing of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! When I was studying in the institute, in the classroom of the institute, it was impossible for the booklet to appear in the classroom. It was the quotation of Master Shandao. It was the only one. A copy of it seems to be waiting for me to get it.This booklet is... It turns out that it’s impossible to appear in that place. There is only one. Then I have a habit of seeing magic weapons. I would pick it up and flip through it. At that time, I saw that the more I turned it over, the more my whole body was shaking. , Trembling! Very shaking! That feeling is really incredible! If it were not for the blessing of Buddha, there would be no such strong reaction.
Intuitively... So I spent a few years, two or three years to verify my intuition. How to verify it? Pure land thought, we haven't studied in the past and haven't come into contact with it. We also read and did research on the inheritance analysis of the entire Chinese Pure Land Buddhism.
It turns out that there are three types of ideas in our Pure Land Method. Among the thirteen Patriarchs, there are three types. They have classifications. So at that time, I once went to Malaysia to talk about Yuantongzhang. I often talked about the practice, and I also encouraged fellow practitioners to rest assured that there is no problem with kung fu, as long as you read it carefully...really, this is fine.But I didn't dare to tell fellow practitioners... It's okay to be unruffled, righteousness at the end of the day... Then even if it's a piece of work, we are still unsure of our death.
Then through myself, I took a little bit more attentiveness and really closed the door intently. Someone guarded the gate and chanted Buddha in it. After such a few times of experience, even if I had a little bit of effort to complete the film, even if there was that. Kind of... Anyway, large and small films, this is not difficult for everyone to experience.But even after you exit the customs and enter the crowd, you will find...will retreat! Your confidence will retreat, and your filming will...that state will disappear.In other words, how do we work hard, this kind of confidence and this kind of power still can't make us able to ensure that we have faith in the next life.So our practice really needs to be further studied to find out where the problem is? We always have to achieve the goal, we must be sure of the death.
Okay! I just talked about... Why is it so shocking to meet Master Shandao? Because what he said is the third thought analyzed in the history of Chinese Buddhism: it is pure "other power", XNUMX% relying on the power of Buddha .Therefore, among the thirteen ancestors of our Pure Land Sect, there are three categories, different thoughts and different practices. This is not an ordinary person. The Tathagata was born out of this world. He only said Amitabha's original wish for the sea.This means that the Buddhas in the ten directions have come to Tathagata. They have taught and said for a lifetime, just like our Blessed One’s Tripitaka and Twelve Books. The forty-nine years of so many sutras have been taught in order to guide everyone. Just to prove to us that there is nothing wrong with this sentence, "The Tathagata is born out of the world, but the Amitabha's original wish is the sea." The old monk also said how Buddha Shakyamuni became a Buddha? It means to recite and become a Buddha, not only Samantabhadra, but also waiting for enlightenment. A bodhisattva must lead to bliss if he wants to become a Buddha. Even the Blessed One has to recite the Buddha to become a Buddha. Therefore, this method is truly the most extraordinary!
So how do we get the most extraordinary? As long as we follow the teachings of Master Shandao, we can get it, because we know what the characteristics of the Pure Land Method are? Simple and easy-three roots are universal, ten thousand people will go.Right? Then why did we not find it easy to learn in the past? It is not easy to do? Then there is no hope for each person to go, it is not in line with the characteristics of the Pure Land Method!
Where is the problem? It turns out that we didn't grasp the most core practice. The previous practice was not wrong, but it was not the most core practice.It’s not the most standard pure land practice. What about the past? Our Tang version of "The Wuliang Shou Jing" has five original translations, and there are five original translations.One of the books, the twenty-second book translated by the Tang Dynasty, has a paragraph that says: "If there are good men and good women, if you have been born, if you are alive, you will live in the gathering of Zhengding, and decide to prove to Ahunduo. If you are alive, if you are alive, it refers to those of us now, if you are a person who has already passed away, if you are alive in the gathering of right concentration, the gathering of right concentration is non-retreat.

The great enlightenment taught by the teacher, the whole is completely understood, what is Amitabha's mind thinking?
But this is difficult! It’s hard to rely on ourselves, but as long as we have this heart, the power of the Buddha will bless it! Through daily chanting of the Buddha, and often with our heart, we want to have a deeper understanding. The meaning of these vows... we really With each passing day, the more I can feel the heart of Amitabha.What kind of state is it? Then these two wishes show, what kind of heart is Amitabha Buddha? The great compassion that surpasses the Buddhas!
Usually we see... the average fellow practitioners in the past impressions would not pay special attention to these two vows and fail to see the true inner meaning of them, so you won't get the blessings of these two vows.Generally, fellow practitioners would think that anyway, as long as the land of the Buddhas in the ten directions is the land of the Buddha, there must be no three evils, so this is not very special... And we are not beings of the three evils, usually it has nothing to do with us, we I don't pay special attention to it, right? They really ignore it gently...just take it lightly.
In fact, these two wishes are also telling us, are there three evil ways in our world? Yes! Is greed the way of hungry ghosts? Is there anyone who is not greedy? On the surface, people are hungry ghosts in their hearts, many... There are also animal ways. Those who don't follow the precepts... People who get married and still have girlfriends outside... Then his morality and behavior are no different from Brutal Dao.No one here, I’m not scolding you, I’m just talking about the matter! Hell, let’s go and see... the emergency room in the hospital, cut you here, cut off this hand and foot...for fear of your cancer spreading...here One piece, cut a piece there, sometimes the heart will open... What's the difference between that and the way of hell? Suffering and suffering!
So in fact, the objects of these two wishes are not just the three evil realms in our past concepts. In fact, their true meaning is... the six realms of sentient beings that contain sin and suffering are all counted.Then these two vows are issued for us, so why are they put in the first vow and the second vow? We have to interpret this sutra from many angles...from the order of its scriptures, it has its meaning. The first two vows are issued, and the first is for us. What does this mean! Amitabha is the one who loves us the most! This method is also the forty-eight vows, and the most important thing is to save us. Out of the forty-eight vows, there are only five vows. There is nothing worse than it is.
Therefore, the relationship between Amitabha Buddha and us is actually very close! We should experience his love for us.In this anxious mood, why don’t the Buddhas’ kingdoms have the three evils? It’s because the Buddhas’ kingdoms... among the ten directions and the Buddhas, these other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have no way for sentient beings to go.So of course not. Have you noticed? Amitabha Buddha is different from other Buddhas. Other Buddha statues are usually sitting.Why are they all sitting? This also has the meaning of showing the Dharma. Sitting means the nobleness of the teacher, only smelling the past and learning but not listening to the teaching.You have to take the initiative and respect to ask for the Fa and teach you this way, so that you can benefit from it.If the teacher takes the initiative, and even the Buddha takes the initiative to teach you, then you are disrespectful to the Buddha, and then you should stop learning in the future, and you can't get any benefit.Therefore, if a Buddha wants to save sentient beings, he must transform into a bodhisattva. A bodhisattva is our fellow daoist and equal status. He can take the initiative to help you and be an uninvited friend.
But it is strange that only Amitabha is standing, standing.And his hand has been stretched out, and he stretched out ready to save us at any time.What does this expression mean? Amitabha He is very worried and anxious anytime and anywhere, and he does not want to delay for a moment. It is as if we are all drowning people and have fallen in the sea of suffering. We don't want to go! So the world-honored person is like living in a dungpit, living with those who defecate and live with them all day long! Seeing that our children are suffering all day long and don’t know that they are going to leave. He is in this mood anytime and anywhere, both anxious, distressed and sad!
We can really appreciate it, especially when we are really attentive to help the people around us, knowing that he is suffering, we unconditionally as long as we have destiny...We will do our best to help him, but if all beings are not enough for good roots and merits , You tell him that he can't accept it.He is clearly suffering, but he can’t accept your help to him, don’t believe it! He doesn’t believe in the Buddha and asks for the Buddha... and he can solve it, he can get you peace of mind, he can turn big and small things into nothing, and can really solve everything completely. Karma, all suffering.He doesn't believe it! What is our mood when you meet people who don't believe it? I really feel sorry for him. Besides, we can all have this...compassion, compassion! So it’s also very important to start from this aspect, because we ordinary beings usually only think of ourselves, right? From morning till night, we only think of ourselves. Even if I practice and study Buddhism, I think all day long: Have I finished studying Buddhism? I have been able to help me get wealth by reciting Buddhism? Or can it help me avoid disasters? I just watched all day... I want to get results quickly. What benefits can I get from seeing "I"? Right? At the beginning, I hope I can get some benefits. Of course, we must get benefits in our studies before we can do this.The question is how can we really get the benefits of this law?

Because she is very clever, then ask her what kind of person this Amitabha Buddha is this time? Children who don't understand, just look at Amitabha Buddha with our own thinking.In fact, he used to ask this question before...every time a mage came, he asked, so his mother didn't know how to answer it.She said that the previous masters replied to him: "Amitabha Buddha is immeasurable light and immeasurable life..." she explained like this.As we usually understand, a child's listening like this may not be of much use. There must be no way to satisfy his thirst for knowledge, so he has to ask again every time.
Then his mother came to ask me this time, and I told him, I said, “You don’t need to answer him, but you ask him, what do you think Amitabha is like? Aren’t you going to the Paradise of Bliss? Sometimes he listens to the scriptures, then what kind of person do you think he is?" You guide him to know Amitabha Buddha with your heart! Only by guiding him in this way, then his inner experience is the real, his realm.If we tell him about immeasurable light and immeasurable life...or we tell him... how powerful and wise Amitabha Buddha is...whatever...however you speak, it is in your realm, not his realm.So he forgets after listening, kids forget quickly, right?
It's the same for adults. Listening here and coming out there is definitely not profound.So I said you shouldn't answer him, you keep asking him back, causing him... to guide him to think, we can do the work of guiding.Then every time he thinks of... a characteristic of Amitabha Buddha, it immediately falls into his heart. This is what he has with Amitabha... a relationship is truly established.
So when I knew about this, I really felt from the bottom of my heart that we adults are not as good as this kid.We also made a vow, and he made a vow too.He would think all day long, what kind of person is Buddha Amitabha? Have we ever thought about it? What kind of Buddha is Amitabha Buddha? Probably not many people here often think about this question.If you think about it often, then you must have a close and familiar relationship with Amitabha! You are more familiar than the other half of you. If you can exceed the relationship between you and the other half, how can you not have a relationship with him? Right?
So this is a very important one, a corresponding pipeline.Look at our two wishes, you can experience Amitabha’s compassion! In fact, the more virtuous the root, the simpler it is. Like the old Bodhisattva telling him: "Old Bodhisattva, I tell you, there is a blissful world in the West, and there is an Amitabha Buddha. He is very compassionate and vows for us. If you are willing to nod your head, ask Amitabha to take in. We go to the world of bliss and become a Buddha, then when the time is up, He will take us there immediately. Then we don’t have to say where we will be born or die. No, we will not die! We will be born to bliss immediately The world has an infinite life span. This is all blessed by Amitabha..." The old Bodhisattva believes as long as he hears this.
So when we help others, the same is true. When you meet someone with good roots, you just have to talk to him briefly...especially people who are dying, he has no choice.So as long as you can say a few words...you can send a Buddha into a Buddha.Through the aspiration of Amitabha, we are a condition. As long as we help introduce this method, let people know that there is this method, and they can become Buddha in their lifetime.He doesn't need to cultivate, and we don't need to persuade him for a long time. It's as simple as that! You only need to grasp the main points, so this has deep roots in goodness.

Three years of attaining the Buddha samādhi, naturally joyful accomplishment.Therefore, when we practice according to this method, not only can we quickly develop confidence, but also is full of joy in the current Dharma, and the whole person is reborn.And we can go further and help others. How can I help others? I have confidence myself. I naturally have this kind of confidence... it can be radiated to the people around you. You can easily influence others and develop confidence.
In other words, I can still make a wish. Anyway, I will naturally like to recite the Buddha, so in the future I can still stand and walk, sit and walk... foreseeing the time... and even recite the Buddha Samadhi! Everyone can do it, if we follow This correct method, mentality and method, according to the instructions given to us by Master Shandao, everyone can do, so the method of learning is very important.
We now have a chance to meet it, so we must take it well and don't miss every opportunity to listen to the Fa.Because everyone has different conditions for joining, some people may join from the eighteenth wish, and some people may join from the thirteenth wish. These are all key wishes.So every time we wish, we must use this mood, ready to be at the moment, we will become one with Amitabha, and we hope that everyone can maintain this mentality.
Then tomorrow, I also hope to be able to sit down early and calm down five minutes earlier, and start chanting the Buddha in my heart first. It is best to chant the Buddha all the way, so that Amitabha knows our heart for seeking the Dharma, and He will definitely give us great blessings.This is something we naturally feel. If we cultivate this cause, we will have that effect, and we will naturally have induction.
