No matter how good people are, they will have their shortcomings more or less in behavior, and even bad people will have their merits. We will have different views on where we stand, on what standard, and on the degree of our own defilement.Therefore, I personally observe the principles of others. I only learn what Yinzu taught me. I only look at the good looks, not the bad ones. I only look at the parts that have an effect on my own cultivation. Turn a blind eye, just see the phenomenon clearly, see clearly the cause and effect of the director, and no longer let it continue to have thoughts, separate attachments, just use it as a teaching material and be alert, and will not make any subjective conclusion.When we observe others, our attitude is also very important, and we must not use the attitude that I have the ability to judge. This is a problem with our own mentality and foothold, and the results obtained are determined to be unsatisfactory.Because if the other party is really a person whose realm is higher than ours, then we are like elementary school students watching doctoral students. How can we see what is going on?And it is very likely that people will be looked down upon by looking through the cracks of the door because of the prevailing subjective ego and selfishness, so they will miss the opportunity to get close to the good teacher, and even cause disrespectful karma. Therefore, the best attitude is to take You must actively cultivate good roots, do good deeds and accumulate virtue, and be inspired by your good heart and deeds. You will naturally be able to sense the blessings of good teachers. In addition, all observation and judgment will inevitably not be limited to your limited vision and heart. I can't see the truth in the middle, so here I will briefly talk about my own experience.My entry into Buddhism should have been arranged by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the dark, because I did not learn Buddhism by initiative, and when I became a monk, I shaved my hair in a confused way. I have talked a lot about the cause and karma of playing cards. I have talked a lot about this process in the karma of learning Buddhism in the first episode of the "Immeasurable Longevity Sutra" CD. Here I just want to mention a few good teachers and teachers who I have really been close to. Some feelings and real events are given to you as a specific reference for getting close to good knowledge in the future.In fact, it is the teacher who chooses the disciple, not the disciple, who chooses the teacher, because as a disciple, whether in terms of wisdom or merit, you have no ability or position to choose a teacher. As a disciple, you can only rely on it. The good roots and merits are just corresponding, but because of the bluffing of Buddhism today, many outsiders in the name of Dharma use various methods to attract disciples. In order to protect beginners from outsiders, it is indeed necessary to have a certain degree of criteria for selecting good teachers. However, if you really want to feel the teaching of a good teacher, the fundamental condition is to be inspired with sincerity. Otherwise, even if the teacher blesses you in front of you, you will not be able to absorb it. Only people with good roots and good karma can truly sense Taoism.

My first-time Buddhist teacher was an eminent monk of JingzongnetunderOld monk Kong, I have always had a learning attitude towards teachers and even all good teachers, and I have never dared to comment and compare, so now I just briefly describe the benefits of my personal intimacy process for everyone as a study. As for all kinds of comments, it is still left to everyone to understand. After all, Buddhism talks about karma, everything is karma, people who meet karma only see the advantages, and those who don't see karma can't see the benefits of each other. Therefore, it is meaningless to talk about all subjective conclusions. Besides, we Buddhist practitioners should understand that all appearances in the external world are the reflection of our own mind. What we see in our eyes is the state of our own mind. If you see all kinds of impure distinctions in the outside world, it is the seeds of defilement in your heart that are showing up, you should raise vigilance and repentance immediately, and immediately purify it with the name of a pure Buddha. Derivative delusions and attachments, so a true cultivator should never see the world. Therefore, when I give some practical examples to study, I also remind everyone that you must study with a healthy attitude, instead of talking about right and wrong. A lively commentary attitude, so that you won't get any benefit from studying the Fa, but you're still guilty.

Personally, I can say that I am very fortunate. When I was a beginner, I was able to meet an eminent monk who is full of sutras and teachings in modern Buddhism and has a special dharma.netunderThe old monk Kong, in his lectures, the old man often taught his disciples not to see the teacher before, and he often gave a lecture by Master Yinguang: "A part of sincerity will bring a lot of benefits, and a lot of sincerity will bring great benefits." The lectures of this kind made me particularly aware of the importance of cultivating respect, so when I was a beginner, I made a specific vow in my heart, praying for the blessing of the Buddha's power, so that I would never see a teacher or anyone else in my life.I haven't seen others before, although I still haven't been able to do it completely, especially when I personally instruct the students around me, I have to pay careful attention to the students' behaviors, so at best I can only keep my likes and dislikes when blaming others. Distinguish the mind, try to correct faults on a case-by-case basis with objective rationality and compassion.Fortunately, I haven’t seen teachers and teachers. I can still learn and uphold this point cautiously. Therefore, I can often feel the protection and blessings of teachers and good teachers on my cultivation path in the past XNUMX years since I entered Buddhism. Grateful.

At first, this topic attracted my attention, and then I decided to give up my heart to follow the old monk. The road to the West, so I got close to the old monk because of the Fa rather than attachment to people.Even so, the compassionate and skillful receptivity of the old monk's teaching can indeed make many disciples develop a deep attachment to the old monk, so in the first few years of school, sometimes in my sleep, I dreamed of slander. If I want to hurt the old monk, I can immediately stand up to protect the teacher regardless of my life. This kind of mentality is not because I am not afraid of death, but a kind of emotional response that I should naturally have as a disciple.The Fa study period in the Singapore training class can be said to be a golden period for me to get close to the old monks, but during that period I was ostracized by almost everyone, and the reason was only because I had offended important people in the former residence there. The spread of karmic causes, but in the final analysis, it is still my own karmic vocation and the shallowness of merit.

During my training in Singapore, when I was most helpless and distressed, I felt that there was only the old monk beside me who truly loved me, because he had no time to listen to right and wrong, and he was not influenced by foreign and rootless teachings. Interacting with the students, I can also feel that the old monk can keep a very pure heart and love for the Fa-rectification, and he also has a lofty and beautiful ideal for cultivating the next generation of Dharma-promoting talents. Buddhism spread to the vast mainland China and even all over the world.Although he was seventy years old at that time, his innocence like a child could still be vaguely revealed from time to time. On the day when the students gave the old monk a homework for grading before the graduation of our training class, the old monk used to deliberately stay in the classroom. Dozens of classmates took the initiative to say a few words to me in front of me, expressing their encouragement and recognition to me with open caring actions, and even took the student name "Renjing" for me in person to use it as the title of preaching the Dharma in Japan. I have all the kindness in my heart and never dare to forget it. This is the first modern Jingzong eminent monk I was fortunate to be close to.However, just after graduating with honors in the XNUMXth Dharma Promotion Training Course, the old monk wanted to arrange me to live in the Jingzong Institute in Australia, but I was hindered, so I had to leave the Jingzong Institute in Singapore, and then go back after two years. When visiting an old monk in Hong Kong, the karma was different. As soon as the old monk met me, he scolded me for XNUMX minutes without asking the reason, and didn’t give me a chance to explain it. At that time, I felt the power of fearful words for the first time. , Even an elder like an old monk couldn't help but have some doubts about the teacher's style for the first time in order to take care of the overall situation or.... Although the cause and karma changed so suddenly, in the process of many visits and Dharma requests, The old monk still answered my questions mercifully and reluctantly, but the emphasis of his warnings turned to the words that the bell still needs to be tied.From these various karmic changes, I really realized one thing, whether teachers or even all good teachers can give us only guidance and encouragement, and to really eliminate karma, we must rely on our own efforts to cultivate blessings and wisdom. We should learn to undertake all the karma directly, and grow from it until we are able to be the spiritual support of others. Only in this way can we truly repay the teachers' kindness to our teachings.From that moment on, my heart began to be truly independent, and I was no longer just relying on wishful thinking for the blessing of the old monk.

After graduating, I had to leave the Jingzong Society, where I originally expected to live for a lifetime, and I was forced to go to other places to study, which opened my heart and expanded my horizons. All kinds of blessings in the world have made my Dharma benefit more comprehensive and richer. I am convinced that all these karma are the best arrangements of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. In the end, but a teacher for one day, a father for life, as long as you can benefit from the closeness, as long as you can truly lead us towards the right path of light, no matter how deep or shallow the current relationship is, for me, that is the most important thing. A perfect good teacher, and the relationship and influence of teachers and students will not disappear from generation to generation.

After leaving the Institute, I was lucky enough to meet Lantau Island, Hong KongHolyunderThe opportunity of an old monk to protect his thoughts, Master Shengyi, he made me receive the great precepts of the two monks and three altars, and also gave me the opportunity to live in the jungle Taoism Baolin Temple established by the old monk Xuyun to nurture the born monks. During the XNUMX-day stay in Jiexia in the third year, I had the opportunity to be taught by the master every afternoon with the attendants.Because Master Shengyi has repaired ancestral temples and monasteries in various places in the mainland, he has made offerings everywhere, so he is known as the guardian of the diamond, and he is a Buddhist elder who is highly respected by even atheistic Communists. The monk's method of teaching the Dharma, the ninth generation descendant of the Weiyang Sect, has directly inherited the family tradition of Xu Lao. He has practiced asceticism all his life. He is always ready to respond to those who come to seek alms. Ming also will be compassionate and rejoicing to make offerings, and will never disappoint any future Buddha. He has truly achieved the virtue of waiting, resentment, love and selflessness. From the master, we can really see the lofty bearing and compassion that mortals do not have. Straight down, his meditation is like a mountain, always in meditation, making people feel stable and reliable, looking at it from a distance, close to left and right and feeling warm and cordial, just like his grandfather, there is no distance, feeling To the extent that even if we children make mistakes unintentionally, Master will never blame him in the slightest. The depth of virtue displayed by Master is truly a realm that is difficult for disciples to reach in their lifetime. This is the first time since I entered Buddhism. The two close and great teachers are the great virtues of the patriarchs in the contemporary Zen sect.

At this time, I was fortunate to have received the merciful achievement of the Holy One Master, officially received the three altars, and became a real monk nun, perhaps because of the special blessing and protection of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. During the process, I personally met all great wise teachers, and I rarely had the opportunity to share karma and had direct contact with some so-called illegitimate Buddhist disciples. , how do we identify these people?First of all, it is necessary to observe whether their words and deeds are consistent, whether they attach importance to the precepts, or they often talk about the open relationship as a contingency.I have also met a bhikkhuni who actively wanted to associate with me, but I naturally did not correspond with her and therefore missed the chance. She became a monk when she was old. Before she became a monk, she was a business person, so she was very good at greeting after she became a monk. Believers often hold large-scale vegetarian banquets or pujas to raise some offerings to build a monastery. If you are close to monks like this, you should pay attention. If a person who becomes a monk cannot live in the sangha for many years to learn precepts and exercise, and transform his worldly temperament, it is only a matter of time. If you read some scriptures by yourself, talk to believers about the truth of Buddhist scriptures, or do something about it, you will form a bond, thinking that this is a real monk, and you can use the almshouse to lead people to practice. This is very problematic. It is very likely that he is just a monk on the outside, but his inner thoughts are still secular, so he must carefully consider whether he wants to get close.

Therefore, in order to get close to and support a monk, one must first understand his educational background, and then look at his seniority. Only if he has a certain amount of merit and virtue, he can accept a monk or a disciple. This can at least basically ensure that his learning can have a certain foundation, and not just because he has a monk appearance or good eloquence, and he is very good at greeting believers. to get close.In fact, many people don’t become ordained until later in life, and they already have considerable experience in social communication. When they shave their hair, they look a bit like an elder at first glance, but they are often very secular in their hearts, and their knowledge is still very polluted. What you say and do is only in accordance with the law of the world, which is different from the Buddhist teachings of the world. The so-called "attachment to Buddhism".Therefore, when approaching a good teacher, the first and most important thing is to observe whether he attaches great importance to the precepts. This is very important. The difference between Buddhism and outsiders lies first in the precepts. Dharma, the biggest advantage of monks over lay people is not the depth of Buddhist studies, the level of cultural knowledge, but the different standards of precepts they hold.The precepts at home range from the five precepts, the eight precepts to the bodhisattva precepts. In addition to the monk precepts, the monks must always keep the three-gathering pure precepts of the bodhisattva. These more comprehensive precept standards must be applied in daily rituals. Those who do not possess these basic precepts and prestige, but only focus on the expertise or extensive Buddhist knowledge of a certain kind of dharma assembly, or the fame and ostentation created by the media, then they should also carefully consider whether they want to be close or just follow the wedding ceremony. Respectfully.However, when observing monks, one should not make excessive comparisons or make subjective judgments, because maybe the other party will only need to open up due to a certain karma. Therefore, respect should be placed on the premise at all times. Then observe the feelings objectively, and finally decide whether or not to have a long-term intention to rely on studying the Fa.If you observe the subtleties, you must know how to sense with your heart, calm your mind, and naturally feel the magnetic field emitted by the other party.

After XNUMX days of walking in the samadhi four times and reciting the Buddha, I practiced it like a goblin without sleeping or lying down. This is not a practice that ordinary people can do. In the past, because of legal affairs, I went to the temple many times to get close to the monk. , I can always deeply feel the expression of the monk's heartfelt compassion towards others, and the magnetic field he exudes can make people feel warm and upright.His own meticulous conduct of the precepts naturally makes people feel pure and respectful towards him.There are two monasteries where the monk Qinggong is abbot, one is Yuantong Temple in Puli, and the other is Zhengjue Jingshe. The permanent residents are all monks, and there are no women living together. When we visit the monks, we can only meet in the living room. This is also the first time for me to get close to the male monks who learn the precepts. I feel that the temple is full of Taoism, and the magnetic field of the overall environment is very peaceful, which is very different from ordinary temples.

Generally speaking, if you really want to observe whether a person has practiced or not, the easiest way is to first look at the results he has made and whether it can be compared with the Fa-rectification. Correspondingly, if he can not leave the form of promoting the precepts, if he has these specific results, then no matter how deep his personal practice is, he can always do it after having a considerable amount of practice on the Tao. It is definitely a problem to talk about big truths on the skin, to talk about supernatural powers, to emphasize personal realm, to organize activities to entertain believers, but not to actually make some achievements and contributions to the teaching of precepts and scriptures.As for observing the depth of one’s cultivation and realization, it can only be sensed when one is really close to one’s side, and one has to have a considerable amount of cultivation and realization, and observe and experience it for a long time.If it is a person whose realm is higher than you, you also decide that you cannot understand his behavior and thoughts, but you can feel inexplicable peace of mind and joy around him.A practitioner who has practiced and realized must be able to emit a stable magnetic field from time to time, with soft fluctuations, so that when you are by his side for a while, all the troubles will disappear, and the delusions will naturally disappear and disappear. This is the virtue of compassionate thought. .If you feel a strong urge arises quickly after you get close to him, making you want to do something desperately for something you still don't understand the situation, then you have to be careful, the devil often has this kind of power and will It causes people to become irrational and violently excited, and then to do things that are contrary to the Tao and mistaken for diligence, such as actions such as the martyrdom of radicals for the Tao.The most important thing is that our own motivation must also be pure, and we are truly willing to practice steadfastly. In the end, it still depends on our personal sense of good roots and merits, coupled with objective and rational observation, so that we are foolproof.
