Fasting is pure, one day and one night, and it is better to be a hundred years of kindness in the country of Infinite Life." Another hidden meaning is to show that the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is pure, good and pure, without any evil karma, so the World Honored Sakyamuni exhorts us to give birth to renunciation and seek rebirth there.On the one hand, it is directly pointed out in the scriptures that the merits of practicing here for a day and a night are better than the merits of doing good for a hundred years in the Land of Ultimate Bliss.Because cultivation is difficult in the human world, once true cultivation is accomplished, the merit will naturally be greater.The Paradise of Ultimate Bliss is pure and pure, but this world is filthy and pure, so of course we have to make aspirations to survive, but since we have the predestined fate to gain a human body and the blessing of hearing the Buddhadharma in this life, if we don’t seize the current opportunity to practice hard, it will be a waste of time. This rare person.Even if the practice is very hard, as long as you grit your teeth, you can save a hundred years of practice every day and night. The abacus of the return on investment must be calculated!

Is it actually hard to practice?In my opinion, not practicing is the real hardship. Before the age of XNUMX, because I had no chance to encounter the Buddhadharma, my life was very comfortable and independent, so I followed the habit of the five desires and tasted all the pleasures of the world. In two or three years, I had committed suicide because I was completely world-weary. The reason for suicide was very funny. It wasn’t because I was stimulated for a while, but I felt that life had been boring for a long time. There is no place to settle down, very empty, and I often feel like living like a year. Even though I still have a lot of savings at that time, my appearance is young and beautiful, and I can be called a single nobleman that most people admire. The pain is still like a shadow, so I don’t understand the cause and effect at all. Under the circumstances, he easily gave up everything in this world, attempted suicide twice in a row within two weeks, and was rescued inexplicably. In this way, the pain in my heart seemed to gradually turn into numbness, and I entered a situation similar to neither suffering nor happiness. Until the karma matured and I really encountered the Buddhadharma, suddenly a light shone into my heart, like a kind of supernatural current, Immediately activated the energy of survival in my life, only then did I realize that I finally began to be interested in one thing from the bottom of my heart, and that is the matter of asking to be born in the Western Paradise, whether there is such a place or not, I want to think about it. The way to go, this kind of strong and urgent renunciation will arise, and it has a consistent relationship with my previous world-weariness. It seems that I must find an opportunity to leave this world before I am willing, but from the moment the Buddhadharma entered my life. , my quality of life has actually been gradually and silently transforming.Looking back on the XNUMX-year journey of cultivating the Tao, there were many dangers and difficulties along the way, and there were also many worries and sorrows, but I always felt cool and hopeful in my heart along the way, and I have never lost motivation and wanted to retreat. And I have been actively working towards the set goal, and I have never felt world-weary because of escaping. It is not as empty and unpleasant as the years when I was immersed in the five desires when I was young, and my heart will be inexplicable from time to time. The three poisonous emotions appear on the ground, and there is not a moment of true happiness from the heart. I feel that life is just constantly venting out the energy in my life. Push yourself to a dead end.Now I can really experience a little bit of what the Buddha said about the duality of suffering and happiness. In the happiness of the five desires, there is also hidden suffering, but there is endless happiness in the practice life that seems to be suffering. Therefore, the Buddha taught us In practice, we must take suffering as our teacher, not to let us continue to suffer, but to obtain the true happiness of inner liberation from the experience of suffering.As long as you know the correct way of practicing, the ascetic practice will also be transformed into bliss, and the practice can also be very happy and enjoyable at the same time.Now, through years of exploration, I have already found a way to practice happiness, and I can share it with those who are destined to share it here.

So how do you practice so that you can feel relaxed and happy?First of all, you must be able to serve others with a selfless heart. There is a saying in the world that every elementary school student understands: "Helping others is the foundation of happiness." Start with a day of good deeds, and truly experience the joy of helping others, and at the same time, you can accumulate blessings for yourself. Virtue, if a person is blessed, he can only have basic sustenance in his practice. The so-called "blessing to the heart", a person who is blessed will naturally be able to be spiritual, and a person who is not blessed suffers every day. , this is the necessary homework before everyone starts to practice, which is "cultivation of blessings".To cultivate blessings, you must also know how to use the right heart. If you use the wrong heart, you will not be able to cultivate blessings and even create karma, so how can you feel happy now?Buddhism teaches that we must first send out the heart of saving sentient beings. The first of the four great vows is: "Boundless vows to save sentient beings." This is the beginning of practice.Since the purpose is to save sentient beings, of course, it must be unconditional and without any return. Cultivation of blessings is just a move forward, not a goal. It is to pave the way for saving sentient beings through this help.If when you give, you still think about the reward, remember how much you have given, and see if the other party will repay you with gratitude, then this kind of heart burden will not bring you happiness, but will accumulate. more troubles.Therefore, from the beginning of cultivating blessings, we must learn to cultivate in the state of "three-wheeled body emptiness". In this way, we can not only cultivate to the true great blessing of giving away one thousand rewards, but also have immeasurable and boundless merits and virtues. At the same time, the merits and virtues are achieved. This is the method of double cultivation of blessing and wisdom.

After we have the foundational resources for this practice, we must follow the order of the three studies of precepts, concentration and wisdom, starting from keeping the precepts, to correct bad habits and even incorrect thinking patterns. This can make us mentally and physically The negative energy is transformed into positive energy, which not only helps the health of the body, but also purifies the mind and enhances the level of life.Starting from the five precepts, the eight precepts and even the bodhisattva precepts at home, the precepts for monks are more and more subtle.Keeping the precepts is the basis for entering the practice. If this root is not deeply rooted, the next stage of meditation will not be achieved. Therefore, it will take at least five years to focus on learning the discipline of keeping the precepts, and then gradually. According to the main Dharma door, achieve the merit of concentration and wisdom.In Buddhism, no matter which sect you choose, which Dharma you practice, or even the Pure Land special Dharma door other than the XNUMX-way Dharma-door, you do not deviate from the fundamental order of the three studies of "precept, concentration, and wisdom" taught in Buddhism. Xiufu" is the sustenance for going forward.No matter how fast, no matter how special, no matter how wonderful the practice, including all the methods of becoming a Buddha shared in this book, if there is no such content, then you are all practicing wrong. In the end, you will not achieve the Buddha way, but the devil way. You must not be careless. .
