In the Zhonghua Temple, the time is the same, and the time is almost a little or one-half.

So what is our perfect attendance award?Everyone knows that I’m not good at socializing and entertaining. It just happens that we are a monk, and we don’t follow the secular set of secular people. Gifts, this, and that, I don’t have anything to give, unless it’s open. Fate, you see many sentient beings nowadays, they want to open fate for monks!It is inevitable to follow the common customs to make connections with sentient beings, but I am less likely to do that, because I don’t have to do it like this, and I don’t have to open up the bonds, so I don’t have any preparations, and I want to give you some special items.
But, my perfect attendance award means eh... the value-added is very high! , You can get this full attendance award next week. If you take the first class to the present, and now the third class, no matter if you start with the second class, you can always get this full attendance award after you come. So why do you want to talk about this one? In fact, we are talking about this class on Sunday. Our headline is Buddhism etiquette, life precepts, it seems to be a basic course, in fact it is the most practical, and everyone If you have to make up the lesson, in fact, you already have a very good foundation in Buddhism, and maybe you will ignore this part.
For example, if I take an exam now, we should all be familiar with the Confucian disciple rules! In Confucianism, there is a sentence in the disciple rules: "If you come out, you must confess to the opposite, right?"Did I make a mistake? You should have heard of this. Have you done it?Is there, no!Because there is no one at home, even if there are people, you are not used to it. You have not developed this habit, right!
So we, in the past few years, look at the old monk Jingkong, he has been vigorously advocating it, what about this, you said that no one at home knows it’s okay, that’s going out, are you a disciple of the Buddha?These rituals are very important to show, because people in society actually have a higher standard for Buddha disciples. If you put up a sign, you are a Buddha disciple. Your friends, relatives, and colleagues will know that you are a Buddha disciple. Yes, his subconscious standard for you, your personality standard will be higher.
To people, it's like saying you are to monks, right?Eh!How can this master be like this, how can this master be like this, it’s not possible, in fact, he just made small mistakes, and you will think! How the monks are like this, you will naturally think that the monks should be very It’s not bad. It seems that most people make mistakes. You think it’s okay. Anyway, everyone makes mistakes, and it’s a big deal when a monk makes a mistake.
(XNUMX) The expectations of the public for Buddhist disciples
Similarly, people in the community have higher expectations of us Buddha disciples. This is a common phenomenon. Let me give you an example. A cousin of mine is really kind...very kind. He can only sleep twice a day. For three hours, for several years, I just took care of the family and supported the family to do two jobs, and he didn't complain, was a very hardworking person, and then he was very simple and innocent in his home country.
But his only thing is very strange. He has the only karma and it is the heaviest. He likes to kill. As soon as you hear it! He is so kind and why he likes to kill. He knows that he sees mistakes. He doesn't use a knife to kill or kill. He likes to go fishing by the sea, and his fishing skills are very good. He still uses fishing, but he still doesn’t use enough fishing. The fishing nets in his hands often yield good harvests, and then he will send them to neighbors after eating. generous.
His idea is that this thing was originally eaten by others, and then he said that the shrimp didn't see blood, ha... he couldn't feel it, and there was nothing we could do to persuade him, so he didn't take refuge, and he was ashamed of himself. The family can’t save, there’s no way, but he has a very kind heart, so how can I persuade him, he doesn’t take refuge, he said it’s better if I don’t do bad things, but the improvement has been made in the past few years, and after a long time, he will still suffer. If you are affected, you will be less dare to create this killing karma, because you really will, and there will be lessons. In the end, you have to be afraid, so you will still adjust.
A person like this has not taken refuge yet, and he feels that, basically, his personality is pretty good, so he will think that I don’t have to take refuge either!Because I am not worse than Buddha's disciples!Once, he was accidentally driving while driving. His car was hit by a collision. It was not a serious car accident. What if he got out of the car?He saw him and hit his car with Buddha statues, and Tie Nanwu Amitabha.
He thought in his heart, this is a disciple of the Buddha, because I am his cousin, I am a monk, he still respects the monk, or a disciple of the Three Treasures, although he himself did not take refuge, because the karma of killing is too heavy, let him There is no way to arouse this heart, but he will still respect it, even though he thinks in his heart, okay, buddha disciple, don’t worry about him later, he’s very generous, maybe the collision may have to be touched up, and it may be possible to do something. It costs a lot of money, and even a few thousand Taiwan dollars can't get away, so he just wants not to care about him.
As a result, when the other party gets out of the car, he may be afraid because he knows that he is at a loss. He may be afraid to say that he will lose money later. The wicked person will file a complaint first. If he is fierce, he will tell my cousin. Brake, if you don't brake, I won't rush over like this, just crackling, wow!My cousin didn’t want to take refuge anymore. He felt that the predestined relationship was not so deep. Then he encountered that kind of situation and made him more justified and said, "Why should I take refuge? You buddha disciple too." Nothing is really better.
He came to complain to me about this matter, so you see, since we are listed Buddha disciples, at least you have to understand the whole Buddha and the image of our Three Jewels. We have this responsibility. Of course, you smashed the sign, even This is not your own personal problem. If our image is relatively good, you will also have merit. Indirectly, you will save sentient beings, right?So this part is actually, we are really urgent to learn. A person who accidentally knows that you are a buddha disciple has higher expectations of you in his heart, but what you did was worse than usual.
(XNUMX) Minimum social image standards for Buddhist disciples
I have beaten the minds of others and those who entered Buddhism. This karma is really serious, and the sin karma is really heavy. So we can say that since you are a Buddhist disciple, you have to learn. If you don’t, you just have to improve. We It should be better than ordinary people in the world. That’s great. We’re going to talk about this standard now. Generally speaking, the lowest social image standard for Buddha disciples is the five precepts. The five precepts are your next life. The reason for being elevated to humanity.
But the five precepts are not enough. Why is it that most people have higher expectations of Buddhist disciples? The five precepts do not kill and commit adultery. This is just a normal person. Look at the disciples of Confucianism, benevolence, justice, etiquette, wisdom and trust, this is also the lowest standard. So what we are going to talk about today is...We should set this standard in the five precepts and ten virtues. The ten virtues are the standard for ascension to heaven. If you hold the ten virtues well, you can go to heaven to enjoy the blessings in your next life.
However, we have to set the standard a little bit higher, and set your standard to the highest level. At least we can achieve the medium level. You can’t achieve it completely. We have to set this standard and work hard from this standard. That’s okay. Let us mention this diligence, don't think, oh, anyway, I just kill the thief and don't do it. This is very passive.
Because the five precepts are just to stop evil, if you have the ten virtues, we must go further to cultivate goodness. If you cultivate goodness, on the one hand, you can accumulate our true merit.On the one hand, it can meet the expectations of the public. He thinks that it’s true... Buddhist disciples are very kind, he will help others, form good karma, and in fact we can really accumulate real blessings, so we have to take this Set the standard here, and then do it in life.
Do it outside, and do it at home. In fact, this is more important at home. For the people around us, we have to make up for this part, and don’t go outside... The image outside is very good. , Wow this fierce at home, and then I don’t understand this basic etiquette,
(XNUMX) It's not necessarily a good thing to get a big reward
I found out that it was only last week since I came to Canada this time, but I found out that our fellow practitioners here really have good roots. This kind roots means kindness, which means that this kind of person is a quality of this kind of person. Born to be a subterranean person, there are people like this if you haven’t touched them. It’s impossible for you to ask him to learn Buddhism. He likes the feeling of doing evil. He enjoys it. That’s really so-called. Bad embryos and weak roots of goodness, so the fellow practitioners here have very good roots in comparison, but the roots of goodness are the essence and are hidden, but they haven't been brought into full play.
why?We were hurt by blessings. We were just on the road, and we were still talking about this matter on the way, because people who emigrate here are basically living well. Especially I just asked, after two thousand years, For immigrants, most of the level of education and income have been greatly improved in all aspects. They are all very blessed people. Then you are blessed, and you don’t have the foundation for studying Buddhism. Talk about basic ethics.
The cultivation of morality has always been a fault in the past few decades. Family education does not pay attention to these morals and etiquette, so many people are lacking, including you have become a big boss, and you are a PhD or master. They are all lacking, so when your reward is great, it is very difficult for you to repair this one again, and even others dare not teach you, because of you, we are used to enjoying the blessings.
When someone teaches you, if you talk softly to you, you won’t listen. Oh, you have to be good, you have to do it, you can’t do this, you have to behave yourself, go home You have to greet you, be polite, and then you have to talk about it when you go out. We just gave an example. This is the most basic and you have to meet every day. If you want to go out, you have to do it every day. When you go out, you have to come back every day. This is what you have to do every day.
Just ask you to adjust this habit, can you get it in your figure?Or can you turn this habit around?Or are you willing to adjust?This is all a problem!The greater your reward, the more difficult it is to practice, so actually!Relatively speaking, although we have good roots, we have very good qualities, but because we lack a foundation in this aspect, there is no such education before, so when you get a big reward, you have to make up this one more than the average person. difficult.
This is how I feel in the past three weeks, so when I lecture to you, I'm cautious, can't you? , I used to do this too? ?The lectures are also famous and fierce masters, but everyone tunes them obediently, oops, and progress is very fast, so here I want to say randomly, it’s bad... I have to coax you, oops, you want , You think it’s amazing if you can come, right? ?In order to scold me, everyone ran away, and there were really only two photographers and I. That would be troublesome.
But, I just want to remind everyone that we need to be vigilant. This blessing is really terrible and it will harm us. Why?If you don’t want to learn it yourself, you won’t dare to teach when you come to others. In the end, your troubles will become more and more serious. Then I can deeply understand why the Bodhisattva and the Great Bodhisattva are very blessed. We practice. The longer we are, whether we are a monk or a monk, the longer we practice, the greater the blessings will surely grow.
Normally, unless you have not practiced, but this bodhisattva, the greater the reward, the less blessed he will be. These three weeks have made me understand this more deeply. Of course we understand that we know that bodhisattvas do not enjoy blessings. He has been giving up blessings, just like we eat two meals a day, and if you give me more, I can’t eat much. There is a precept to protect us. Don’t indulge in this blessing, because you are blessed. It's getting bigger and bigger, everyone supports it.
Whatever you want, but if we accept it all, we will waste our studies, and then we don’t know how to practice more diligently and discipline ourselves more, so we really have to stay away from blessings, and we have to be alert and blessed. Please don’t enjoy it. For example, there is a very famous Wang Yongqing in Taiwan, you know?Wang Yongqing, don’t you know?Forget it because you come from the mainland, many of them are from the mainland, don't blame you, he is an internationally famous rich man!There are international rankings that are all on the top. I don’t know where I am, because I don’t care about the news either.
He has worked hard since he was a child and started from scratch. He is the founder of the enterprise kingdom and is among the best in Taiwan. But his life is really like a big bodhisattva showing up. I just told our guardians on the road. I said that young people like us live more luxuriously than him. People are so rich. Of course, the house, servants and villas in the family have everything, but he eats simple, rough tea and light meals, and maybe only the few sets of clothes, similar to my monks.
It’s not that he can’t afford it, but he just keeps this habit, because he started from scratch, and he has developed this good habit. Unlike our modern people, who didn’t teach this at home, what taught you is a kind of pampering. It’s just your life habits!So do you have to make up this lesson? It is very hard to make up this lesson. You have already indulged in the habit!So this, this kind of troubles and pains will actually accumulate all the time. Everyone must be alert, our fellow practitioners here.
Because generally speaking, it's pretty good. Even if you are not a rich person, you are used to life leisurely, right?So whether this is a good thing is not a good thing for our practice.
(XNUMX) The standard of ten good karma
it is good!Then, let’s talk about the ten good karma, the standard of the ten good karma. When we go back, we will... just often want to encourage ourselves, start from here, of course take the precepts, the bodhisattva precepts are more specific Teach us how to do it one by one, but the ten good karma is a basic course that our disciples at home must learn and then implement it in our daily lives. We have to mention it here because of the limited time.
The ten good karma is divided into three parts: body, mouth, and mind. The body means neither killing nor stealing, neither killing nor stealing nor licentious. This is the same as the part of the Five Precepts. In the five precepts, there is only nonsense, but we can expand it here and explain it in more detail. This is the part of the anti-evil. In fact, you don’t kill, steal, you don’t steal, you don’t have evil, you don’t lie. When you don't do these evil things, you are actually doing good.
You have a very good image, people say, eh!This person can't kill, he won't steal your things, he won't have an affair, a gentleman, is that a good image, and then, this person won't bother and talk about other people. Right or wrong, so you can rest assured to make friends with him, he will not betray you, and then he will not swear, he will not swear, he will not speak swear words like this, and he will not speak some good words, which means he will not speak some good words. If you are obedient to lie to you, he can't actually do it. Marry me and I will give you a house.
Then it’s like that. It’s very nice, and then I say you’re so beautiful, I only love you, and it turns out, hahaha, this is a beautiful language, don’t believe it, it’s impossible, he thinks that person as soon as he turns his head. It’s also very beautiful and human, but a Buddha disciple can’t do this. You can’t say that I’m joking. It’s okay. Everyone is like this. Everyone is like this. It’s just that we Buddha disciples can’t be like this, because we Buddha disciples have a social image standard. , So in fact, not only the five precepts and ten virtues must be taken care of.
(XNUMX) Greed, anger, ignorance and ignorance are the most important fundamental trouble
There is also no greed, anger, or ignorance. This is from the mind. Greed, anger, ignorance and ignorance are the heaviest fundamental troubles. All the evil laws start from our thoughts!This greed, anger, ignorance, these three worries, so we... I have emphasized in the CD that I circulated before. I talked about some of the teachings in the master Yinguang's notes. I also emphasized that we should always remind ourselves every day not to be greedy or anger. Foolish.
We do evil because we are greedy. I think I don’t have enough money. I’m greedy, right? If I want to be greedy for more money, then you will do whatever it takes, right?At the beginning, there were many, many plans, that is, you have greed, so where do we start to stop evil and cultivate goodness?From breaking greed, anger, ignorance, and ignorance, breaking is impossible. We grasp this core and do anything we first think about whether I have it, and whether I have greed now.Did I do this because I wanted to do it because of greed?
There is also anger, neither anger nor ignorance, this one, everyone...this is a fundamental, then all our studies, including all the precepts, are actually assisting this fundamental trouble, and these ten precepts are also considered as ten precepts. , The ten good karma is also the ten precepts. We have to memorize it and do it every day. Believe you, some fellow practitioners seem to be the classics and have read a lot. For this standard of the ten good karma, you, It is definitely not unfamiliar.
But if you go to reflect on it, after we listen to it now, we are going to do it, and then we have to reflect on it. Are we really doing it?You will find that there is really no, really no!Well, if you don’t have this basic word, it’s like a disciple rule. In fact, it’s all started from this place. You look at it one by one, and none of you can do it. Because we are not used to it, we didn’t take this course.
Parents don’t ask you to do this at home, but we have to do it from here first, to make it, this standard, this image is made, someone will doze off! I gave him permission, he drove with us, I said that you freeze Wei Tiao, so you should go to sleep quickly. Where did I talk about the ten good karma, anyway, this thing seems very simple, and most people ignore it, but in fact, this is the most important thing in our practice. In important places, we can't stay high.
If you don’t have this foundation, what you do is only superficial. No matter how well you learn it, it’s useless even if you can speak on stage. People won’t persuade you, they won’t persuade you, it must be yours. In life, with every word and deed, you have to do this etiquette, and the ten good karma shows, and you count as much as you do!At least you are working hard, then this is called, this is called cultivation, and it starts from here.
It's not that you will be asked to fly into the sky and practice meditation. That's called a very high level of kung fu, it's called diligent practice, no!You must start from here. Now some people can’t even find a stage of this practice, even the five precepts and ten virtues.There is no foundation, and then they want to become a monk. There are some people who are like this. I don't mean you haha... This Diana may have asked for someone else, and he asked me what standards are for a monk.
(XNUMX) The real situation of becoming a monk
A lot of fellow practitioners would come to ask, I was in Singapore before, because I have been a monk for more than ten years, and along the way, as soon as I became a novice, someone wanted to be my apprentice. An XNUMX-year-old girl was in Beijing. I was preaching in Beijing, and over XNUMX people listened to the one that was so crowded that Daxiong Palace was so full, and then she treated me as an idol. She was just a monk at that time, and then she was XNUMX years old and very self-willed. She said I want to talk to you. To become a monk, I said no, and then she said, no matter if I must be a monk with you, just like that, tell me no matter what.
I said this, then wait for me, let me go back and ask my master to see and make jokes with her, because I have just become a monk, so I have come across many examples for more than ten years. I was scared to death. One was in Singapore. She was a female group who immigrated to Singapore after listening to the scriptures. After listening to the scriptures, she just took a bus with us back. She asked me in the car and she told me , Master, I really want to become a monk, can I?I said why you want to become a monk, because she is not too young, she should be there at the age of XNUMX or XNUMX. I asked you why you want to become a monk. She said that she is now taking care of her mother-in-law, she is not divorced, and she still has a family. Taking care of her mother-in-law is very tired, oh, her mother-in-law is eighty-nine years old, and then she is not easy to get along with, she said she can't stand it and is annoying, she wants to become a monk, see you are very quiet...
I said, please do not become a monk, ha... I poured cold water on her on the spot, (why), and then I deliberately coaxed her. Of course, what I said was the truth. I said you must never become a monk. Our Sangha has a big head, trouble, I said, oh, you must not become a monk. After you become a monk, the work you do will be harder than you are now, and the workload will be at least twice as much. I said ten million. , Otherwise you will regret it and scare her if you really become a monk.
But it is indeed the wording. Don’t really read it. Some people don’t know. They just want to become a monk anyway. Now there is a shortage of people in many places in the dojo. The dojo does not teach you the law anyway. Just to repair your blessing. If you want to come and then you want to shave, I will shave with you. We are short of people here, we are short of people to cook and clean, and then we will do it, so you have to come and do whatever you want, and he will also give it to you when you are several decades old Shaved, anyway, the older you are, it’s not bad. Shaving is like old practice. Oh, the masters here are very good at practicing.
He doesn’t teach you the Dharma either, so it seems that sometimes people think that it’s very simple and easy to become a monk, and then they seem to live a very good life. Anyway, everyone supports them and lives well. In fact, this is not right, although Many people seem to have this kind of phenomenon in front of us, in the Dharma Ending Period, but in fact, everyone who is a true monk needs to be clear. I will now talk about the criteria for a monk by the way. What I just talked about is the most basic.
The image standard of Buddha disciples in our society is at home. Now when we talk about monkhood, real monkhood is really the first five years. The precepts come.Let’s talk about it for five years for men and six years for women. We have to learn the precepts, and then we have to serve the teachers, cultivate blessings and eliminate karma. If you become a monk with me, I don’t accept disciples, and I don’t accept disciples from a monk. Anyone can listen to my lectures and sayings. I accept a few disciples at home, and I accept some. Because I myself know that we need a lot of quiet space and time to teach and teach the Dharma, and we can’t be too distracted. It’s really not easy to teach an apprentice. Just like you have a child, you have to grow him up and pay it back. If you want to marry him and have children, why do you have to do it, it’s endless, the apprentices are the same, his apprentices, after you train him, he goes again, accepts apprentices, and has apprentices. But because this year, I relied on lawyer Guoqing, so many of our precepts I didn’t uphold. Let’s open the fate, because for example, if I walk alone, I will do it by myself. Women can’t go out alone, but because there’s no way, many people now have predestined conditions. It’s not just me, but this is not good, but it can be repented. Many of our precepts do not have predestined predecessors at the moment. worry.
There is no pressure. You should try to hold some precepts as much as possible. If it is too late, we will repent, and then we will hold them as good as possible. But I still have a job. It’s just a happy life.
We just give up according to the standard of precepts. Don’t we give money and give money?Then you have to do it, right?After I did it, because most people didn’t do it because they were worried about life, then I didn’t worry about it. I always wanted to say that I was going to die. Slowly, but there is still work, but naturally the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas arranged for us.
It just so happened that we were going to be a monk, and we should not touch money. Then at that time, when I was going to be a monk, the master called me a monk, and the master took the initiative to call me a monk. Yes, because the master told me to shave after three days. I just met, it was caused by the residents inside, and then I will shave after three days. My friend stopped it, because he wanted to chase me. , Ha... stop me saying, eh, I heard that people who become monks have to save a sum of money, do you want to wait for a while, and then I ask Master if you want to save money? Master said no, we just need to keep the precepts when we become monks. You can't touch the money, oh... so, then you will be a monk, and shaved after three days, and shaved stupidly.

Then she said she wanted to leave everything, oh because she also learned this method on the Internet, and wanted to die. This world is okay. Through the day, she did feel the suffering in the world.
Many people’s response to the Pure Land Method is true. This is true. Because it’s really bitter, they really want to recite the Buddha and seek rebirth, but you and seek rebirth are two different things than you become a monk. You are the one who becomes a monk. Now that we have to undertake the family business of the Tathagata, it is difficult to do it, it is unbearable and tolerable, not to say that it is just like you can escape this way, escape to the bliss world, it is not like this, you have to be more big-hearted than ordinary people, Then the precepts must be more strict.

Then she will be a volunteer. She has been a volunteer in her permanent residence for two or three years. Because she hasn't been a volunteer, and she wants to become a monk quickly, so I said that she will live first, but she has a big heart, which is also a kind of Cultivating blessings, if we cultivate blessings, we mean internal finances and foreign finances. Foreign finances means donating money. Internal finances means doing volunteer work for two or three years. This is usually the case. In her case, if she wants to give up, then I will do it. Said that this may not necessarily be a monk.
Many people are rich, and they build a temple to live in it. You say that this counts as a monk or not. If your master shaved you off, he is guilty, isn't it?You still have to follow the rules. You have to be truly Taoist. This is the most important thing. After I observed it for a week, I said no, please don’t become a monk or go to other places to become a monk. I am not obstructing you to become a monk. I said that you can make a vow, and then if you really want to become a monk, you can also. You can find a place where you practice asceticism. As long as you can stay down, you can eliminate your karma and cultivate your Taoism.
But generally speaking, you can’t afford to eat and live. The key is that you must have Dao-mindedness. You can know why you become a monk. There is a saying in a monk that it’s something that a general can’t do, even a general can’t do it. That’s why it’s called a big man. This is the normal standard. Don’t compare it with those feelings. So if we are at home, I say, I’ll persuade her to say no, I say I don’t. Accepting donations, I also don't accept her donations, because we are fulfilling her intentions and blessings.
She also knows that she also wants to say that if the money is used in the layman or the world, it is better to cultivate blessings in the Three Treasures. This blessing is even greater. She has such an idea, and it is correct, then But I think her mentality is wrong, so why I will observe for a week I know it is not good, because her concept is that maybe she is also intentional or unintentional. If she doesn't know this, we can't be very sure.
But that is to say, they will think, ah, despite millions of dollars, in fact a woman, if you say that you don’t have the ability to work, or that you don’t have a lot of wisdom to take on, and the personality is relatively weak, in fact, he doesn’t have any. A sense of security, like if you have a house, would you think it is enough?Have you had peace of mind for the rest of your life? Isn't it right? Or do you think it's not enough, right?Make more money, right!Let me tell you that a truly capable person, a person with a Taoist heart, does not have money, and he is not afraid.
If you have a lack of personality in your heart, a lack of cowardice in your personality, etc., if you know that all aspects are lacking, no matter how much money is given to you today, you still have no sense of security, then the sense of insecurity is Normally, the wealth is shared by the five families. Maybe something happens all at once. It is really easy to feel insecure, but if you are a capable person, you are not afraid, it doesn't matter.
We don’t live by money, but ordinary people think this is the most important thing, so she just has no sense of security, oh no sense of security, then she wants to become a monk, find a place to rely on for the rest of her life, because she doesn’t want to get married. Well, she thinks men are unreliable, and indeed men are unreliable, right?The master is more reliable. She depends on the master. I said that I am not your nanny. She can't even wash the bowl. I know her level in a week.
The dishes are not clean, and we dare not eat the dishes you wash. I have to do it again after she has done it. I taught it again and then can’t do it well.It takes twice as much effort to do it again. Some people teach it once. It’s okay to teach it twice. It’s okay to do it three times. You always want to know it, but some people don’t know how to do it three times. If you don't have this habit, you're used to being lazy. If you really become a monk, the standard is much worse than at home. So if you have the ability to live in the Sangha for more than five years, this person won't be too bad, so don't think about him.
(XNUMX) Buddhism is to rely on the vast number of sentient beings
Don’t have such a high standard. Oh, how could this master cultivate so badly, and would curse others and what would happen again? That’s a habit. You have the ability to have some foundations in life like him, and can do well. You will be good for more than five years. It’s because every day you exercise in the Sangha, the rules and etiquette of life must be implemented in the Sangha. If you have the ability to live, you will naturally learn it. No matter how stupid it is, it won’t be bad. At least you Will do it.
That’s why this standard is different. When I see her, it’s too late to learn. I said you can make a wish, but it’s true, because if you don’t understand the truth, then you can rely on your own Imagine that when I became a monk, I had to rely on it, and then I would have peace of mind for the rest of my life, because Buddhism gives people the feeling that it is very stable. It will not just abandon you, say divorce and get divorced. , There is a certain standard of ethics.
But you can’t come to find such a sustenance because you want to be a monk inside, you have to take this responsibility, you have to take care of sentient beings, and your work and your responsibilities are doubled. You have to figure this out. , Don't..., yes, the Three Treasures are to rely on sentient beings. However, the monks are not for you personally, for you, this Sangha, Buddhism does not rely on you personally, and if you do not personally rely on the vast number of sentient beings.
Therefore, he will not take care of you alone. On the contrary, since we have already upgraded and become monks, you have to take responsibility for this standard, like the oldest and youngest in the family, right? The older you are, the more senior you are. The bigger you are, the more responsibilities you have to bear. The same thing is true, so we have to look at our own motivation. Of course, the bigger the motivation, the better, but we need to look at our abilities, and we have to be steadfast. Do it,
Otherwise, even if you meet a confused master, oh well you have to donate XNUMX million so you can shave immediately. After shaved, you will regret the miserable Master also regret it. Generally speaking, it is not a good thing, because the greater your blessing becomes, the greater your obstacles to practice, the more your troubles will be there, and they will become more and more serious.
On the contrary, you can see that the family standard is very high, but in fact its Dharma joy will be greater, its troubles will be lessened, and it will be more and more relieved. Then his blessings will be greater and greater, but he will not use it, and then Tossing away, so a woman, you say you have to feel safe, in fact, it is best to be a monk to be truly blessed and repay your time, because the blessing of monks is getting bigger and bigger every year, the older you are, the higher your worth, it seems It’s different in the world. When you’re old, go for a plastic surgery or you won’t be worth it, right!
This is generally the case, because it depends on the external minister. In fact, it is not necessarily. If we really have the connotation, we don’t need to worry. But generally speaking, this is the case. Then one comment in society is that the older your women are, the older you are. , You can only watch your grandson at home, and her social value will be lower if you look at her grandson in a down-to-earth manner.
(XNUMX) The Sangha obeys elders and children
But the monks are different. The older you are, no matter how stupid you are, you have been in the sangha for a long time. Our sangha is getting higher and higher than our sangha, even if you go to other places. The Sangha of Sangha goes to place an order. If his dojo is compliant with the law, then everyone will abide by the precepts of the Buddha. My precepts are relatively high. And then it can be true, why because of the Sangha you stay for a long time, even if you are stupid, your accumulated habits will be transformed more thoroughly, and then in the current world, there is no ethics and norms everywhere, so you There is no guarantee at home. Even though you have a higher seniority level, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the younger generation will dump you, right. He may not take care of you. The Sangha is different. The Sangha is protected.
This noble and inferior, elder and inferior, generally speaking, we now have a lot of dojos for learning precepts. Although there are many dojos for holding precepts, if you have the heart of Tao, you will meet the dojos of real practice. There are still a lot of really good masters. Then these are all the same. Look at our lawyer Guoqing, he is strict in precepts. When we visited his dojo, his monks looked very good. Quiet, very diligent, all men, men dojo.
They are very diligent and do the way. At first glance, they are very well-behaved and polite to the elders. These have formed a habit, even if your xinxing has not been transformed, you, because of the norms of the precepts, so you have to live for five years, we The first stage is five years for men, six years for women, and one more year for women. They learn the precepts and then transform their minds and bodies. After that, we begin to allow the study of the classics. Our precepts have regulations, education A person is such a stage.

So there is a standard for being a monk at home, and there is a standard for being a monk at home. At home is the five precepts and ten virtues. Then you can do it now. At the beginning, everyone’s habits are masters. Everyone has a habit. Everyone has a doctor’s or a master’s degree, and some are administrators. The housewife’s, everyone has it.
At the beginning, it’s tough and hard to change. Everyone is the same, and I have talked back. Then every one is repaired, and every one is scented. Oh, otherwise I won’t teach, because there’s no way to teach, so I It’s very tough. I didn’t make concessions, but they quickly turned around because they didn’t have Dao Xin and he would leave. Fortunately, these people are really interested, because I have already observed that there are eight months of preview before this class. Some one or two, he is equivalent to saying that it became the cow herding class outside. It was a little easier and didn’t leave. When this started, the mentality of your mind became soft, so we don’t care about studying the Fa. It’s the same as a monk at home. We must first adjust this heart. I am willing to be taught. Just say that you have to be willing to be trained, and you have prepared this mind, then you will not suffer pain when someone corrects you, you will feel very grateful that they all have to be grateful, they teach you, you have the opportunity to change, you must first This mentality is adjusted to this, instead of saying that people will bounce back as soon as they tell you. Why are you making trouble for me? What's wrong with me!Whatever I do, I can’t do this, because I’ve never been used to being told by others, and when you’re not ready for this mentality, how can you cultivate? There’s no way to cultivate.
The so-called practice is to correct our habitual problems, so if everyone has habitual problems, oh so if this mentality is not adjusted well, it can’t even talk about cultivation at all, then it’s okay if you are at home and no one will tell you about it. In other words, people see you, your parents see you telling it is useless, and he doesn't tell you anymore. I'm afraid that the relationship might not be good after a while. It's different in the Sangha. If you don't obey, it won't work. Then you will It will be very painful, really you will not be able to stay for a day.

If you have adjusted your basic living habits, the five precepts and ten virtues are almost the same. Normally, you have a little foundation. Oh, the heart can make a wish first. Habits won’t change in ten or twenty years. If he doesn’t want to change, then you will never make progress, and your troubles will get heavier. It’s too late for you to hold the Buddha's feet temporarily, so you really want to become a monk, what do you want, while you are young, so is the Blessed One. There are two ways of saying that one is a monk at the age of nineteen and the other is a monk at the age of twenty-nine. After thirty, thirty or forty, unless your degree at home is also very good, and the basic training is also good, otherwise you will be very hard to become a monk.

If you accept this, if you ask, the more precepts you receive, the faster you will make progress relative to us. Therefore, people who are willing to practice will of course want to take precepts. There is a chance to ask for precepts as much as possible, and then gradually improve one by one. Well, no one can achieve Consummation quickly, when will it be Consummation?Only when you become a Buddha can you achieve Consummation, even if the five precepts are the same, you say you receive the five precepts, and you wait until my five precepts are better before you receive other precepts.

Yes, then I have to learn it. If I learn, most people want to say that I read the scriptures by myself. When I read the scriptures by myself, we just talked about the standard of a monk. Oh, the standard of a monk, it probably also contains it. Cover at home.In other words, in the first few years, you must learn the precepts, precepts, concentration and wisdom. You are allowed to learn the scriptures in the second stage. Only then can your virtue and your rules have a foundation. Later, you will learn the precepts and learn this scripture. When you teach, you won't become evil ideas.
You only understand the truth, but you have no morals, your living habits are very bad, this cultivation is very bad, you have no rules, and your mind is not very righteous. This is very troublesome, so this ordination is actually for everyone. After you have received the three refuges, you have to take it. It's like saying eh... this person is very eye-catching. I want to marry her home. If I marry home, I will get married. There is a marriage certificate and a ceremony, which means that I have a vow. I decide that I will treat you in this life. Be responsible, and then I really want to do it, I want to be your husband, and I want to be your wife, right!Then there is something behind this kind of ceremony, one is a promise, the other is a vow, it has the spiritual meaning in it, right!
Now young people don’t want to be responsible. Oh, cohabitation is fine. No rituals, no certificates. In fact, the meaning is almost the same, that is to say, you, in fact, I also want to practice. I don’t want to take precepts. Then you just don’t have a vow. There is no promise, no specific norm. Oh, people nowadays don't like to be restrained. They feel that it is a kind of restraint. It seems that taking precepts is restraining oneself. In fact, relative to your heart, you just don't make a wish, and you don't want to be subject to this norm.
In fact, this is really necessary. It is only after you receive the precepts. Asking to take the precepts means that you have the determination to practice. I have to work hard and practice the precepts step by step. This is a vow, a promise, and a specific action. To do it, you don’t say it with your mouth, you say with your mouth that I want to be nice to you, and I will take care of you for a lifetime, but I don’t have to pay anything. Oh, this is empty talk, so the practice must be the beginning of the ordination.
This is a true expression of sincerity and determination. Behind it is the spirit of making aspirations. As long as you have that aspiration, you will be able to cure your karma troubles in the future. Samantabhadra says that only aspiration can resist karma. , Because our karma is too strong, we are greedy, anger, ignorance and suspicion. Oh, this is the five basic defilements that are too strong. You really don’t know if you don’t practice. Anyway, you will always be so bad. You don’t know, the more you The more you find it difficult to practice.
I used to be so heavy about greed, anger, ignorance, and ignorance. You don’t think you can tell you to not eat one meal for dinner. The simplest thing is, if you don’t eat after lunch, you dare not make a wish, dare not, what will happen if you don’t eat one meal, in fact, it’s not. What will happen, it will be better, but if you don’t understand, you will scare yourself and you are not willing to change, because we are accustomed to eating and eating a lot, for pleasure, so many of them are sick after eating. You know it, you know it, but you still eat it, right? This is karma.
We living beings are very pitiful. We are all led by karma. We can’t be the master ourselves. It’s really pitiful. Karma is dominating us, so we must be husbands to dominate karma, and we must come to dominate our destiny. You are a comfortable person. A practitioner is really comfortable. He can dominate everything. He is really greater than a president or a king. He can dominate himself. If he can dominate, you can dominate the outside world. Really That's it.

After receiving the Bodhisattva ordination, oh, after receiving it, whether you want to eat vegan or not is free, all free, but the six days of fasting, because we take the Bodhisattva ordination, there are six days in a month. You must take the six days of fasting. Eight pass fasts, eight pass fasts can’t, and you can’t eat them at night. It’s only six days a month. It’s training you to quit this evening meal slowly, like we must abstain as soon as we become a monk. , We can’t eat every day, this is the most basic to us.
Then, the days when you received the ordination and the days when you received the Bodhisattva ordination. As far as I know, the day of the ordination is certain. Then the process of the bodhisattva vows, there is another way. We will give you eight fasts. We don’t eat it at night, but there is a non-food pulp that can give you something to drink. Like non-food pulp, if you are at home, you can also You can prepare honey, fruit juice, but no scum, no fiber, soy milk and milk are not allowed. This is a food. If you eat food, you don’t have to eat it after lunch.
But if it is fruit juice, such as orange juice, the whole residue is not just juice. It can be used as a beverage. When adding water, it is not syrup. There is no sugar water or even the rice is not boiled. Don’t cook the rice. It breaks into thick porridge and it becomes food, but this is very troublesome. Generally, we rarely eat this one. Almost none. Drink water or drink the syrup, honey syrup or ginger tea. These have no residue. of.
But you don’t want to beat the juice. Break it into pieces. It doesn’t count. It’s also a lot of nutrition. In fact, we don’t have to worry about insufficient nutrition. When the Blessed One was alive, the disciples at that time were just eating one day. We eat now. Two meals are too many, because you, our calories are consumed in delusions, XNUMX%, our old monk like this analogy, XNUMX% are consumed in delusions.
So when we eat one less meal, in fact, we will also have less delusions. We will say that precepts are taken. Every time you take a precept, you will feel a sense of liberation. It is really like this. You will know when you do it. .If you eat one less meal, you will feel very relaxed and feel better. If you don’t believe that you are full of food, then it’s so annoying, why the stomach is so up, and you want to sleep groggy, right, you seem to enjoy eating, In fact, it is very uncomfortable for myself.
If you don’t eat it, you will suddenly become uncomfortable. That’s because you think that if you don’t eat it, your stomach will be hungry, so why don’t you look at it from another angle? If I don’t eat, it’s easy to worship Buddha. When you go down, your stomach will not be pressed, it will be very light and safe, and then you will have more time to work hard. Well, you only take a few days occasionally. In fact, there are methods for this. You will find it easy, and then you will quickly get used to not eating for lunch. You would want to say, oh, it’s better for me to cook one less meal now, don’t you, yes, then if you really want to eat something with your mouth, I just drink a little non-meal pulp, it’s okay, your mouth can still cheat it, there is that It’s a sense of satisfaction, so you won’t have any unpleasant things. Stomach problems can be cured, but we don’t think it’s okay. I have stomachaches and I can’t stop eating, right? On the contrary, this is all wrong. We people, if you don't give up when encountering difficulties, and you want to break through, you will naturally have that inspiration. Oh, yes, what method can I think of to make him acceptable.
It’s not that you want a way to make him noisy or fall out, so don’t think about it. It’s not easy. Find a way to make him happy to accept it. Although it’s not easy, it’s definitely not easy, but try your best. There will be progress gradually, but some people are really difficult, very difficult, then you have to choose, whether you are immature, you have to choose, what is most important to you, there must be something Lost, this world is like this.

When we take the precepts, because this problem is more serious, because in terms of couples, everything is easy to discuss, and we can’t say nothing, so we try our best. That’s why the Buddha took precepts. In a family’s life situation, He only made six days. He didn’t say twenty days or longer. Thirty-nine miles is required. It’s not like that. It’s about one day round trip. In principle, if you see one day, you have to fly here from Taiwan and return in more than twelve hours. That is to say, as much as possible, as much as possible, that, and a place, which is also a pure land, and there are several dojos, then do you go to this, as if you didn’t go to others. You have to be like breaking the precepts, not so serious.
It’s enough for us to grasp the spirit. We should do as much as possible. We should try our best. It doesn’t matter if we can’t do it. The precepts are lively and lively. It helps us because of the restraint. After this precept, I knew that we should do this, right? I don’t seem to think that the teachings have nothing to do with us, eh, we are Buddhist disciples, how could it have nothing to do with me, right?
We know what obligations and rights we have as lay Buddhist disciples. This is also a power, right? If you participate, you will get benefits yourself. You can continue to grow blessed wisdom. Then we have the precepts and the learning. It’s just that these methods can help us grow our blessings and wisdom. Then we can do as much as we can. Some of the things we can’t do can have repentance and shame, and then try our best to do it well one by one. Do it well.
So after you have a correct mentality, you will definitely be happy to receive ordination. Why, because you have or not, you must be ordained, and you will definitely be better than those who have not. How are you? If you can’t do the fifty-eight rules, you should make at least ten or twenty, right, and then you didn’t understand it before, and then you didn’t want to do it. After you take the precepts, you will always do a few more. You’ve made more progress in the past. If that standard will improve, just do it. You will definitely try to hold these precepts as much as possible.
For example, killing theft and adultery, you did not suffer before, but now you suffer, you will be more cautious, and you will be less likely to commit crimes. Before, ants came in a bunch, handed it, wow, dozens of lives are gone, you don’t think now Now, if you take the precepts, you will be more careful. What if you accidentally die? I will break the precepts. You don’t need to be like this. If you are not careful, you will have something, because this world is like this. Son, there is no one who doesn't commit a murder. You can trample it to death by accident, right?
But it’s not a small amount of careless negligence, which is different from what you deliberately killed. There are serious and serious crimes, and there are solutions to them, and there are ways to repent. Don’t worry about this. If you do it, it’s better than not doing it well. If you are so active in making money, you won’t give up. Why would you give up after taking precepts?

Others don’t have this cause. I have it, right? This is the blessing of the Three Jewels, right? After such a mood arises, you haven’t After receiving the precepts, Dharma joy is already full, isn't it?
That’s right, the Three Jewels have already begun to bless you, so the thoughts and retributions will be different once the mind is turned. Some people can’t feel it. They scare themselves and are trapped in wrong concepts. Inside, so if you have any questions, you can ask them. After you ask, you will immediately change your mind, and you will feel the joy of the Fa, and the troubles will disappear. All the troubles are because you don’t understand and are wrong. As a result of my knowledge and perception, studying Buddhism must be more and more happier, more liberated, more blessed, and more wise.
This is certain, regardless of whether you are a monk at home, practice or study Buddhism, it is like this, because the ultimate goal of studying Buddhism is to let us get away from suffering and have happiness, and our wishes come true. Whatever you want, you have to purify and liberate you. You have to be pure and liberated. You want to get rich and get rich, you want sons and sons, you have to be clear about everything, and everything is OK. Some people think that I need money to be able to get away from suffering and happiness, and that's okay.
