So after more than five months, I remember that many fellow practitioners raised their hands to express their confidence in their death.But today, we met again on the first day and saw many men, and those familiar faces were gone.
Maybe it’s still early. The fellow practitioners here are still used to coming soon, or maybe those fellow practitioners have already gone to the Paradise of Bliss? The old monk will go there for two years, and we have to go with the old monk. , Not so early.
This time, starting from this evening, we have arranged this course for five days. Everyone will come to discuss further together. So last time we were at the Widder Hotel, and we recorded the XNUMX Vows of the "Blessed Life Sutra", we Speaking of the part of the previous XNUMX wishes, that part, we have begun to circulate at home and abroad in the past few months, and we have received enthusiastic responses from many fellow practitioners.
As long as there is an opportunity to hear the XNUMX vows of the "Blessed Life Sutra", everyone can quickly sense the blessings of Amitabha, and can make a great change in the body and mind at the moment.
Well, during the last video recording, most of the practitioners were very happy to listen to the Fa, but some practitioners listened to it, although they were very happy, but they didn’t understand, why didn’t they understand? This is today’s video. The machine is not stable yet, it doesn't matter, let's fix the concentration.
After the last time we finished studying, a fellow practitioner gave me a suggestion that even in our dojo, there are also many new beginner practitioners. Although they are very happy to hear, they still don’t know the content very well. The reason is that he has no teachings at all. Foundation.He didn't understand why we asked to be born in Paradise.
So our forty-eight vows are mainly for the old fellow practitioners who have made aspirations to live in the blissful world, but there is no way to have absolute confidence in the matter of becoming a Buddha, so our last lecture did not have many basic teachings.
Today I am particularly at the request of the audience. Let’s study today and talk about some doubts that are easier to arise when learning Buddhism, or there are some rules that must be understood.In fact, many of our veteran practitioners don’t understand this part. Just like why the veteran monk advocates the discipline of disciples, in fact, many veteran practitioners have not established their roots well. That’s why the old monks have to advocate it.
So today, based on this cause and condition, I will briefly talk to you that Buddhist monasteries have some basic common sense and rules, which we should understand.We know that the Buddhist dojo is a clean place and an educational place for cultivating sages and sages.
Since it is a place of education, we must first learn from the rules. This is the foundation.After the foundation has taken root, we can have the roots of what we have learned, and be able to steadily and steadily achieve real blessings and wisdom.
If we don’t have these foundations and don’t know the rules, what would happen? The same is true! Now we are here, usually in the Buddhist hall, mainly laymen, and of course we can’t feel that kind of seriousness. Sex.
I just feel that some people are still more sensitive and feel that they don't have obvious growth in Taoism, but they can't tell where the problem lies. In fact, they have no roots.
(2) Examples of ignorance of precepts and troubles in the jungle (1-XNUMX)
So last time, many fellow practitioners also made their minds and asked to receive the Five Precepts.So this time, it seems that everyone’s practice is getting better and better. The blessing of this guardian deity is definitely different. Then the basic rules in all aspects, if we can study harder, the reward will definitely be even better.
If you don’t understand the rules, our chairman is very compassionate here. He looks so gentle and won’t give you incense sticks. It’s different in this sangha. If you don’t understand the rules, you can say that you are very kind all day long. It's hard to get through.
I remember that about ten years ago, I had just arrived at the Baolin Temple in Hong Kong and got close to the old master of the Shangsheng Xia. He was the last master of our country, the method of the old monk Xuyun, and the heir of the ninth generation of Weiyang Sect. He is 94 years old and passed away on August XNUMX this year. He is truly a major practitioner.
Then I also had such a rare opportunity. I was close to his old man. He made me ordination and is our monk.Then the jungle monk group he is in is in the deep mountains of Lantau Island in Hong Kong. It is a very ascetic jungle.
In order to get close to him, I went back to Jie Xia Anju for three consecutive years. It was really miserable! But then I really tasted pleasure from this suffering. If it weren't for the realization of the original wish, the wish of spreading the Dharma and benefiting life, I really You can live there with peace of mind.
There are usually close to one hundred monks living there during the time when Xia settles down. There, it's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon!Such a bitter place, where we sleep less than three feet,
It’s about two and a half feet. If you’re a little fatter, you might turn down and get out of the bed. It must be auspicious, well-prepared. In a space like this, you can sleep about twenty beds, a bit like a morgue. .
Fortunately, there is one mosquito net for one person, because you can't do without mosquito nets in the deep mountains. There must be hundreds of packages in the morning. It doesn't matter if you don't have one or two offerings to mosquitoes and bodhisattvas, so this is a condition of life.
In terms of this rule, it can also be said that the Taoist Temples and Jungle Dojos in today's mainland are also very rare to see such a primitive Chinese jungle Taoist style.How strict is it? Let me give you an example, that is, we have just received the precepts, at that time, the precepts were small!He just became a bhikkhuni after receiving the vows.
Then after receiving the precepts, there is a brother of precepts, and I don’t know which resident he is!After receiving the precepts, he applied to Baolin to place the order, and wanted to get closer to our precepted monks, but that brother brother was very special, a female group in her thirties.
It seems... I said it especially because it seems that the personality is different from ordinary people. It's a bit weird. For example, we can’t touch money, we have to hold the gold and silver ring and can’t touch money. Then I was, when we were taking precepts, I I see... because many fellow practitioners go to the dojo where they teach the precepts to offer new rings.
We know that the first mind is more than enough to become a Buddha, the Tao mind of the first mind, the Tao mind is firm, it is almost no different from the Buddha, his heart is very simple, so many people like to go to the precepts to make offerings. This ring that has just received the vow.
So every one of the precepts, everyone is very cautious in learning to keep it. I saw that brother of the precepts, she actually did not dare to touch the red envelopes provided by others, and because we wanted to keep this precept, we didn’t dare to touch it.In fact, we can open the precepts by keeping the precepts, and we usually take it back and give it to the permanent residents.
As a result, she didn't dare to touch it, and then I saw how she handled it, she actually said, ah!She used this hand to push the red envelope away, as if it were poisonous.Hey!Dare not touch.So so many... At that time, there were probably more than XNUMX people who were ordained, and only one person did this kind of behavior, so this person is really a bit weird.
Then she went to Baolin to place the order after receiving the precepts, and it turned out that something went wrong the first night.Because I haven't learned it yet!We took the precepts for almost two months at the time. Our precepts were very long. We had to listen to the precepts first, and then after listening to the precepts, there were some rules to learn.
Then we got to the three altars of precepts. As a result, during the precepts we learned about the precepts. There were three hundred and forty-eight female precepts, as well as the precepts of the bodhisattva.But other general rules of this dojo have not learned a lot, and she doesn't understand it. Maybe she has rarely been close to the jungle dojo before.
The results of it. .Our Chinese Sangha, especially the Zen dojo rules are very strict and there are some differences. Following this report from India, the rules of the Taoist temple we usually talk about are still a little different. The Zen dojo has its special permanent residence. The statute.
(2) Examples of ignorance of precepts and troubles in the jungle (2-XNUMX)
So when we entered this meditation hall, we were in Baolin. Every night we had to sit on two incense sticks, and one incense stick would take 80 minutes to grow. It wouldn’t work if we didn’t practice leg exercises. Sitting on two incense sticks in a row would be a meditation all night.
The inside of the meditation hall is very quiet. There are only some sounds of insects and birds singing deep in the mountains. Everyone is sitting still. In fact, if you exceed the time, you are not allowed to enter, and you cannot enter the meditation hall again because it will interfere. Others, maybe they are almost enlightened, and when they are so scared by you, they are frightened. This will be very serious, and the serious ones may cause others to get Zen disease. So when you meditate in the meditation hall, this is the case. The rules are particularly strict.
There are also regulations on where everyone sits. As soon as you enter the right side of the meditation hall, the right side of Baolin’s meditation hall is Wei Na. Wei is to maintain order. He can hit people with the incense board, and you can hit people on the spot. If you doze off, he will be incense. The board will serve you down.Patrol by the side at any time, your atmosphere of running the road does not dare to relax at all, Wiener is very fierce!Stern face.
I'm over there... I grew up with my grandparents.I climbed onto Grandpa’s head, but for the first time I felt that I would be afraid of men. He was trained on the Baolin side. He is very majestic. The identity of Bhikkhu and Bhikkhuni, the four disciples are all obeying the book. We are afraid to make a joke.
So when I entered on the left, the seat of our abbot and monk, Master Shengyi, turned out that this eldest bhikkhuni, who had just received the ordination, not only went in for more than time when he entered, it happened that Vina was dozing off and didn't find her. Someone came in in the dark.
Because the lights in the meditation hall are dim, everyone sits quietly because they are farming during the day!If you don't cook for a day, you don't eat for a day, the men in the deep mountains are particularly hard. You have the opportunity to exercise and see. You can stay for three days. It's not easy.At that time, because I had been working during the day, I really meditated at night and it was easy to doze off.
At that time, this Wiener was really amazing. He fell asleep after sitting for less than ten minutes, so this ring, this bhikkhuni went in, and he didn't notice it!Then he swaggered... dozens of people were sitting there quietly.
She walked up to the Buddha and prayed for three prayers. In fact, there is no need to pray to the Buddha in the meditation hall. She didn’t understand. She had already violated a rule. Then when she bowed, I found out...I found out first, but I didn’t move. I want to wait for a good show.
Then I looked at Wei Na again. Wei Na fell asleep and didn't notice it. Then she finished the three prayers, about a minute, and Wei Na hadn't noticed yet. After she got up, she swaggered and sat on the abbot's position. Go down.
Wow!This is amazing, this is not a joke.Because everyone is full, there is no place!The abbot's position was empty, no one dared to sit, so she ran to sit.This is terrible, the abbot's position is by the gate, very close to Wei Na, and immediately wakes up!When Wei Na woke up, he picked up the Xiangban and hit it down. After the hit, he kicked her out and kicked out immediately.
From the second day onwards, the first generation of Bhikkhuni masters who lived in the same house for three generations, followed Master Holy One to fight the world, they were very senior. After decades of this kind of precepts, they began to repair her, and then everyone will see, the elders want Repair this person, of course everyone will look at him.
So from the second day onwards, no one in the Sangha pays attention to her. The most serious punishment is to silently suppress those in the Sangha who can’t fight and fight, and will not scold or beat you. You are not a deacon. You can't do it, the most serious method is silently.
Ignore her, and then ignore her. She is also stupidly ignorant that people ignore her and take things everywhere to get ties with others. In the Zen hall...There is another rule in the Zen dojo. You can’t be like normal. Like in the incense dojo, it is very taboo to chat with others and engage in relationships.
Because of Zen Buddhism, he usually talks to the head. For example, who is the Buddha? A dog has no Buddha nature. His head is like a cat catching a mouse. He watches his prey every minute and every second. The sentence head is his prey, you can't interrupt him.
So in the Zen dojo, no one is paying attention to you or greeting you. Don’t think that they are unreasonable and that they are working hard!We have to know the rules ourselves. As a result, her elders took things everywhere to build relationships with others. Everyone didn't like her when they saw her.
Not only was Elder Ni ignored her, it was true that everyone saw that she was really too ridiculous, one mistake after another, but this person was also very powerful, she could have survived for a month, this is not easy.So it's weird!Normal people ran away in three days.
You can't stay!No one cares about you... She doesn't understand either. This is for her to eliminate karma. This is the case in the Sangha. If you have a fault, you will immediately help you. There are many ways to persuade.Look at the dojos of our ordinary laymen. Sometimes people say that you dare not speak, for fear that you are unhappy. If you really want to talk to you, it may be a good word to persuade you.
The Sangha is not necessarily true. There are various methods and all methods, but no matter what method, the starting point is to help you eliminate karma, help you, train you, and let you learn the rules.Some people find it difficult to tune in and must use various methods. If you can't wait, you will leave.
Staying in the dojo every minute and every second is to subdue your habitual faults... is to practice, and you can’t waste the resources of the ten directions, so you have a way to stay and definitely grow up. As a result, this person really... we also admire her in the end. She can stay for a month, and then it will be the time to complete her order, and then leave, because it is difficult to live like her, but it is also possible.
(XNUMX) The importance of learning etiquette
For example, in our precepts, if you have committed a serious sin, this Parayi law means that for example, bhikshuni and bhikshuni have eight serious sins. These eight meanings are decapitation and decapitation.If your head is severed, you will not be saved, so you must leave the Sangha.
In addition, there is half-life left, called Sangha Possa. This can be saved, but how to save it? You have to stay and live for one or two years, and continue to practice asceticism to serve the public, which is like it is. Put up a sign saying, I am a sinner, and I am now making atonement for everyone to eliminate karma for you.
All your welfare is suspended... The status of the bhikshuni is relatively high, just like an adult is ordained, and then you are a bhikshuni, but if you commit this sangha, you will become like a minority, like a novice. These benefits are just right to temporarily remove your rights and benefits.
And it lasts for one or two years. It really wants to completely eliminate you and get rid of this sin karma you have committed bit by bit. Therefore, there is no chaos in the dojo and no chaos in the Sangha.
Unless you are not at fault, you will be successful if you are at fault. Don’t be afraid to become a monk after listening. This is the most strict one. I’ve just talked about it at the beginning, and now I don’t want to find this kind of dojo. It's easy.
There are not many dojos that do so strictly all day long. Because now everyone is afraid of offending people, they try their best to make good deeds, so we don’t abide by the rules. Usually there is nothing. In this ordinary dojo, if you are a monk. The retribution in the group will appear immediately.
Therefore, it is necessary to understand some rules and learn as much as possible. As a layman, we must learn the five basic precepts and the bodhisattva precepts. You must learn the precepts as a basis for being a disciple of the Buddha.The more precise you can master, you will walk vigorously.
It’s really an old fellow practitioner, and people will respect you. It doesn’t mean that you have been in Buddhism for a long time, and in fact, you haven’t really practiced well. He often puts on the air and wants to instruct others, real old fellow practitioners. It is that we ourselves know the precepts and rules very well, and you have the ability to guide others, and this is the real senior.
So, as we generally say, if we enter the dojo where we recite and practice together, of course we must first salute the Buddha as soon as we enter. This fellow practitioners all know it!But have you ever seen that as soon as you came in and walked to the abbot's seat, you bowed down.
The middle seat is worshipped by the abbot, the abbot or the mage, and this worship pad cannot be worshipped casually, so generally if you only prepare a worship pad, you should never walk to the center and worship. People who know the rules will think, Is this person possessed?It's still weird...how can we bow down to the abbot's seat in a swaying manner?Because this is common sense, common sense should be understood.
If you really see this phenomenon, the president inside should feel a little bit ashamed, or be a deacon. Some deacons we are present must give guidance. For example, there is Master Zhike in the jungle, he is specially receiving guests, which Local worship and any rules must be explained to him. This is the most basic.
Men are usually in Dongdan, men are in Dongdan, and women are in Xidan. Everyone knows that when praying, the head and the ground are to be worshipped.I once saw a layman in Taiwan not long ago, and the president of the nearby Jingzong Society took her to my place...a place of meditation.
Ask me to help her teach the three refuges. It is very prudent to teach the three refuges. After the teaching, she actually only paid halfway through the three prayers and didn't point her head. It really means... because she doesn't understand. , She really didn't understand, she really didn't look respectful at first.
There used to be a mage who went to see the Sixth Patriarch Huineng like this!He has a very good practice, he is arrogant, and he doesn’t touch the ground when he worships the Buddha. This Master Hui Neng can tell from his movements that he is arrogant and thinks he has cultivated very well, and he has no heart for the Buddha’s worship. A sincere.
It can be seen from our behavior that although he does not understand, he does not understand that he does not understand respectfulness in his heart. Although he does not understand the rules, the action seems to be understandable. He does not have respectfulness in his heart. We all pay attention.
(XNUMX) Buddhist rituals that all Buddhist disciples should learn
Then when you see a person, you must put your hands together and say "Namo Amitabha" or "Amitabha". This is to greet him, bless him with immeasurable light and immeasurable life, and bless him with good luck at six o'clock is the most polite and the best one. The way.
Then don’t go and chat anymore. We Chinese people like to start eating after seeing someone say hello. Have you...how are you doing now? The most common thing I hear is whether you are full...have you eaten?In case this person just came out of the toilet, do you also ask him if he is full?What can be eaten in the toilet, it seems that the timing is not right.
So don't just make a fool of yourself. A true practitioner will not say a word of nonsense or inappropriate words. That is all called drama, and sometimes it becomes a joke.Like we just said, alas!That's really... you didn't think it was a big deal at first, but I'm usually used to seeing people say a few more words and say hello to express my enthusiasm, this kind of enthusiasm and friendliness!
But in fact, we all have a lot of problems, and we didn’t even notice it. Like some people who have been in Buddhism for a long time, they still don’t know this. We often recite Nanwu (ㄇㄡˊ) Amitabha, and he recites Nanwu (ㄨˊ) Amitabha." "No" (ㄨˊ) Well, it seems that there is no Amitabha Buddha in the south. He doesn’t even understand this meaning and reads wrongly. There are people like this. Of course, we rarely meet in the Jingzong Daochang, so I’ve encountered it. .
The meaning of "Nanwu Amitabha Buddha" is well understood by our fellow practitioners. In particular, the explanation given by Master Shandao to us is more accurate. His explanation is entirely based on the perspective of the three resources of our rebirth.
To say nothing is to return to fate and to make a vow.The one who speaks about Amitabha Buddha is his deeds, and Yisi will be reborn.So when we see people put their palms together and recite Nammo Amitabha, we are actually blessing him to regenerate into a Buddha in this life, so we must understand the true inner meaning of this principle, and don’t let some people read it wrong. Give people a big laugh.
The fellow practitioners in this dojo know that, but what we are talking about today is for beginners to clarify doubts. Some doubts and rules are indeed not understood by many people. We also need to mention it here. For example, when you enter the dojo, some people don’t need to light incense. I started looking for the incense burner for incense and even the one who threw it. It was a monastery with ordinary incense.
It also exists in the mainland. It looks like a temple or this Taoist temple, but he can't figure it out. As soon as he enters, he needs to find incense. This is not necessary.This is not environmentally friendly. It is the job of the incense lamp to light it once in the morning.
Once I went to a society in Malaysia, I won’t talk about anything, because they also wanted to do some rules well, but they did something wrong. Generally, if there are VIPs, we have to pick them up, and the elders will come. We are going to sing praises of "burning incense praises", sing praises here, and then the elder walks forward step by step, and then hits the ring three times to pick up the elder.
If it is an ordinary VIP who comes in, there is no need to sing praises, but Wiener still has to knock the big chime three times to greet him and pick him up from the master for three prayers. Then once I went there, we learned a lot, you see, we come here too. No one picked up and didn't pay attention to it. If you were in a monastery, you would definitely do it.
I went to the institute to be very careful and she picked me up, but I also prayed for three prayers, and she also picked up me for three prayers. After three prayers, she even lighted incense for me. I felt weird. How can you give me incense?It's not just a stick when I order three incense sticks.
We usually don’t just light a stick of incense as the incense lamp master. This is the case in Buddhism. Only in Taoism, the more incense, the more prosperous, and the more inspiration here, that’s different.As a result, she actually gave me three incense sticks, and I was puzzled... weird, give it to me?
Then after giving it to me, she disappeared and ran away. She went to work on other things, and then I stood there... Strange, where do I want to plug it in?I don't know, because the first time I went, Sanjixiang didn't know where to insert it?I had to stand in front of the worship pad and wait for her. I didn't dare to run around, so I just stopped there.
About a minute or two, she is finished... She may suddenly think of something to find something. When she comes in a minute or two, I will ask her, may I ask where to plug it in?Then she took me to three places to plug it in, which was so strange!I have never encountered such a situation.
So this is not right.Don't overdo it. Think about it, how do you know where the incense is going to be inserted if the guest has never been here?You still give her incense. Generally, you don't need or don't need to light incense. As long as this is three weeks to meet the mage, that's enough, so we should do this too.
There are monks coming, not to say that ordinary practitioners don't need it!I don’t need to do my own meditation hall. I don’t need to pick up every time I see people visiting. The chime was hit three times. After the Master prayed for three worships, he changed to Weina to pick him up and prayed to the Master for three worships. As long as the dojo needs to be done, it doesn't have to be done in the Sangha.
(XNUMX) When you go to the Three Treasures, you must collect six single-minded Buddhas
When we go to the dojo for meditation together, we must not distract ourselves, chat or say hello. For one thing, we have to do the Taoism and practice, walk very lightly and don’t run around. If we are in a hurry, we speak softly, you see. "Forbidden words" are posted here, for people...just for decoration! "Forbidden words"!Such obvious words, if you really want to say it, just say it quietly.
You have to walk elegantly to look like a spiritual practitioner. You must pay attention to this detail.Take the six elements together, the six elements-eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind. Don’t look around, as if pilgrims come here to visit. You will know that you are a layman and not a real cultivator. People will know at a glance. Don't look around, look ahead.
Then don’t keep your eyes floating, so that you can keep your righteous thoughts. We will place this righteous thought on the Buddha's name. We should recite the Buddha in our heart. Try not to speak as much as possible. You don’t even have to say hello. Just put your hands together and recite Amitabha. It is very important to practice.
When we walk, stay, sit, and lie, we have to mention the Buddha's name. The Buddha's name is not chanted as if singing, and then looking around, the mind that is not practicing is not really rigorous is collecting the six elements.
We have to develop a habit. We may not notice it normally. If you pay attention to it, you will feel that I am chanting this Buddha's name all the time. I feel that I am very aggressive.
Walking, standing, sitting and lying, although we all know that we all need to recite the Buddha, but you also need to pay attention to your body, mouth, and mind. You will obviously feel that you are working hard all the time, and then that dharma happiness will easily arise.
(XNUMX) Don't take the Three Treasures without authorization
Also, the things that we live in the dojo must not be used by ourselves without asking the deacon. You want to say that I donated a lot of money here and I have been supporting it for a long time, and then it’s okay to use a little bit of stuff. It’s not like this. To understand.
You donate it to belong to the dojo. The dojo is Shifang’s asset. The creditor is Shifang. Even if you use it, you take a flower. You think the flower is about to wither. I kindly bring it back. Trim it and use it for a few more days. Don’t you want to waste it! But if you don’t ask, you just take it away. This is also a crime of theft.
A flower or a herb is not acceptable. You must ask and ask the deacon before you can get it. Otherwise, this creditor!Shifang, you took a flower, and you owe a flower to each of the sentient beings in Shifang. This is how the account is calculated... It's very serious!
So we know why we practice in Buddhism, and the merits are so great.We know about the koan of two pennies, a very poor person, she donated two pennies, which is all of her, and she was very respectful for support. As a result, she felt that she was retributed to the world, and she was immediately selected as a queen and became a rich man. People, why is there such a big blessing?Because she offered two pennies to support her, all sentient beings from all directions received two pennies from her. That's why she will be rewarded with good fortune... the so-called give up one to get ten thousand rewards!
This ten thousand is not ten thousand, it is immeasurable, the reason is here, understand?So everyone has to cultivate blessings. Cultivating blessings in the Three Treasures is the greatest blessing. This is true. It is not because we are Buddhist disciples. We can do charity in the world. We can do whatever we happen to do. Really smart people should try their best in the Three Treasures of Buddhism, and seize the opportunity to feel that this opportunity is rare. I will quickly cultivate the cause and plant the cause, and give up a million rewards. You are not...but you can’t just make this. With such a good interest to support, there is no merit, you have to ask for nothing, true respect, it is really an infinite return.
Don’t say you laymen, the monks are also the same. In the past, the rules in this jungle had their own deacons. In the kitchen, the seat is the largest. You must ask him what to use. As a result, there was a monk and he took it. A pinch of salt, but because he happened to have too many people, he couldn't find a classic seat at a time, so he wanted to borrow it first and talk to him later.
Of course he knows the rules. He wants to tell him later, but in the end he forgot, just a handful of salt, and later forgot. After a long time, one day when he was meditating, he suddenly appeared in the realm. The big mountain is made of salt, the whole mountain is so big that it is salt, it's all salt.
He said that it was strange how this kind of realm was present, and then he continued to meditate and think, oh!I know, at that time, he borrowed a small amount of salt from his permanent residence and did not pay it back. Fortunately, he has concentration and he can see that it didn’t take long. He hasn’t passed away in his entire life, and he has been repaid. That debt has become so much...a mountain.
If you don’t live so much, please repent and deal with it as soon as possible. Therefore, we have to pay attention to this subtle place. We have committed crimes without knowing it. If it is for the public, we can take it, provide for the fellow practitioners, and donate to the community. It doesn't matter what the food is.
Other places, even a ball pen, or a small object cannot be taken by yourself. Another thing is that the initiates generally did not notice. We learned that many places are for fasting and let everyone eat for free. Of course, it is free!Of course, you don’t need to charge for free. Everyone is welcome to be vegetarian, and vegetarianism is promoted. So many fellow practitioners just...take it for granted.
To provide...actually, “to provide” means that a monk can say “to provide”, but a layman can’t, but it doesn’t cost money anyway, and we don’t charge money for all activities in Buddhism, because the dojo does not deal with transactions. , It's all a supportive heart, and do your best to support the public for your own blessings.
Those of us who go to activities in the dojo must know that we also want to repair our blessings. We can't damage our blessings. If people don't charge money, I will use it ostentatiously, oh!Of course it is possible, you are not at fault, you are not at fault, because you didn't collect money originally, but our rewards will be lost.
We just said that the Dafubao can be repaired in the Three Treasures. If it is damaged, it will also damage the Dafubao, right?Relatively!So unless we are really incapable, really incapable, and you are very poor and have no money, then you don’t matter. As long as you really have Taoism and many dojos are very happy to support you for your practice, there is no problem, as long as you Really need to practice.
But if you have a little ability, people have just talked about the two-cent koan. The two-cent is her only remaining property. She supports all of the temple, and she knows how to cultivate fortune!So we have to be smarter, and we must know how to seize the opportunity to accumulate contributions for ourselves.
Don't want to say that anyway, he doesn't care about me and I try to take advantage of me. The biggest loss is myself.The rewards are all made for others, right?It seems to have taken advantage of it, but in fact it has suffered a lot, so I have to pay attention to this a little bit.
(XNUMX) Buddha disciples should abide by the precepts and be cautious in words and deeds
If we see the monk, the monk, we can also put our hands together for questioning.Don't worship when you eat. We used to see old masters eating. Many old fellow practitioners are...especially old Bodhisattvas from the mainland.When we saw the old mage, we were very touched! But you still have to understand the rules.
The old mage was eating over there, and knocked as soon as he came over!Just worship, the old master said no or no.Then the second one came again, knocked again!After worshipping again, the old master did not worship or worship, and the whole meal was over there without worship or worship, and there was no way to eat it.Our precepts also stipulate that we don’t need to worship when we eat, and we should put our hands together on Amitabha, and that’s it.
If you want to get close to the Master, you should ask the deacon to arrange it. This is also a basic courtesy and respect the deacon.Another important point is that fellow practitioners often commit crimes, especially older fellow practitioners who are more likely to commit crimes. We know that "not in position, don't seek government!" We have no deacons. No matter how old we are, we will go to the dojo. Don't give advice to others casually.
The old layman Li Bingnan said that there would be so much chaos in this monk group. The main reason was that there were too many "good people", especially the old fellow practitioners, who were very enthusiastic!Really very heartfelt.But think about it, everyone. There must be a lot of old practitioners in Buddhism, so why the older the dojo, the more chaotic, because there are many old practitioners, and then one sentence, one sentence, who should I listen to?
If you say that if people don't accept it, then you will lose face?Then I have troubles again, why bother?So this is also a rule, and you must know how to handle it.If you don't have a stand, we should not interfere. The deacon's decision is right or wrong, and we try to cooperate as much as possible, because we have to abide by the rules, so that we can reconcile!
The old monk has always been... The Liuhejing, which is being advocated recently, we need to be with others, not waiting for them to be with us.Therefore, we must cooperate with others, not ask them to cooperate with us. We have a lot of persistence. In this way, we can say that the more we cultivate, the more troubles we have.
What about in the Sangha... Why do people feel that there are no results of practice in the Buddhist monastery, and some family members will be very discouraged when they see it!Disagree.Then we will have some obstacles in our own practice, so we must pay attention to these details.
It should be that the more you practice, the more you get along with others, the more you practice, the less opinions you have.Our practice is to break ego-attachment and dharma-attachment. The more we are at ease, the more liberated we will be. How can we practice more and more things?It seems that I can never finish it, there are a lot of things, this is very important.You must rejoice in your merits, make good connections, and cooperate more with others, because there is actually a deep truth in it.
I saw a story before, and I thought it was quite interesting.The content is like this. There is a church in Northern Europe, and there is a statue of Jesus hanging in the church.He was nailed to the cross, and then He was nailed to the cross because of... the appearance of Jesus being nailed to the cross... He used to suffer for all living beings, and there was that blood on his body, and then he seemed to be over there, being punished over there.
One day, the guardian of the gatekeeper of the church suddenly realized that Jesus had to hang there all day and it was very hard. He wanted to share his sorrows and alleviate his work.He can talk to Jesus!He was very attentive, he said Jesus!It's very hard for you to hang there every day. You come down to rest for a few days, and I will hang it for you, and then you can take care of it for a few days.
Then Jesus said okay!Since you are so motivated, I will give you a chance to repair your blessings, and that Jesus will come down and hang him instead.But he had a condition, and Jesus told him.There are people who come to worship every day, and there are all kinds of people.No matter what you see, you can't make a sound.
On the one hand, it cannot be noticed that he is a fake Jesus.On the one hand, there is a secret in it, and a mystery in it.Just tell him that you must abide by this rule, or you won't be qualified to take my place anymore.Then I talked to him about the conditions, no problem, no problem, I didn't say anything when I saw it.
The results of it?Just change him to hang on it for many days, come and go, everyone has.One day, a rich man came, and that rich man often carried a lot of money with him, a lot of money, and a paper bag with money.He might have drunk too much the night before, and was still dizzy, so he put the money in the chair next to him, and then began to pray.
After praying, he might not be so clear-headed, forgetting that the money hadn't been taken away, he turned his head and went out.Wow~ When this person looked at this fake Jesus, he felt anxious. With so much money, I really want to tell him, wait a moment... You didn't get the money, just want to remind him!In the end, he still held back and did not speak.
The second next, a poor man came in. He was very poor. He also prayed and came to ask Jesus.He said that he has no food at home now. He really has no food or even rice. There are still several children in the family who are hungry, waiting to eat.I hope Jesus can give him a miracle. After he finished speaking, he will see the big bag of money next to him.Wow~ he immediately felt, wow~ Jesus appeared, and immediately gave him a bunch of money, so he happily took the money away.
The fake Jesus above was even more nervous when I saw this scene. I was very excited just now and wanted to intervene. Now I really want to call him back. The money is not yours.But after all, it has been hanging for several days, and he still has a bit of determination, and hasn't intervened yet.
After a while, another person came in. He was a young man. This young man was going to work and sailing.He came to pray for peace, but when he prayed, half of the prayer, the rich businessman suddenly ran in, because he came back to look for his money, and he wanted to say that the money fell in the church just now.
As a result, as soon as he came in, he grabbed a young man's clothes without saying anything, and returned the money to me, and misunderstood him because there was no one else around!Just grab him.At this time, he couldn't bear this fake Jesus anymore. He must be a chivalrous man and he must come down to clarify the messy misunderstanding of this matter.
Alright!He came down.After coming down, of course, it will be clear after speaking.This was taken by a poor man just now. It wasn't him, so it's okay to make it clear.Then, the rich businessman went to the poor man and took the money back. The young man left after praying.Then the false Jesus will go up again, and will go up and hang there again.At this time Jesus, the real Jesus appeared, and told him, you can't go up anymore.
He said, why?Did I just deal with it incorrectly?He said, the things we agreed upon, you have now...have not done it, you can't go up again.He said, but I clearly did nothing wrong!Jesus told him that there is cause and effect in the dark, and there is a secret in it.If you don't come down and intervene just now, the young man will not die. If you let them entangle again, the rich man will entangle him, and he will delay his time to go to sea.
But now?Because he caught up with that ship, and now that ship is sinking, the young man is dead.Where is the poor man?The children in the family are hungry and need the money.But because of your intervention, the rich man was quickly found back.His money is just for eating, drinking, and gambling!So do you think you really helped them?
From the perspective of our Buddhism, we can also say that the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were doing blessing arrangements during the meditation, and the result was destroyed by you, right?The more you help, the more you can do it!There really is such a thing.We all think that we have done a lot of good deeds.In fact, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are arranging many things in the dark, how do we understand!As a result, the more and more you help over there, really... through this example, we really have to be very cautious in our words and deeds.
Don't think that we, we think we are good intentions, none of us ordinary people really have good intentions!If you really have good intentions, have no selfishness at all, and do not have your own troubles and habits at work, then you are a saint, and you are not an ordinary person.If you are really a saint, then you will definitely do the appropriate treatment.You will not help more and more, you must have that wisdom, and you will not "be out of your place and do nothing about it" to interfere with the secrets of heaven, right?
So some people are smart, but for example, he can report the winning numbers to you so that you can make money, but he can't do it casually, he is also afraid of breaking the rules.Even if he has the ability, he dare not. The cause and effect in this secret is not something we can handle. So through this example, we really have to be very careful.
(XNUMX) How to take a look at one's own oral trade
Practicing is about cultivating oneself, not cultivating others.Especially our oral trade is easy to commit, body, mouth, and mind.Yi Karma-of course the idea!There are a lot of these delusions and evil thoughts, but after all, they haven't done it yet.Then you have to concoct this bodily karma again. For example, if you are going to kill people and you are going to beat people, it will take some time to accumulate and have opportunities, so you won't commit it right away.
This oral karma is the easiest to commit. If you say anything casually, you don't even know that you have created multiple karma.In a word, it's incredible!Therefore, we must develop a habit of not talking about other people's faults.Especially for the layperson, it is absolutely impossible to tell the faults of the family.
Today, a little girl told me, Master, is every master good?I said not necessarily.How about his practice?Everyone has different levels of practice, and not every master is necessarily good.She listened to me and said, what happened to a master that I heard that day... This little girl is only ten years old, then I will stop her immediately. You can't tell the fault of the master.
I said, do you have no shortcomings?Do you have no shortcomings yourself?You just said that the master is not good, but he is actually better than you, because he didn't say that you were wrong!right?Then you also have shortcomings, he also has shortcomings, it's fair.But he didn't tell you that you were at fault. You told people that you were at fault. You are worse than him, right?
In particular, we need to know our own generation. You can see that the old layman Li Bingnan did a good job, especially in Taiwan, in the promotion of the Pure Land Method. He is really a great hero and has high morals. We all respect him.But he is very respectful to the monks. What is this?This is his own obedience, he knows ethics.
The sangha has the ethics of the sangha. When we see the monk, we must respect the monk. Regardless of whether he has cultivated well or not, it is his personal cause and effect.He doesn't repair well, can I just do it casually?Can we not follow the rules?right?When children look at their parents, it is easy to see shortcomings.But no matter how he is your elder, you can't criticize him. This is the same reason.
Therefore, a true practitioner will never see the world.Practicing is to look back at our own faults and never criticize others. This verbal practice must be kept, and if you want to speak, you must be obedient.It's not to fawn!If you admire it, you must have a purpose and have no good intentions in favor of others!
How about being obedient?The only way to revitalize Buddhism is to praise the monk.Our four disciples also want to admire each other, this is for the prosperity of Buddhism and for the sake of the overall situation.If you really want to say something, you must say good things. If you really see this person, it seems that there is no good point to talk about, so don't speak up.You don't have to force yourself to speak some violations... and then your face is ugly, so you can't say it.
But, in fact, you use your heart carefully. Everyone has his own advantages. If we open up our minds, you can definitely see his advantages.Every time you say a word of admiration, you are not only forging a good relationship with him, you are also revitalizing Buddhism, and your contribution is great.Don't look at us as a small Buddha disciple. It doesn't seem to have much effect, but in fact it has a great influence.
(XNUMX) Sincere care can save sentient beings and even make Buddhahood
A word or two may change a person's destiny and may make a person become a Buddha.You admire him and encourage him, his shortcomings are completely ignored, and he will correct it himself when he is time.The Buddha and Bodhisattva will arrange it without us having to deal with it.We just need to help him, encourage him, and admire him.
I once saw a story on the Internet, a real story, the name of this article is a bowl of soup noodles.The content in it is about XNUMX words long.A bowl of noodle soup, the noodle we ate, a bowl of noodle soup.This is something that happened in Hokkaido, Japan. The proprietress of that noodle shop is very kind.
One day a visitor came. It was a mother with two boys. The Japanese have a habit of eating a bowl of noodles during the New Year's Eve.They are very poor and debt-laden, and they can no longer survive, so they may commit suicide if they can't survive.It's hard to celebrate the New Year!There is only one day in this year, one custom.
She frugally eats and spends only one day, and the three of them eat a bowl of noodle soup.The boss is very attentive, and the wife of the boss is also very nice. He was going to give them two bowls, but the boss said no, so they would hurt their self-esteem.He deliberately put a lot of noodles in a bowl, and a lot of noodles in a bowl. She said that when she went to the Christian church, the atmosphere of everyone was very pleasant and warm. She asked me why?I said, indeed, this kind of phenomenon seems to exist, so I... I can't deny it!
Of course, there is a deeper difference. The benefits that Buddhism can bring to the public are of course supremely complete.However, in this part of the foundation, the exchanges between fellow practitioners and the atmosphere of the cultivating temple, this part is indeed often inferior to that of the Christian atmosphere.But of course it's different!We have different demands.
For example, there are "forbidden words" in the Buddhist temple, so of course you don't want to talk about it.We can still do Taoism with peace of mind, but doing Taoism with peace of mind can emit a very peaceful magnetic field, and we can still feel very warm, blessed by the Three Treasures.
At least we must care for others, let others... is to avoid the feeling that they are mutually exclusive and will not sincerely care about others.At least you don't want to trouble anyone, right?Don't look at others as unpleasant!Then it was very nice, I was helping him!He is wrong, I am correcting him.
So we always want to emphasize, don't talk about other people's faults, you really want to help others, you must say good things, and be very friendly.Then you really don’t know how to do it, and you didn’t send that heart.You don't want to do it without reluctance, but when your time comes and your compassion arises, you should try your best to care for fellow daoists.
Even one look, one or two words of care, is enough.To develop this habit, this is our duty!The duty of a Buddha disciple!This is also a basic rule.The thing to do is... is the rules, we should learn.This is also a part that we generally neglect, so I also bring it up here as a reference for everyone.

Okay!Why do you have to learn Buddhism?Fellow practitioners may have heard of it, but I often hear such a reaction that there is no need to learn Buddhism.
In fact, whether you are kind or not is not determined by yourself.To what extent is it serious for us in the Dharma-Ending Period?Even the teachers at the school and even the masters and doctors, many people probably don’t understand, what is kindness?What is evil?
You can't even distinguish between good and evil, what is the standard of good and evil?This value is confused!If you don't understand the standards of good and evil, how do you educate your next generation?How do you really break the evil and cultivate the good, and truly be a good person?It's serious enough!In ancient times, when morality was a little better, there were really good people.
The five constants of Confucianism, benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom, and faith, still have this foundation.Now there is almost no, and it is rarely seen that this basic standard has not been met, that is, the evil person is not the good person.The Ksitigarbha scriptures are more detailed, Yan Futi all sentient beings have thoughts about sin and karma.As long as we have a thought, we are creating karma to be evil. This standard is very high, but this is true and not an exaggeration at all.
So are we thinking all the time?And almost all the thoughts of moving are evil thoughts.What is evil thought?The old monk has a very simple explanation. Everything that benefits others is good, and everything that benefits oneself is evil.May I ask you, for whom is everything you do from morning to night?For yourself!right?
Are we good or evil?Immediately analyze it to be clear!Don't you give me any more reasons to justify yourself, you can't find it!You wake up in the morning to eat, don’t you want to eat yourself?right?What do you do, don’t you go out to work to make money?Use it yourself!Let us use it!No, I use what I have left, and I really found it in my conscience to quickly go to repair the blessing. This kind of people are... this kind of people is not easy anymore, they are rare.
It’s already very difficult if you don’t recite the Buddha and take advantage of others and commit theft. It’s really like this.So who needs to learn Buddhism?Everyone needs to learn Buddhism, then don't you...you don't understand if you haven't listened to the scriptures or touched it. Your thoughts and thoughts are all creating karma, so is there any result in creating karma?Have.Like a shadow, no cause and effect.
(Thirteen) The three generations of Buddhism talk about the most complete cause and effect
"The Bodhisattva fears the cause, and all beings fear the effect", the Bodhisattva understands the cause and effect of this matter.The cause and effect we talked about by Buddhism is more thorough, and we talk about the cause and effect of the three generations very well.Confucianism mainly focuses on the cause and effect in this life. Some Christians may talk about the two lives, and when it comes to the afterlife, they must go to the Lord in the afterlife!But the past life did not mention it, because this world was created by God.
Then our Buddhist school talks about three generations of cause and effect, which is very complete. Bodhisattvas have wisdom and supernatural powers. Knowing that this cause and effect is very terrible, and there is nothing to escape, no one can replace you.
Those beings stupidly don't understand anything, and are desperately creating karma to do what they want, as long as I like it, what can't you do?The slogan of young people!
When the fruit is repaid, alas!Shout out!Blame the heavens and the others!This is useless.You don’t understand cause and effect, is there any effect?There are still!So it’s better to understand it a little bit earlier. You can avoid it, and you can do less karma, so do you need to learn Buddhism?
Even if you don't want to become a Buddha, you still want to be a human being!You still want to live smoothly and profitably. As long as you have a little need, you have to learn Buddhism. You can understand the principles of cause and effect.Cause and effect are the most basic. The Buddha Fa speaks of emptiness, all dharmas are empty, and they are not available.However, although all dharmas are empty and unavailable, cause and effect are not empty.
Even if you become a Buddha, you are freed, all the karma is eliminated, and you have supernatural powers at ease, but when you come back to save sentient beings by taking the aspiration, will the cause and effect be there?in.This truth is very deep, strange?Don’t we have no karma if we escape to the Paradise of Elysium?Is there no karma to become a Buddha?It can also be said that there is no karma.
But when you go to the ten directions and ten realms, and even the three evil ways to save sentient beings.There are various causes and conditions of good and evil in the ten realms, and when the conditions are mature, the evil retribution will come forward.So even if you become a Buddha, is there cause and effect?Still there.You still can't escape, but you are not afraid.We are ordinary people now, and we can't stand it before the retribution!Very bitter!Very painful.
But if we come back after becoming a Buddha, when we encounter these evil effects, we will no longer suffer.That is not to be afraid, but is the cause and effect itself?Even if you become a Buddha, you are still there.
So if you truly understand the cause and effect of the three generations, you will become very wise.For example, when you see people in this life, some people say that my good intentions are not rewarded, and cause and effect are not working.
You see, I have been so good to others, but they have given me bad retribution.This person has done all the bad things, but he is very rich, and no one can do anything about him. Now in the Dharma Ending Period!This villain is in power!The law is weak and the evil is strong. He likes to gain fame and gain. This struggle-loving person often seems to have the upper hand.People are good to be deceived, and Ma is good to be ridden. It looks like this, so you don't believe in cause and effect.
That's because you don't understand the cause and effect of the three generations. Karma is connected to the three generations. This person is now showing off his power, because the blessings he has cultivated in his past life have not yet been used up, and he is still enjoying his blessing.When his rewards are used up, his evil rewards will appear.When is it now?Not necessarily in this life, maybe in the afterlife, you can't see it, so you think it doesn't.
In the same way, we are good to others now, and we cultivate this cause, but because his karma is still there, he doesn't know how to be grateful or repaying, he will realize one day in the future, maybe in the next life.Will he repay you when he is enlightened?meeting.And just give up a ten thousand return, and then return, because the longer the time, the higher the accumulated interest.
So don’t rush people to pay you back. It’s best if you don’t ask for anything. You’d better not pay me back, so that the interest can be a little bit more, and the interest can be kept longer.If you understand the cause and effect of the three generations, you will have a balance in your heart, and you will know how to continuously create causes and good causes.You will not feel disadvantaged.
