Yesterday we talked about the five precepts. , The precept against adultery. Next, the fourth precept of the five precepts is not to lie, not to lie. Obviously, you must not lie. Not only must you not lie, you must be able to do what you say further, that is, you must Able to keep promises.
In fact, this precept is very difficult to keep, and it is easy to break it every day. Therefore, the so-called three karma, body, mouth, and mind that we usually hear, are different in this order in the "Blessed Life Sutra". The permutation and combination of, its arrangement is mouth, body, and mind. This arrangement has some deep meanings that are inherent in it, and the old monk has also proposed it.So this shows that because the "Blessed Life Sutra" is our pure land method, the object of opportunity is the ordinary people of sin and karma, so there are such permutations and combinations in the "Blessed Life Sutra", which just shows that we ordinary people, oral karma is the easiest to commit. I dare not ask that this mental karma must be clean, but we must pay special attention to the first karma.
So the same way we practice this method, our key is to truly believe in aspirations, then this aspiration, whether we can die, in fact, the key, the most important thing is the aspiration, so why do many people recite the Buddha, but those who die? It doesn't seem to be much. On the one hand, because I haven't come into contact with the in-depth guidance of Master Shandao before, the other problem is that the wishes made are false.Our ordinary beings are often not pure in body, speech and mind, so the first thing that is easy to commit in this behavior is oral karma, speech is not a word, even if it is a vow, it seems that we really need to practice diligently, but this vow is not reliable. why?This is the habit of our ordinary people.
Therefore, whether we can die, we have to look back, whether we make this wish a true wish, if it is true, then it is certain that everyone will be able to fulfill the wish in this life, because there will never be a problem on the Buddha’s side. Therefore, in our daily life, we have to develop the habit of not talking about lies. Don’t have some old fellow practitioners who have committed a problem in particular. They think that we are going to save sentient beings. Entering the wisdom of the Buddha", so he is very comfortable to open up the predestined relationship, lie in lie, the beautiful name is to save sentient beings, in fact, he follows his own habits and does not realize it.
So the most important thing for us now is to keep this habit and develop the habit of not speaking lie, so especially when we are in this aspiration to survive, we will be able to feel that our wish is becoming more and more sincere, even if it is At the beginning, there was still a little bit of unwillingness. Anyway, everyone around me has made a wish. I am too lonely here if I don’t go alone. It is possible to make a wish casually, but if we develop this habit of not talking, gradually, whether we make a wish to bliss Whether it is the world, or this kind of interaction with people in ordinary times, you will gradually show our sincerity.
Therefore, this precept, especially this precept of falsehood, must be kept with great care. On the one hand, we must avoid creating karma, because this precept is easy to break. We must pay attention to it with our heart. On the one hand, we can go further and help our desire to survive. , Unknowingly, you follow your true heart. The wish you made is to become more and more sincere. Of course, you will become more and more confident in your death.The fifth is the precept of drinking, not drinking. This non-drinking is the wine itself, which is not meat. Why is it placed among the five precepts? The five precepts are sexual precepts. They are very important and fundamental precepts that must be kept regardless of whether you are a monk at home. Why is it included in the five precepts? Because we are afraid that we will drank alcohol and have disorderly sex after drinking. The first four precepts will all be guilty. After committing them, we will not admit them. Because we drank alcohol and did nothing, so it’s you. .. We can be a human being. You still can’t get away with this cause and effect. Therefore, we are often the most negligent of the drinking precept, but it is easy to cause the violation of this. The cause of the violation of the precept is more serious. They are all committed, so we must be especially cautious, including some drugs, or some stimulants, sleeping pills and the like that make us unconscious, all belong to this range, and we must avoid them.
Well, some fellow practitioners have already received the five precepts and are studying very hard, but they always have a kind of worry in the past, fearing that they will break the precepts after taking the precepts. So some people have not dared to take the precepts. I often remind everyone that we are not afraid of breaking the precepts. The most important thing is that we must know how to practice confession and have a heart of repentance every day. No one can keep the precepts to Consummation in this life, so they cannot keep Consummation. In other words, we must break the precepts. , Even if you don’t ask to take the precepts, you still have these precepts. You still commit these precepts, and you still have retributions. Therefore, the method of repentance must be required. It is a must-practice method for everyone. Not only do we have to hurry up when we accidentally break the precepts. Repent, recite the Buddha to give him dedication and repentance. Even if he did not take the precepts, did not break the precepts without noticing it, and didn’t realize that he had violated the precepts unintentionally, he still had to practice the method of repentance every day.
(XNUMX) No more after repentance of karma
In the past two years, one of our students in this fifth training class: Mr. He Meihui, started to bring the confession class. I have seen the CD recorded by her, and the talk is very good. This confession class is not easy to take, and those who take it have to send it. Daxin, the participants should really muster a lot of courage to confess in front of the public, take out their bad heart and lungs, and confess to the public, the effect will be faster to eliminate karma, but relatively, you have to Taking this first step is not easy.
For example, if you had an affair in the past, then you were married, and now you have to confess with your significant other, wow, did you say it?As soon as the worry comes out, in case the other party’s mind is very small, every time he quarrels, he thinks of you: "Oh, so you had an affair before." This old account is turned out and it will be miserable! You will have these concerns, or I mean, I’m saying it, my image is very good. When I say it, everyone around me knows: "So you are this kind of person", one by one...one by one, and finally to your ears. But it is very uncomfortable, this really requires a lot of courage.
There are several types of confession in our general precepts. One is "to the first confession". The first is the first confession of the leader. It means to confess to a person. There are objects called "the first confession". This is a general comparison. Ordinary confession, some minor problems, we have to confess frequently in the Sangha. Many details of life will definitely be committed. If you commit a crime, confess as soon as possible. Find someone to confess, and your confession will be pure.
The other type is "repentance", "repentance" is more difficult, that is, you have to face the Buddha and Bodhisattva, either reciting the Buddha or worshiping the Buddha, and keep showing repentance until you see the Buddha and Bodhisattva showing it to you. For example, if you give you a crown in a dream, or before all kinds of auras appear, then your sin will be confessed. This is more difficult. Don’t want to say confessing to the clay... the wood-carved Buddha and Bodhisattva of clay, No one knows, it's relatively simple, usually this way of confession is fine, but the real confession is to see the good looks, so this is not easy.
Then there is another more difficult thing is "no-birth confession", that is, "reality confession." This you have to go deep into all dharma from the doctrinal level, which is illusion, and understand the truth of emptiness from the theoretical level. We have a confession verse. "The sinful nature is originally created by the heart, and the sin arises from the heart and confesses the heart. If the heart dies when the sin dies, it is called true repentance." You have to confess until your heart is extinguished. This is not easy, your heart How can you let it go away? This mind-destruction isn't like a wooden person, and there is no reaction at all. That's not the situation. So this principle is very deep, and you have to understand the principle so that you can practice this confession method.
Therefore, generally speaking, it is "first confession", which means to the individual. Then, if the same nature is improved, it is to confess to the public. Then this is even more difficult. Only one person knows your fault for one person, and you have a lot to the public. Everyone knows, but this kind of karma disappears very quickly. This is relative. Like Lay Hu Xiaolin, he is effective by practicing the method of repentance. If he does not repent publicly, he may retreat in three or five days. , Because he has a very heavy habit, it seems that eating, drinking, prostitution and gambling are almost available, and that habit is very heavy, he himself said.
But when he confessed to the public, on the one hand, everyone also showed sympathy. On the other hand, they also knew that he was so bad and would always criticize. Then everyone’s eyes would pay attention, depending on his performance. The true confession is not making it again. Then we have to see if you don’t make it again. Then the person who repents will develop this kind of diligence and courage. Anyway, he has nowhere to go. He speaks out, if you It hasn’t been corrected, then all the evil things will be known to the family, and the face will be lost. Then it has not been reformed and shown to others. If the image has not been reshaped, it will not work, so he can only advance and can’t retreat. This is a confession. A function of confession.
If you really want to participate in this confession class, or if you really want to practice the confession method, this is also very rare. You must be diligent and brave, and you really want to improve your realm, so here I also want to take this opportunity, I just There is also a matter of confession to this teacher He Meihui. In fact, it is a very small thing. We are classmates of the XNUMXth Dharma Propaganda Training Class. Then we often write lectures in the computer room together. My relationship with her is pretty good. She is a Ph.D. She is a Ph.D. But when we talked, I found out that she was Taiwanese just like me. Then she was... Southerners are generally more loyal and honest in character than northerners. We all have this characteristic, but the Mandarin language is not that standard, and then the eloquence is not so good. We are very familiar with it.Once I accidentally, I just said it casually, chatting, I suddenly said a truth, that I am also a very straight person, I will not pretend, but I speak the truth from the bottom of my heart, and There is no derogation, there is no meaning to look down on.
I just said one sentence, I said, "Oh my God! How come you are a doctor, how did you get that doctor? Your eloquence is like this...", I found out that she had I didn’t say anything, I said, "Oh my God! How did you get your Ph.D. degree?" This sentence is poisonous! But I really didn’t demean at that time, because I had a good relationship with her. Yes, I also admire her very much! She is very virtuous, everyone knows her looks, and she has many advantages that I don’t have. Then I knew she wouldn’t care about it, maybe this one. She doesn’t remember the matter anymore, but it happened to be talking about this part, I...how could I still remember this incident, I also feel surprised, maybe because I didn’t confess, the karma is still there, hurry up Take this opportunity to make it clear.
(XNUMX) Admire the hard work of Lay Huiyan
Then recently I saw her circulated discs and I found that her eloquence became very good, and I saw her change, because in October of this year, I went to Hong Kong for four days, I also talked with her a bit, and then She also gave me a box of tea. The courtesy was very thoughtful. Everyone talked very happily. The old classmates hadn’t seen each other for a long time. Later I found out.. Later, after I left, I saw her CD recently. I Only to realize that she really improved a lot.
Not only her expressive ability, because she has been practicing speaking for ten years, her expressive ability is very fluent, and it is certainly not easy for her to get a doctorate degree. Her thinking is very clear, expressing this kind of The content is very organized, just because of the terminology, the term may be this because it is not in the Chinese department, and the term may be more concise. If you have a chance, you can go to the CD that she recorded, and the tape is a confession class. , She brought some experience from the confession class, very good.
Another feature is her. I found her kind of diligence and courage, which is very rare! She took this class because she took the initiative to ask the old monk. She wants to take this class with her heart. This requires courage. You have to bring this confession. Class, first of all, you have to show your repentance and tell some of your habits.She said that she was unable to work hard for fifteen years in school, and the reason she attributed her lack of effort was because she did not start from this fundamental point, did not really confess, and has been doing superficial work all the time.
So it’s really not easy! Because with the old monk, there are many.. contacts with many big occasions, this basic etiquette must be done, then if we have not reached that stage, there is no such big heart from the heart. If you have the kind of courtesy from the heart and the courtesy of others, then you need to pretend, and I can’t do this, and it’s very painful for me, and I can’t pretend.
Then she said that she often had to pretend to be in front of others and learn the rules, but the old monk also said that this is also a teaching, a kind of convenient and skillful learning, you pretend to become true after a long time, just like a disciple rule, at the beginning You have to pretend. This is one of the convenient ways to learn.. But it’s better to start from the heart. It doesn’t have to be so hard to pretend. If I pretend, I can’t pretend, I’ll just I would rather admit that I won't.
But if I really want to do it, I think that if I start my heart with sincerity and know how to do as much as possible, then maybe my roots will be more corresponding.The reason for her is that she feels that she often pretends to do these etiquettes. She said that in fact, you should not be fooled by my appearance. She looks very virtuous and then very kind. In fact, my heart is very poisonous. Guzu, wow, it's very thorough, it's really hard to come by, so I'll also mention it here.
So what about her, when we graduated, the old monk helped her choose the name Huiyan, Lay Huiyan. After that, the other classmates clamored: "Then you are the old monk’s disciple and now you are a student. You also go ask the old monk to help you get a dharma name!” So because of the fate of her getting the dharma name and the classmates were so upset, I also ran to ask the old monk to help me get a dharma name. I was at that time. Because I want to say that I will spread the Dharma in the future, if I want to use any dharma name when spreading the Dharma, the old monk will personally pick it up for me. It is called Renjing. The old monk helped me pick it up. We are of the Zhuangzi generation. So Renjing is an old monk in the capacity of a master. I am a student. Help me get this name.
At that time, Jushi Fu was also nearby, and Master Wu Ren was in... as if he was busy in the kitchen. Usually Jushi Fu was always with the old monk. Then the fate of that time was also very rare, and it was unexpected. It should be. .The reason is that it is also the cause and condition of Teacher He Meihui, that there is the following condition.
(XNUMX) To eliminate karma completely and quickly is to survive to the Paradise of Bliss
That teacher He Meihui also mentioned in the confession CD, she mentioned this sutra about confession, then I think this passage of her is also very important, it is a passage in "Pu Xian Xing Yuan Ping", here I am Let me put it forward for everyone. Let’s learn together: "Speaking and confessing to the karma, the Bodhisattva thinks of himself, I am in the past, in the beginningless robbery, from greed, anger, ignorance, body, speech, and thought, doing all kinds of bad karma, boundless and boundless. Those who have the physical form are in the empty realm and cannot tolerate it. I have learned to purify the three karma, all over the Dharma realm, and the dust is very small. All the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will repent sincerely before they will not make any more. ".
This passage is the passage explaining the karma of repentance in the "Pu Xian Xing Yuan Pin", which shows that in our boundless calamity, these evil karma caused by our body, mouth, and mind.. What if this Those who have a physical form of bad karma, have this form, we now know that we cannot see that image when we create karma, but if there is a physical form, the entire void world cannot tolerate it. This is a fact. Only the Bodhisattva knows it, but we don't.
The "Ten Vows of Samantabhadra" in "Panther Samantabhadra" was cultivated by the Great Bodhisattva. We don't know their realm at all. We have such a heavy karma. That Bodhisattva thinks of himself, he knows.Therefore, some of our fellow practitioners often come to me and ask questions: "Why do my... and my family are always bad? Why do my family have some problems one after another? My karma is very heavy", I will tell them: "Your karma is more than that."
The karma of each of us since the beginning of the tribulation is really just like what this passage says: "If there is a physical form, it will be empty and cannot be tolerated." Therefore, we must seek repentance every day and sincerely repent.Whether you want to confess to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, or show courage, or confess to the masses, sincerely confess, you will have the day to eliminate your sins. Of course, this is to learn in front of your own eyes. Faster speed means surviving to the world of bliss. All the karma has been borne by the Amitabha Buddha. This is really incredible, so this path must be taken, and the sooner you go, the sooner the better.
But we have not yet gone. In order to make our lives a little easier, we have to ask for repentance every day. This is a brief talk about the five precepts. Then I will also talk about the "Bodhisattva Precepts at Home" and give some important points. , Because "Bodhisattva Precepts at Home" has six levels and twenty-eight lightness, six heavier ones, and twenty-eight lighter ones. The lighter ones are not just... not some minor problems, some minor precepts, but relative to the previous ones. In terms of the six precepts, it’s a little lighter. Don’t think that it doesn’t matter if the twenty-eight precepts are light.
In the previous killing, there is no killing, no stealing, and big lies. The fourth article is fornication, not fornication, the fifth is about the four people, and the sixth is the selling of alcohol. The first four are similar to the five precepts, but This liar precept is different from the precepts of the five precepts. It is a big liar. It is placed in the third position. It is mainly for our practice. We have not proved that an Arahant says that we are an Arahant, and we do not have a clear mind to say ourselves It's understanding.
I also have a friend from the past. He followed the wrong teacher, and he followed a person in the Buddhist world who thought it was a very problematic. Then the teacher talked to them, talked to him, talked to him, my friend confirmed and said, "You Now that you understand your mind, you will be able to see sex in another two years.” Seeing sex can be separated from understanding sex, and it is said that you can see sex in two years. Is there such a thing?It's a big lie like this.A person who has truly attained a clear mind and has a real state will not easily reveal it unless there is a special reason. In order to save sentient beings, like the Buddha, he also forbids his disciples to display supernatural powers, but in special circumstances he wants to save sentient beings. You can show magical powers.
Therefore, we must pay attention to this big lie, especially the old cultivator. Like us, according to the instructions of Master Shandao, we have confidence in the death. We told others that we have confidence in the death. This is not considered a big lie. Count? Count? Count? "Count." Then I am going to hell now. We must know that when we say that we have faith in the rebirth, we have faith in Amitabha, because the rebirth is the power of Amitabha, not by ourselves Realm, so we say aloud that we have faith in rebirth, just like the Buddhas in the ten directions praise and praise Amitabha. We use our own deeds to prove Amitabha. It proves that I have faith in Amitabha. I have confidence in this method. It has nothing to do with my own merits, so this is not a big liar. If it is a big liar, then I will die and be ugly. I even caused you to follow me, so what can I do!
Therefore, this practice is to be frank and frank, if there is, there is no, there is no, there is no need to be polite. If we have faith, we have faith in the Buddha. If we have faith in ourselves, it is true. On the one hand, we must avoid making big lie. On the other hand, It is that we must also be humble. People who are truly cultivating and virtuous cannot always promote some of their own strengths, or the realm they have attained. That is not justified, so this kind of thing is not only easy to make big lie. It is also contrary to our own moral virtues, so we should pay special attention to this point.
(XNUMX) Always be aware that oneself does not have a stand to criticize others
The fifth one is "the four precepts". This is also very easy to commit. The four precepts are crossed. I have often mentioned before: "True monks do not see the world crosses." This precept is not easy to keep. You can pay attention to: "From today on, I don’t want to criticize others." When you speak, the old monk says that you must say good things, be kind, and say good things. We can do this, and we can change it now, every day. Note that when I start again: "How does that person do this? How does that person... I think it's better to learn how to arrange that part. They don't seem to arrange it properly, it's not as good as the law...", we are the most I often hear... not as good as the law, "How is that person's precepts and unruly?"
We often hear, see, and even commit ourselves, so starting from today.. I know, no matter whether we have received the Bodhisattva vows or not, we have to observe these things. If you didn’t do it, you didn’t observe it or commit it, or Retribution is the same, so everyone should pay attention to it. Knowing that there is this precept, we can’t say the four precepts. At the beginning, we must pay attention to ourselves. If the words spoken are good things, we can’t mention them as long as they are not good things. It doesn't matter whether people are as good as the law or not.
We don’t have a stand to criticize others, are we? And we criticize others. Our current mind is self-righteous, we know it well, and the realm is higher than him. Only then did we think that I should be qualified to talk about others, or to teach others with kindness. This mind is not pure, so don’t really talk about other people’s faults, and don’t criticize them. We must violate this precept, and don’t...we must learn to be humble, but we can still pay attention to the superficial things. Avoid committing.
In more detail, we often make mistakes that we didn’t notice. For example, some fellow practitioners heard the old monk’s lecture, which passage he talked about, and when it comes to this part, the old monk will teach us: "The real monk will not see you." In the world, cultivating is about cultivating oneself, not others.” Then some fellow practitioners were very happy after listening to it. Why are they very happy? Because this passage happened to go back and talk to her husband.So I took this passage back intact and taught her husband: "The old monk said that as a practitioner, you can’t talk about the faults of others, and you can’t look at the faults of others, you know, you can’t look at my faults in the future? !", her purpose is the last sentence: "You can't teach me later!", she moved back to her husband, she didn't use it herself.
This is a crime, and I didn’t notice it. This passage is to make the people you hear yourself hold, instead of picking it up to make others hold it. This is because you accidentally committed it and don’t know it. You want to be able to mention it. This vigilance is not easy. Maybe we did it several times without even noticing it, so we should pay special attention to this part.So our practice must be that if we want to save the people around us and cannot save it, it is because we have not done it ourselves, or our principles are not well understood, and we don’t understand the reasoning opportunities. The most basic thing is to do it by ourselves. If you do it yourself, even if you don't know how to speak, people will look at it. If you have eyes, they will imitate you and do it just like you.
(XNUMX) Use wisdom to achieve success in the board of directors
There is a very interesting Koan, a little novice monk, he is responsible for some miscellaneous work, cleaning work, and then there is a monastery, because now many monasteries receive tourists, so many tourists are not Buddhist disciples, and garbage is everywhere. It’s lost, painted on the walls, and even some scholars... Intellectuals, scholars really didn’t learn a lot of basic education, you can tell from which point, he went to some scenic spots, he feels refreshed and happy now, this, This is very interesting, okay, let’s leave a poem or two! This one sees a good wall and good geographical conditions, so I start to write the next poem, and then someone visits here, is there any? You are Li Bai and Su Dongpo. It's okay. It's very valuable. If your writing is ugly, please, pay attention to it and write for others.
Once this little novice, their monastery, this is a public place, you can’t write casually, but there is a wall, and often people like to leave some of his spiritual experience and insights, so they write it full, and often have to rewrite it. I was going to clean up the paint. One day the little novice was very angry. Someone still wrote about the paint. Someone wrote about the clean paint. So he thought of a way, and he wrote next to him: "Here You are not allowed to write", to warn the public, is it effective? No effect? Yes! No effect.
As a result, after a few days later, he went to look at the side. Just beside the place where he was not allowed to write, there was an extra sentence: "Why did you write first?", because tourists couldn't find this little novice monk and couldn't touch it. , He wrote there, "Why did you write first?" When he saw it, it was very hot, but what should I do? It hasn’t started yet, because it’s just been painted, it can’t be painted all the time. It’s asking for money, he I don’t know what to do! Then I watched it again after a few days, and there was another line next to it: "He writes and he writes." The third person came in again, and it started to be... that was a... this... The bulletin board of the dialogue is the same. Is there any, the first sentence: "Not allowed to write here", the second sentence: "Why did you write first", and the third sentence: "He writes by him", fight on it Up.
Then a few days later, another tourist looked at it and couldn’t see it. Other people couldn’t see it: "I want to write, everyone writes." It's all filled up, the whole wall, the whole wall. It’s full, so when the little novice monk saw it, he was silly on the spot. There is no wisdom. The little novice has just shaved. This is quite interesting. Let us realize that you are half-dead and useless, and there are no rules for you. People don’t take it seriously, so I just started playing this word game, so if we really want to be able to influence others, we must do it, we must use wisdom! Then this is... .
The sixth is "selling wine", that is, you can't sell alcohol. This precept is that the first five precepts are not to drink alcohol. When the bodhisattva precepts go further, you must pay attention to this part. This level of influence is relatively large. If it is a health-preserving alcoholic beverage , There is no problem, we need to pay attention to this, we need to know.
(XNUMX) The real key to Buddhism is to cultivate the mind

In fact, all of them are important, but because we have limited time, we will cite some of the things that we are more likely to commit, and we must pay special attention to them.Let’s take a look at one. The sixth is... This is "Seeing the destruction of the four peoples, the heart is arrogant and slow." So what kind of heart should we have when we see people breaking the precepts? We must be the first to be vigilant. Three people must have our teacher. When we see good people, we should learn from them when we see good people. When we see evil people, we must be vigilant. , Can’t be like him, this is to engage in physiognomy, this behavior can’t be like him, but we can’t, really believe that he really violated the precepts, maybe people are open for various reasons..., maybe people come again to show Maybe, so we can only have one thought, which is to have a vigilant mind. We can’t comment on the second thought. Not only did we not say it, we also don’t have the second thought in our hearts. This is the purest and most purest thought. Correctly, if you really want to have thoughts, you can only learn from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, which is to look at it with compassion and alert yourself.Look at that old Xiu Xiu who has been so miserable for so long. Basically, this precept is not good enough. We have to be compassionate to him, and we must not be lighthearted, and then raise our own vigilance. This is what we usually need to pay attention to.
In fact, this external environment is illusory, just like a movie, it really comes to accomplish our practice.Regardless of the plot, we won’t take the movie seriously. After it’s finished, the movie will end as soon as the power level is turned off. Those realms are gone. The question is whether we get any insights during the process of watching the movie. There is nothing to gain, so we usually live in the same way. The people around us seem to be real, but in fact they are not true. This is difficult to understand, but this truth is in all realms, especially people, the four major falsehoods. Harmony, earth, water, fire and wind, temporary phenomena, everything is a combination of cause and condition, temporarily, after the separation of the four major factors, the human body is gone, and all things and everything are the same. They are temporarily caused by conditions and conditions. Aggregation, its physicality is empty, so everything is illusion.
If we know and truly appreciate this fact, you won’t be moved with your realm. People say that the actors are crazy and the ones watching the drama are fools. That’s it, the actors seem to be crazy. Acting in this, acting in that, but the people watching the play are even more pitiful. They treat it as a fake show. When people cry, you also cry with them. Why are you crying, right? The movie is so pitiful, just cry. The movie is over, it’s okay, it’s finished, you are still crying over there, laughing and laughing with him for a long time, it has nothing to do with you, is it like a fool?
This is the way in our lives. Others’ emotions, sorrows, sorrows, and joys are used to follow the fluctuations in our hearts. People’s mood has calmed down. You are still over there, right? Are you stupid? Without mentioning this vigilance, losing righteous thoughts, not understanding that this realm is really a combination of causes and conditions, it is not true, and there is no need to follow the realm to be in that realm, follow the heart to create karma, and our hearts must be kept at all times. It's very clean, just as if it doesn't move.
People admire you, don’t get fainted with joy, just stay still, but you can hear it clearly, it’s okay for people to slander you, know these things, be clear, and your mind is not broken, of course it’s clear Knowing Chu, but the heart is not moved. No matter it is a person who is deeply connected with us, there is no need to be moved. Don't say that it is an outsider, it has nothing to do with me, so you don’t care, your family, oh that’s terrible, If you disobey you a little bit, and if you are a little bit against you, you will be up and down in your heart.
People who are deeply connected with themselves are also transfigured and do not need to be moved. In this way, you are a wise person. When our hearts are kept in a very pure state, your wisdom will arise, and wisdom will arise. When you come to this state, you will know how to deal with it, and you will know how to handle things satisfactorily, being able to help others, and you will not suffer... and you will not be troubled, so you will know how to deal with it satisfactorily, and you will be able to help others. First of all, you must have a mind.. You must have concentration, and you must be able to be calm before you can handle things.Okay, this is more subtle from the inside. The precept of being arrogant and arrogant in the heart is not allowed to have emotional thoughts and bad thoughts.
The key to our Buddhism is to cultivate our minds, including the level of quality of our chanting for rebirth, whether we can rebirth, or whether we can rebirth, or whether we can rebirth, the decision to rebirth still lies in our mind, not in our kung fu, kung fu is unreliable. , I can’t practice Kungfu. In the past, all monks were It is three robes and one bowl, no money, then this bodhisattva ordination disciple must prepare these things in the family at any time. As long as there is a cause and predestined to see the monks come to alms, or if it is predestined, then quickly take it out to make offerings, that's it.
Now that the predestined relationship has been established, these methods have not been used since they were introduced to China, but the spirit is the same. Bodhisattva ordination disciples are obliged to protect the Three Jewels. Why? Because these four disciples are all disciples of the Buddha at home. It is necessary to divide labor and cooperate, share the burden of the family business, and promote the Dharma. Only when the monk becomes a full-time practitioner, can he quickly achieve the Taoist karma, and then go back to practice generosity, and then the lay disciples will cultivate blessings, because they have to have a family. Tired, you can’t devote yourself to spiritual practice, so you cultivate and protect the Three Jewels.
Because you are a disciple of the Buddha at home, you are taught by the Buddha and by the grace of the Buddha. Of course, you also have the obligation to give back. Just like a child, your parents raised you, and when you grow up, you should be filial to your parents. , Parents should take good care of them when they are old. This is a natural behavior, and it is not prescribed by others.Therefore, these precepts are also based on seasons and conditions, and then based on this natural law, which is determined by nature. It is a very reasonable precept.
So especially in the mentality of protecting the Three Jewels, we must study hard. Now many laymen are protecting the Three Jewels, not only do they have no merit, but also create karma. Look at Emperor Wu, he has cultivated so many blessings. He asked the master Bodhidharma: "Are there merits? "There is no merit," so you must cultivate merit. It is not when you do charity that merit is achieved. He cultivates blessing because he doesn't know how to use his heart. He uses a conditional mind and a mindful mind. That is a kind of blessing. If it is unconditional, the three-wheel body is empty, and even the heart of gratitude, I am grateful for this opportunity to cultivate blessings, to provide for the Three Jewels, to repay the teacher's grace, to give back to the teacher's kindness, and to be grateful for this opportunity, then this merit is greater.
Or it’s not easy to achieve three-wheel body emptiness. You can do it with a grateful heart. No matter whether the three treasures or the dojo is good or not, as long as he is the Buddhist dojo, regardless of whether the monk has cultivated well or not, this is him. Personal cause and effect, whether he can digest faith and donation, and whether he can make good use of the ten-party offerings to operate, this is his personal cause and effect, we cultivators can only be responsible for our cause and effect at the moment, our cause is more Pure, the more outstanding the merit.
Three-wheel body emptiness does not have the image of the writing that I am giving. Without me, there is no object to be given, and there is no object that I support. There are no three concepts. It is called three-wheel body emptiness. This is difficult and not easy. You can start with no karma, that is, unconditional, and then be grateful, then this has merit, not just merit, merit is included in merit, merit is not in merit, merit is more complete, and as long as he has Merit, the merit in it is very big, it is worthy of a million, and it is infinitely multiplied. If you have the conditions to write, it is merit, and merit is the big deal. You pay one point and get two points of interest. , At most, it is like this. This is a lot of difference. You are also doing this, the same offering, but the difference in rewards is so big, it depends on whether you are careful.
Even some people still create karma, with a trading heart, I will give you money, and you will do a puja for me, and give me super savings, then this is a kind of business, and there is also that it is more disrespectful in the business. If there is no respect, then this is a kind of relatively bad behavior, which can be regarded as an act of creating karma. Of course, some of this is because they don’t understand and don’t understand, and they don’t have that kind of disrespect, because they don’t understand, but There are both vaguely and vaguely, so try to avoid this mentality as much as possible.
There are also going to the Buddhist temple to make offerings. We have seen that many phenomena are reversed. The lay priests go to the Buddhist temple to protect, and then the monks are busy in the kitchen for a long time. Hurry up and entertain these guests, distinguished guests and guardians. Please entertain them. , Then who is supporting whom? Yes, the layman has money, but there is a kind of disrespect in this, there is a kind of disrespect in it, in behavior... Of course, maybe he doesn't have it in his heart. , Did not notice, did not understand, so it would not be disrespectful, but the behavior is disrespectful.
The monks entertain and provide for these lay protectors and great protectors. This is the behavior. Of course, they are already in the secular way in their mentality. They think: "People come here with a kind heart, and we can't let others. It’s reasonable to be hungry and serve a meal.” This is also true, but this is the view of the secular, not the view of the practitioner, so what a monk does is not like what a real monk should have. …Has become just like the custom.Look at that...that for the lonely elder. He was the great protector of the Buddha at the time. He donated a piece of land for the Buddha and his disciples to practice in the ashram. After that, he still went to give food and support every day. He didn't donate it. When he got to the ground, he went to the monastery and said, "Hey, cook for me, and I will swagger over there and eat it." No! He is really cultivating great blessings and realizing merits.
If you came to donate a lot of money today, the Master should entertain you. Isn’t that a deal, right? Then you will lose your blessing. If you are a monk, it’s okay to serve you, but your blessing It's damaged, right? So this is not a very appropriate one.. A demonstration, you must pay attention to a monk at home.If it is.. What we are talking about now is generally seen. In fact, many of the Sangha groups still follow the principles and principles. We often study in many places, specializing in the dojos of the precepts, or the jungles and Zen Buddhism. The jungle is still the same as the law. Now many jungles in the mainland are also the same as the law. Except for the sightseeing dojo, it is a dojo for real practice. So I said that the real monks, you rarely have the opportunity to see it, because it It is not open, and there is no open tour, so of course you can’t see it. It’s still the law.
Only the layman who really seeks the Tao and goes to practice can see it. Then he is justified. Going there not only provides money, but also does both internal and external wealth. You go to provide money and make foreign wealth. Shi, and then go to be a volunteer, there are no monks to serve you, there is no such thing.Of course, there is also a predecessor. It is really a great guardian. Like Li Jinyou in Malaysia, you can’t ask him to cook, and he can’t cook. At most, you can ask him to bring a servant to help you cook. It’s impossible to ask him to cook himself. People just want to cultivate blessings, but they don't want to practice. They can't force them to say, "Hey, if you come here to keep the precepts, you have to be a layman and do layman's work." That won't work! It must be difficult for you to maintain this precept, so in the afternoon you can eat a little snack, eat a few biscuits, drink some oatmeal and so on. On the one hand, it can also prevent gastrointestinal discomfort, like I used to... To keep this precept, I used to have stomach ulcers that have something to do with it, because if I don’t eat every day, then suddenly I have to be motivated to help eat a little bit of Kaiyuan. That absolutely can’t be said. There is still this obstacle for people to listen to the Fa. Some dojos have very strong opinions: "You are from my side, so you can’t go to other places." The chairman immediately announced: "The next stop is where Master Renjing is in a certain place, you can go and listen.", immediately rejoice in the merits, and of course it will also be with us. You can listen to the Fa-study-related, the relevant master’s lectures. It’s not that we are cultivating the Pure Land and then asking you to go to meditation and meditate and chant mantras. Of course not. That will affect our practice, so we should take care of it ourselves. To take proper measures is to broaden our minds, and then we must be motivated, solemnly dojo, don't divide each other, we must pay attention to these things.

When I came to speak half a year ago, he had already heard it. He was very responsive to this method, so he accidentally knew that I was coming again. At that time, he was in Skudai. He drove from Johor Bahru to there. After five consecutive days, he went to Million Town, another five consecutive days. After listening to the lecture for ten consecutive days, I was very worried whether his wife would be unhappy. He worked all day, and then had children at night, and the family had to take care of it. Later, he brought his wife to listen to the scriptures. It's heart-warming. On the one hand, you learn more, and on the other hand, you also have a solemn dojo, so you must have this heart.

(XNUMX) The monk practice is worthy of being supported by the heavens

First of all, this monk must establish a correct mentality and truly become a monk. Why do you want to become a monk? First of all, it’s for yourself. It’s for the promotion of Taoism, the bravery, the diligence, the learning of the precepts, and the keeping of the precepts. So leisurely, you must learn the precepts as soon as you become a monk, okay, so this motivation is very important, in order to repay the grace, in order to improve the state, in order to bear the burden of the family business, this concept must be established first.
In other words, we must understand that we really want this ordination.. We must cut love and resign. It does not mean that you have become a monk and your heart has not yet become a monk. Just like a secular man, you will come back all day after a monk. Lay, this is not allowed. Some people do not become a monk at a very old age. They do not learn the precepts very well. They communicate with family members all day long. It is not possible. If you become a monk, you just cut off your love and resign. Of course, it is not ruthless. , But to say that all beings are equal, all beings are a family with us.
Whoever has deep Dharma predestined relationship is mainly based on Dharma predestined relationship. If this person seeks Dharma predestined relationship and matures, then he will be close and more contacted. It does not depend on our friendship and relationship. So we must first understand that monkhood is Let go of the small family, and then unite with sentient beings. All sentient beings are a family and expand their minds. Therefore, it is necessary to really put aside all the past worldly things. The so-called severance of love and resignation, if you really want to send your heart like this If you can truly become a monk with this kind of heart, then the merit of the moment is terrible. Not only does this kind of heart become a monk, but your head is really shaved.
So why can a monk be able to be supported by humans, because there is reason for things, and things are done, that is, if the director is sufficient and the true director is sufficient, then this merit is incredible, because you have truly surpassed and you have given up a lot. Some people are doing very well in their careers, their families are rich, they have their sweet wives, and their children are also very filial, but they are willing to let go. Let’s not talk about married people. That’s too sensitive. , We generally don’t talk about learning from the Blessed One, the Blessed One also lays down all his wives and children and cultivates the Tao first.
Let’s talk about the individual first. You personally have to let go of your various... a kind of enjoyment in life, enter the Sangha, learn the precepts, live a very light, very ordinary life, and even asceticism, this heart burst, and Really do it, don’t you say it? Many laymen in the realm really didn’t realize this. Old cultivators think that they have cultivated very well by themselves. They despise novices and new monks: "Ah, this is just a monk, it’s nothing. "Cultivation", in fact, he has just become a monk, and his merit is greater than that of you.
Because you think you have practiced, but even if your mind is a monk, you can maintain the precepts very well, but because your blessings are not enough, you have not really let go, and you have to pass the exam. , If you really do it, and really let go of things, then that counts, and we can't think that we have cultivated well.Even if you have a good practice, you are really practicing diligently, keeping the precepts, and then self-interested. This is all good, but you still have to pass the exam before you can count.
As for the monks, he has already done it, no matter how much his mind, state, or how much he has practiced, he has done it. This precept has already been held and practiced. Therefore, if we look at it from this perspective, it will be in our minds. It’s a little more balanced. He really knows how to respect the monks, especially those who are monks, the new precepts, and many people like to make offerings just after receiving the precepts. Challenge his morality, in order to repay Buddha's grace, and he really let go, his current merit is real.

He subconsciously put his palms together naturally, so in this scene I saw from the beginning to the end, I didn’t speak, I just stood there looking at them, many fellow practitioners, many sentient beings saw the monks, he would naturally give birth to one kind, or It's ashamed, or it's a behavior that will constrain oneself, which is really the case.That scene made me feel very impressed. It's not my skill. I didn't say anything and didn't do anything. He just saw a Dharma, so it is a very special thing to be able to become a monk.
In Singapore, there was an on-site Buddhist question and answer. Someone asked me that there was a young man in his XNUMXs who wanted to become a monk, and a female crowd asked me. She said that she wanted to become a monk, but she went to Homestay. When I went to learn to ask, there was no way to become a monk. She said, "Is it true that the old monk does not recommend people to become a monk?" Then she said, "Master Yinguang also does not recommend people to become a monk." I said... the old monk, I said, "They Did you say that?" I said if... she said, she said: "The old monk said it is not good to be a monk", I told her, "The old monk said that it is not good to be a monk, then why does he want to be a monk himself?", yes No! I said, "Master Yinguang has been in retreat for more than XNUMX years. If he accepts disciples, how can he educate disciples? Everyone’s wishes and the different causes and conditions do not mean that he does not accept disciples. It is not recommended for others to become a monk. You can go and read the Buddhist monk's merits and virtues. That is what the Buddha said, how extraordinary!".
So let’s not listen to it, and give the old monk a hat to Master Yinguang, saying that they do not recommend people to become monks. They have their intentions. They are afraid that you don’t know about monks. Then you won’t be able to keep the precepts when you become monks. Of course, it’s a sin to destroy the image of the Sangha. Of course, we don’t encourage people to become monks. But if you are truly brave and admired by everyone, how could it be bad to become monks?When the old monk was giving lectures not long ago, he took the initiative to persuade Dr. Zhong Maosen to become a monk.During the four days I went to Hong Kong in October last month, Dr. Chung, because we had known each other ten years ago, would talk when we met.. When I saw his hair cut very short, I said, " Huh? Why, you want to become a monk!" I asked casually, but he nodded to me unexpectedly.
But this doesn’t count, because we’re recording now, it’s not necessarily what the result will be. Looking at the cause, we just chatted at the time and talked casually.That’s because the old monk also suggested that he be a monk when he gave public lectures. This is a good thing, because Dr. Zhong, Lay Zhong Maosen is a very good scholar and a disciple of the Buddha, because at the time I said, "You Do you really want to become a monk?” He nodded to me, and I said, “The martial law is very strict!” He said, “It’s okay.” His attitude is really motivated, so of course we admire it! Feel free to admire! That’s why I often encourage young people to ask for it. Why do I mention these monk precepts today? I also hope that young people will be more motivated and have a correct mentality. The purpose of monk practice is to save sentient beings and to save others.
